  • i think this tutorial could help a lot more people if it was english.

  • @clubtilt Learn portugues dumbass.

  • thank you for time capsule set up ! ;O

  • Is it possible to use the Time Capsule solely as HDD for my data and as backup? Or does it has to be used as router as well to work properly?

  • Thanks a million!

I bought TC 1yr ago with my 1st mba. I am terrified to open it. My mac is unstable took it to the genus; told me no issues detected but he suspects it is likely to crash. I was sent home to set up the TC. to back up my files. I am so frustrated I cant figure it out. I just tried as per your tutorial (Best) only to find out my MBA port wont accept ethernet cable Now what? If system is bad & I back up w/tc now will problems return when I import my files after the re-instal?

  • @kenjahsmom Seems to me that the issue your computer is experiencing is somewhat related to a conflict between some app config and the OS. My advice is this: try to back up the whole stuff and see if solves the problem. If it doesn't, then you'll have to back up your files but don't back up all of your system. Then install the OS and the apps you trust not to be prone to conflicts. After that restore your files. I know it's a pain to do this, but I see no other way. Good luck!

  • Hi I was about to pick that stuff as my mate when I get money to buy. I was wondering which wi-fi station works best for the 2.26 Mhz processor of the 13inch Macbook Pro notebook, and how far the notebook can be in distance working the best. For example suppose I wanted to leave my station at home, take the notebook to school and I wanted to use Interent all the times, what will happen? Can you please help clear my wonders?

I'm forward to hear you soon. All the best.

  • @lamayeful Hi! If you want to take the MacBook to school, it can eventually connect with any wireless network your school has, or you can use any wireless dongle (but you'll probably have to pay for it )... A WiFi network has a limited range, so you will be only able to connect to your WiFi network on your home or on your closest neighbor's home at best! :) And have in mind that the signal might be stronger in an open space rather then if there are walls between the router and the computer.

  • @AppleColorsBroadcast Hello, oh now i understood. Thanks!

  • @lamayeful No worries mate! You're welcome! :)

  • what is time capsule, is it like an external hard drive for macs and what does the term airport mean when referring to macs

  • Hi!

Time Capsule is a wireless router with a hard drive which is obviously also accessible wirelessly.

AirPort and AirPort Extreme are local area wireless networking products from Apple based on the IEEE 802.11 standard (also known as Wi-Fi).

  • does this works for PC?

  • yepp...you install airport utility that came with the time capsule...pcs can even take advantage of the wireless external hard drive along with the wifi!

  • i have a wifi network already, and i bought time capsule, and i want to use it only for wireless backup. how do i set it up just for a wireless backup?

  • You gotta do it with Apple's Time Machine...

  • what is time capsule, what cane you do with it?

  • it's an airport and at the same time you have 1 TB (terabytes is like 1000GB) of free storage

  • so when you save a file's it save's directly to that thing(time capsule)?, that would be awesome and is it wireless??

  • no, if you save a file normally it saves you to your computer, if you want to have that file in the time capsule, you have to move the file to the time capsule icon (obviously that icon gonna appear when you set up it)

if you have two computers and you have an important file in one and you want to have it in the other computer you just put the file and then open the time capsule of the computer and extract the file

  • so dis device will give u wifi right? plz reply!

  • Sure! Your computer can connect with it via WiFi. If you prefer you can also connect via Ethernet.

  • May i ask what you use for screen capture software?

Very good video, thanks for the closed captions!

  • I use iShowU.

Eu tenho 3 computadores e todos utilizam a Time Capsule.

  • Awesome video! Thanks for sharing!

  • Dude great video. You really know how to make a "how to" video not like a lot of these lazy people that don't want to go through the process again. Any ways thanks a lot.

  • thanks a bunch. even though i cant understand portugese, i did exactly what he did and it worked. hell i might have even learned some portugese.

  • even though you can't understand portuguese, the video has subtitles in english for that purpose.
