  • Alot of weird people and angry people commenting on here... i hunt but i also support this its really interesting how much trust this animal has with you.

  • God BlessYou for helping to save Rosie's life. Just curious: Are there any vets where you live who know anything about deer and how to treat them?

  • @dazzle7000 Thanks for your comment. Yes, there are vets who could treat deer. The difficulty is that usually it is impossible to get close to a hurt deer (or any deer), so most vets have very little or no experience. One cool thing, however, deer have one of the best immune systems on the planet. In addition, when injured, the deer's body isolates the injured area from the rest of the body in a way that lets them use their reserve energy more efficiently. One of nature's greatest survivors.

  • i watch this video some nights over and over before bed, because your voice is so soothing it puts me to sleep

  • so... when do you harvest and eat the deer?

  • I remember when i was a tree hugger.

  • "Sport" Hunters are sociopaths. They love to take their children, too! Desensitise them early in life, and most won't recover. It's like child molestation.

  • honestly, if it's such a bad cut, you should have put it down, i'm not saying what you did was wrong, but not saying it was the right thing to do either

  • slit the damn animals throat and eat it! get over yourself

  • That is a spoiled rotten deer.

  • beautifull

  • Gawd damn I hate hippies

  • this was 2 years ago. Is she still around?

  • @slapurmommaz

You can see Rosie in our video "Deer says "Meh!" (Dec, 2010).

    She's a strong deer!

  • hmm.... ever think about the consequences of limes disease

  • Looks like little rosie's gotten pretty big. Might meat up to the center of my crosshairs and might end up mounted on my wall while I enjoy the fine chuck I have harvested from her body. Are u fucking mental dude? Deer are made to wander in forest not to be petted by some tree hugging hippe that smokes weed like a frieght train. I almost threw up listening to this crock of shit! Tell little ol' rosie to watch the fuck out or she'll be eating my 30/30 bullet for breakfast.

  • As much fun as it might be to care for a wild animal, its not a good idea, because not every other human will be nice to her, and she could find herself in a sticky situation..

  • @somuchluv89 Just like not every human is the same, not every deer is the same. Most deer understand the difference between a stranger and a friend. In any case, when we saw Rosie with this terrible wound coming right up to us, humans she knows very well, "fun" had nothing to do with it. This is a great example of the problem of generalizing, and ignoring key facts simply because you think you know "the truth" about something. In politics, this kind of ignorance sometimes passes for strategy.

  • @PelorianPages Somuchluv is right.... I don't know why your disagreeing with him so much. It's a great thing what you did with 'rosie' but in actuality, its not the best for the deer.

  • my cousins neighbor had a pet deer they took in, its mom was hit by a car. i am a hunter and loved this deer, i would never shoot her if she came through the woods. such a loving animal, you call her and she comes right to you like a dog, even though i am a hunter i have great respect for these animals.

  • Music is indian?

  • @dreamerstays

The music is ours - Starseed - look up our website on this video's "more info"

  • I was going to make a smart ass comment, but watching this i paused for a moment, and thought better of it, WOW dude that is really cool you could do that nice video, i hope rosie lives well.

  • hunting is fun for me but crolty isnt i hate people do that but nice vid

  • What does it's fur feel like?

  • @Anthand12 re: What does it's fur feel like?

The fawns fur feels soft like a rabbit's. The adults' fur is harder, almost bristly - offering a good protection from scratches while running through tree branches in the woods.

  • You hunt to kill and eat, not to stuff heads and mount in your living room.

Game trophies are for idiots who have huge egos and need approval for their fake toughness.

I'll bag a deer any day for the purpose of feeding my family and living off the land.

  • dude you had a pretty nice buck there, shoulda killed it bro

  • Nice work, I would have done the same. People stereotype hunters and say we are all redneck idiots. Some of us actually have ethics.

  • mommy i want a deer like that guy :(

  • lol @ punk

  • Nice man, you are lucky. How did u get this close to a deer? And every time I try to get close to a deer, by the time I am a foot from it, it runs away. And also for the hunter people. I appreciate people doing it to feed their family but I don't appreciate it when people do it for fun. For game. It is not fun to kill wild animals. Think as you are being the animal and you get shot. And I think humans are more overpopulated then deer. And plus, let the predators take care of it instead of shot

  • WAIT , the deers wild? i've never gotten that close to a deer before :(

  • Way to placate any feelings of trepidation this deer may have towards people. Anyone can appreciate your love for animals, but keeping wild animals wild will benefit both deer and humans in the long run.

  • your music choice is making me feel hi

  • awwww....

  • thats freaking awesome man. your so lucky!

  • I like your videos sir.. these people that comment on videos being mean spirited are called "trolls" on the internet. Just delete them and ignore them. These are wonderful, once in a lifetime videos that I've enjoyed greatly. Thank you for sharing your fantastic experiences. I feel so peaceful and calm when watching them. Thank you very much.

  • you should of eaten it

  • @vermontchef1

All too often people respond to this act of compassion with murderous sarcasm. I guess that's a mask for deep psychological issues. I don't hunt, but I have nothing against hunters who want to feed their families. Why do hunters like you feel the need to ridicule us for what we like to do? It's too bad you don't ask yourself that question. Maybe then America would start to mature as a culture. Sadly, the people who like murderous sarcasm will just see this comment as too liberal.

  • @PelorianPages oh man do i so agree.

  • @PelorianPages A lot of hunters assume all people like you hate us. I only hate those of you you also hate us for what we do, I have no problem with non hunters, so long as they treat me with respect, and I'll do likewise. Most of us try to be as humane as possible, but as with everything there are the few that ruin an entire group of peoples reputation, it's a sad thing, just like how many hunters view non hunting people as PETA crazies.

  • deer are awsome!

  • CAREFUL, wouldn't want to catch LIME DISEASE from their TICK BITE....

  • the world needs more people like this people who care and dont needlessly murder the animals

  • were did you get a deer i want one

  • this is amazing!

  • this is some wierd ass foo right here, that deer LOVEs you man :sSS <~~

  • what a beautiful deer..I love them...wish I could have an encounter like this!

  • You did an excellent job on Rosie! Hydrogen peroxide is the PERFECT thing to wash, and disinfect the wound, as that the foaming action gets the dirt out.

The old "Purple Horse Medicine" works well with deer too.

For all the people that think this deer will become tame, and in danger of being shot, deer aren't stupid! they understand the difference between humans, and learn who they can trust, and who they can't!

After Rosie mates, she'll bring her fawn to visit. Let them make the first move!

  • don't you worry the deers will become used to humans and not fear them, say if they saw a hunter?

  • Poor Rosie :(

  • that's too funny! This wild deer just let's you pet her? wow!

  • Reply to SkateFOREVER202 who never heard a human talk to an animal: You think a killer is okay and a person who wants to save animals needs help. Okay. By the way, Rosie is doing fine. We don't feed her, and she seems to be finding plenty of food on her own. If only humans were as smart as wild animals.

  • I agree with these lovely people.

These deer trust these people, they know what they are doing and truly LOVE animals.

I talk to my dogs. the tone of your voice "communicates" to the animals letting him/her know your current emotional state, the same for your posture.

Its probably the same for deers but befriending deers is incredibly hard and i respect these people for being able to pet wild/semi-wild deer.

  • Deer don't have a lot of trouble finding food in the winter, and there is plenty of browse for them to eat.

They do enjoy a little clover hay once in a while, and I have plenty to spare!

I don't worry that much about hunters here. I've got plenty of signs, and an SKS carbine and a reputation for using it if the signs get ignored!

Last year I popped the front sight off of an idiots rifle that was aiming at one of the young bucks at fifty feet through the brush! He didn't come back!

  • sks....lmao. too funny. id punch ur teeth down ur throat wimp. i wouldnt need a rifle.

go suck some deer dick homo

  • reply to polska2934 who wants to kill Rosie:

So your response to us helping an injured deer is that you want our address so you can come and shoot our friend, cut off it's head, and mount it in your living room. You might want to seek some professional psychological help. And while you are at it, warn your family members about your violent disposition.

  • Nice...killing a deer and then hanging the murdered remains on the wall. Classy redneck decor! Perhaps you should get a psychiatric evaluation...wouldn't want you near any animals or children.

  • I hope a deer runs in front of your car and you crash and die and then maybe you will realize how overpopulated deer are...oh wait you will be dead.

  • I see deer all the time when I'm riding, but they don't stick around like that lol. The horses like to chase them.

  • UR SO LUCKY

  • Do you guys ever have any big bucks come into your yard??

  • We met a lot of big bucks when they were first born, so they visit from time to time, but adult males are not as social as the females.

  • mmmkay :P

  • Hey guys, I'd just like to say I truly enjoy all your videos, keep up the good work, you folks seem to have a true understanding of mother nature and an appreciation for wildlife.

  • how do you get so close to the deer. i been trying to for a while but its not working, plz reply if you know.

  • Please read our Deer in the Yard pages (link in the "more info"). Basically, we have been vegetarians for most of our lives, we "act" like deer when we are with them, and they decided to accept us for the above reasons plus other unknown reasons perhaps.

  • I am very happy to see that her wound healed! Poor Girl! I hope she will stay away from those mean glass windows!

  • For those who are really fond of the deer family, that is a tear former.

  • Beautiful deer, beautiful humans... thank you, Rasa and Marlys. God's brightest blessings upon you all.

  • You are just amazing with Rosie and her family. I'm glad she knew to come to you to help her. Blessings and hugs to you.

  • you are truely the deer whisperer of the North Woods. I raise orphan fawns and you did the exact right treatment for Rosie's wound. The love and trust a wild animal places in you is the greatest gift to receive as you well know.Well done!

  • This is a perfect example of what kindness and trust can do. If not for Rasa poor Rosie may not even be here today. She is one lucky deer. This has given me so much happiness and I must say I am a bit jealous. I had a deer here who I named Hope, that was hit by a car. She was limping badly for a long time and I have not seen her for 3 weeks. I fear she is not with us any longer. If only she would have trusted me completely I could have helped her as you did Rosie.

  • The deer will always come to you both because they now know you are to be trusted. Rosie I am glad came back and let you heal her wound, the others will do the same I am sure because of your wonderful faith and gentleness.

You and Marlis are a gift to the world and may your ventures be long and happy ones with your beloved deer.

    Christina

  • So precious. She's so obviously happy to have a good friend in you two. It's heartbreaking to see an animal injured. Thank God you were able to help.

  • I am glad she is recovering.

  • Compassionate energy has helped her heal. Blessings to you!

  • Oh Rosie, I would rather you help heal her wound and discolor hair, I think it looks great. I hope she's not infected. Please feed her organic food to help her heal, vegetables and fruits, also seeds. I hope she's going to be ok. My prayers are with her, and you all, and us all!

  • I hope she feel's better
