Now I live in the US, and I'm almost finished with high school, and I wanted to apply to the University of Leeds... am I able to do that with an American high school education? To get around Leeds (or pretty much West Yorkshire) it's cheaper purchasing a MetroCard from a staffed railway station or post office. When on buses DO NOT ask for a day ticket as its not worth it as FirstGroup are rude and nasty.

I am Native American (Navajo) and my daughter attended Leeds Met back in 2007 and I got to visit her there and your footage brought back happy memories.
Leeds is where I am, one suggestion don't walk around any council house estates if you live in a private owned premises then you are not going to get hassle from all the local chav children.

@Noxi10 Be prepared for rain everyday (then you're surprised when its sunny), try and live centrally or in Headingley, only "ASDAs" sell reasonably priced vegemite (they are generally out from town a bit so maybe take a supply), prepare for amazingly cheap alcohol and save as much money as possible so you have no inhibitions. You'll have fun x

@hannah2gfs ahhhh i'm so jealous of you. i finished universitry in Leeds it was easily the best 4 years of my life. Got to say though staying at Opal 1 was the year that stood out the most.
I work at Leeds Met Uni, our office is based in the James Graham Building, the freshers festival was located in the Great Hall, renamed Ghandi Hall a few years ago now, aint back at work until 2011, bless!!

While its expensive,and at times saddening and lonely, on the long term it is a fantastic experience. @darthbilly Hi darthbilly! Leeds Metropolitan University I found great! I know many Americans who were studying abroad the same semester as me and they all thoroughly enjoy their semesters. Out of interest, what are you studying? Leeds is a VERY student orientated city - cheap groceries, cheap nights out and heaps of people under the age of 22. I found that perfect for me but I don't have an exchange to anywhere else to compare that to. If you're after some crazy nights out, I vote Leeds. :)

@ChelseaSimpson7 - Please never say you live in Bradford IN Leeds ever again in your life.
Your a different city and I find it very offensive saying bradford is in Leeds. Just for the record people Bradford is not anything to do with Leeds, own city, own football club, own postcodes. (leeds = LS.. & Bradford = BD)

@hutley405 Leeds is brilliant! It really feels like home there. The weather took some getting used, yes. My vid "Rain on My Parade" highlights how annonyed I was originally.. haha. Funny to look back on now that Im used to the overcast days. Are you planning an exchange or moving there?

@benjamina18 Haha British Summer? Im not sure it exists. I went overseas late May to have my flatmate text me and say a huge heatwave came through the day after I left and now that Im back all Ive seen is windy overcast days. Shame. I do enjoy how everyone strips down once the temperature is above 18 degrees - in Australia that is jumper weather. The portable BBQ is a cool concept too

hello from Florida! I've recently been accepted to University of North Florida and they have an exchange program to Leeds Metropolitan University. If you could please take the time to read this and respond. How did you like your stay? That's really all I could ask. I've traveled to the UK before and I find it wonderful, I'd like to know how it is long term. I suppose I really can't know until I try it out myself haha.

@darthbilly Hi darthbilly! Leeds Metropolitan University I found great! I know many Americans who were studying abroad the same semester as me and they all thoroughly enjoy their semesters. Out of interest, what are you studying? Leeds is a VERY student orientated city - cheap groceries, cheap nights out and heaps of people under the age of 22. I found that perfect for me but I don't have an exchange to anywhere else to compare that to. If you're after some crazy nights out, I vote Leeds. :)

Hey :) I'm Gracie & think i came across ur video when I was seeing if anyone from leeds met had studied in australia.. i'm considering transferin there for a semester or so next year. I live in uni halls just next to Opal 1, let me know how its all going ... :) oh and i'm making a video for a uni assignment atm about studyin at leeds met, i liked how u captured urs x

Hey Gracie! Wow - how exciting! Cheers for the comment. The purpose of my videos are to try and build the relationship between my uni at home and Leeds Met so good to hear from you. You should definitely, go on exchange to Oz - its far away but I think you'll appreciate the weather. haha. My uni is in Brisbane (near Gold Coast).
