This really helps! Sometimes I care too much about detail in my paintings and it turns out so bad, so now this blending thing makes sense!

"it is the color of the sky" because water is actually colorless
algae turn it brown or green
however a river lake or the sea is "blue" because it reflects the color of the sky (like a mirror)
