My friend is getting a white oscar. She wants to put it with a Red Devil. Money and tank size is not an issue for her. How big would the tank need to be? Would they even get along with each other???
does he ever bother the frontosas? i have a 55 that eventually i'm gonna get down to just my frontosa, 2 jack dempseys, green severum and green terror and I would love to put a oscar in with them, do you think that would be ok if i got the oscar smaller than the rest. so far none of them are that aggressive towards each other.
it's 350 litres or about 100 gallons and it's five food wide. the video is pretty old and this oscar died about a year ago :-( I got a new one, which almost reached the size of the old oscar :-) I changed the diet from bloodworms to dry food.
u know dud3z.....i have red oscars....i feed them frogs,,,,,,,,i just have them in only 3 inch,,,and in 3 weeks in my tank th3y ar3 know 5 inch!!!! they much like,,,,live prey.....
i feed my fish pellets and mainly tropical flakes but my oscar only eats the pellets, will he learn to like the flakes or wat can i do so he eats the flakes.
why is he so small in this vid?was he a year old in this video?i had my oscar for 4 months so im guesing he is about 7 mounths old and he is 6 and a half inches.
hey this is to any red oscar keepers my oscar since this morning has been acting weird hiding (for the first time in 4 months) and starting to come out of his hiding spot then quickly go back in its really weird has anyone else experienced this?
My Oscars love bloodworms. Yours seems to be rather casual in feeding but with my 2 they push and shove eachother to get it all for themselves, they normally get 2 blocks each with each one gone in a single bite. Then as they much away almost choking themselves the little Convict eats the floaters which come out of their gills. Frontosas are nice fish too but arent they African? I would have thought they need different water conditions to American Cichlids?
u ppl have neva seen a full grown oscar in real life hav u. u need at least 55g for one oscar alone by itself which is 210litres. 130 and 120l is wayyyy to small
Dont mean to sound ignorant but how do you have other fish in the tank as well as oscars. When I had them I tried introducing other fish an the just ate all of them!
I guess the frontosas are just too big to get eaten by the oscar. I'm not sure if it matters, but he "knows" the fronts since he is a baby, maybe that influences his prey-scheme.
It seems you feed mosquito larves ice bricks. You should melt the bricks under cold water and only feed the larves. The ice is not good for the fishes.
Hi again! You're tank looks so much better with the vals giganta. (sry if i sound rude, dont mean to) I took you advise and got some. My 100 gal is in the cycling process. When it is done ill post a clip of it.
my oscars refuse to eat anything but natural food. its really anoying and expensive haha i have tried like 8 different types of pellets and they just chew em up and spit em out
will a baby oscar eat a smaller guppie plz tell me

I have a 3in oscar and put him in a tank with a 2.5in silver arowana. After 2 days, the oscar ate my arowanna! Hard lesson learned.
MrBaba9 3 years ago
change their teritory when you put in new fish, move rocks, plants, everything, the oscars won't reconize their home, and also won't be so agresive.
