  • man, all you need is a motor and a battery pack to run that thing, you don't need a computer to do that. waste of money. sorry to say, but buying such expensive thing to do such a simple task sounds like a dumb ass to me. now mindstorm that.

    However, I'd recommend using NXT2.0, since it can recognize and handle the color sensor, plus it has more software features (e.g. data logging).

    During a typical robotics course students would start with something like this and either constantly upgrade it or keep on making better and more capable robots.

  • For what purpose you need that microcontroller? There is no point of using anything more complex than dc-motor and some batteries.

    Otherwise that's cool mechanical design. :)

  • o now that cool does the set come with enough peices to make many different things? or do u have to buy extra lego peices?

  • the set comes with 1 nxt (big controll thingy)

    3 motors and 4 different sensors and a whole lot of regular pieces. (and wires of course)

  • Give it a Touch, a Sonic (distance) and program it, that way it can judge the distance from an obstruction and turn.

  • I don't think it can turn - it uses only one motor to drive both legs, so they won't run indepenently.

  • is there a reason for the tilting? I can't seem to find any reason why it should tilt. Typically a walker would tilt to move the weight onto the standing leg, while the other one would move forward, but this one does the opposite, and the weight is irrelevant with that foot configuration. But none the less, it is a cool robot =)

    kebakent: there is always a reason for tilting. all bipeds must shift the weight to each side to walk. if it dident it would fall. even we tilt when we walk, not much but we do
