@thebige61 Hi thanks for you videos there Fantastic and your layout, i am going to be attempting my river next week, have you put a tint of blue in the envirotex? cause the one i have order is envirotex clear high gloss finish. Any envirotex product are very hard to find in the UK i am starting to think i got the wrong one.
i'm so glad there are people like you who will take their time showing people how to do this sort of thing unlike some who don't care and just let others stress and figure it out for themselves. thank you so much
@toma123toma132 toma, as you might gather from the numbered title, Big E put together a whole video blog series on the construction of this riverbed part of his HO layout. If you are interested in such, you should go back and watch the entire series. Not only is it beyond remarkable, it will explain in detail answers to any questions you might have. You will even see him put the rocks in place, stain them etc. Big E is very talented and shows us all many great tips and processes for all this
Shouldnt you have put the tinted epoxy on first in the "deep" parts of the river... then the clear on top of it so the shallows would show the details in the river bed?
im really glad to follow you through this project... it looks like a lot of hard work, but very rewarding and fun!
it is sorta afterthought at this point... but what about using a turkey baster to pour that resin? It might help prevent spills and accidental contamination of other surfaces?
all i can hear is an old sound clip of some one saying "WAH HA OUW! ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW!" i dont know how said it but i think it applies here :) It has been worth the wait!
For anyone haveing trouble with air bubbles in their epoxy water, Try putting the cup of epoxy on a viberatory sander or a palm sander. The vibration will help get rid of the bubbles.
Have you ever added fish to your streams and lakes? Maybe small trout to scale of course, mounted on little thin pieces of wire to hold them up off the bottom..Would be interesting to see if that could be pulled off and if people ever notice it as one of those secret little details artists always add to their work..LOL
Looking very .. very good. I got to say though that it looks like pouring from a cup as yo did it seems that you are giving up a lot of control where the resin goes. I'm wondering .. I saw a meat injector at Walmart the other day .. basically a syringe with a fat needle .. if that might work for inserting the resin around rocks. If so, you would have a lot more control where the resin went.
SHOCKING!!!!!!!Can you take me through how you acheived the colour on the rocks?
Amazing work.

@jasonandjoesrailway I use envirotex lite 2 part epoxy resin. I got the 32oz kit and that was about 30 US dollars.
