Interesting retelling of psychological progress. From individual grief in seclusion across anger against "the heavens" to the realization that sharing sorrow makes it easier to bear.
@basch2020 It is, but in a very limited way. The media mention it and show footage from China that same way they mention St Patrick's Day or a minor Western holiday.
@Vexyvampire I keep plugging away at a revamped JapanJuku, but it's slow going. Hopefully soon, and of course, I will announce it here as well when it reopens.
I cried for two weeks after the tsunami hit in March. Living in Japan this past semester has been bittersweet as I remember what happened on that day. God bless those families and soothe their heartache as they continue to grieve..
my heart goes out to everyone affected and still being affected by the tsunami and I hope that the New Year 2012 will bring some measure of peace and healing to Japan and the survivors dealing with their grief.
No need to apologize Jason, you are only human and you reacted like we all would have. It would have been close to impossible not be moved by that story. Thank you for sharing Miko's story with us.
While I was in Ishinomaki this summer helping, it just broke my heart when I listened to stories like these from the people living there. There is nothing more that I want to do in life than to return and continue helping.
@EvilOtakuEmpire We are all fated to die and the dead feel no more pain. The living suffer for years until death ends their pain. I view living with grief like that as being harder than something which WILL happen to us all.
@perdomot how can you be sure they feel no more pain? have you ever been dead before? i havent, so i cant say i understand what its like to be dead. how is it you can relate to being dead so well? the brain doesnt just stop the moment your heart does. who knows what its up to before it finally powers down.
wow just powerful story very dark.. i have never seen you like this but im glad you didnt edit it out.... it shows you care... hopefully ill do some charities in japan since im moving there like around 2013..... i will support japan....

@EvilOtakuEmpire Well, if Steve Jobs last words of "Oh wow" are any indication, doesn't make it sound too bad.

@perdomot you mean the words he said when he was still alive? there an indication of what its like to be dead? now that doesnt seem right at all....
