@ Ganja: Agreed; it's a terribly random trailer, and doesn't sell the film well at all. I'm confused about your comment re the scene shot outside the Royal Pavilion, however, as it is, indeed, in the final cut...

@8thstreetplayhouse Watch again. In the final cut of the film the carrage is seen moving only briefly as it approaches a stationary camera. The film then cuts to the scene where Melinda is helped from the carrage. However, in this trailer the camera moves along with the carrage and then you get a fantastic long-shot of the carrage and the Royal Pavillion, all of which were lost in the final cut of the film.
Had they not cut this film to pieces it would have been spectacular.
If this was the actual trailer then I'm not surprised the film wasn't a hit; it's REALLY random & doesn't look at all professional. However, it does contain a nice long shot from the flash-back sequence taken outside the Royal Pavillion that didn't make it into the final cut of the film (my kindom for a director's cut, I'll bet Barbra has one tucked away somewhere!)
*SPOILER* After Dr. Marc puts her under one more time she "remembers" another life where they were together--but the kicker is that she's "remembering" a future life that hasn't happened yet. He sings "On A Clear Day" to her, trying to get her to accept & love herself in the here and now. She says "See ya later" and leaves--but as she goes, she has a psychic flash-forward implying that she knows they'll be together someday, reprising "On A Clear Day" surrounded by blooming flowers, at peace.
Based on the genres, the style, the plot and all, i should love this film. But, just got through watching a little over half of it on Netflix, and for some reason, I hate it! I usually like musicals and such, but this one was just a drag for me, ans I'm almost sorry I even gave it a chance! And, that's saying a lot, considering I usually like all the movies I chose to watch at least a little! But, maybe I'm just not a Barbra fan; come to think of it, I didn't even really like "Funny Girl." = (
i love it when she says...'if you dont catch me in this life, you can catch me on the next'....but i say do it in this one....i love this movie...i own a copy....zone girl
@cubantoro ....me too...but i love the concept that he is reaching out to her an she cant get him out of her mind....she has to go see him an ask him to stop tormenting her by constantly tuning in to her wavelength.....does anyone know how to do that... tune into a wavelength?...i would love to learn how.....XD -zone girl
To think that when this was released in 1970 it was one of the most expensive films ever made at 15 million. It was a clumsy film with a weird story and it was actually a flop on Broadway. The songs are pretty amazing and she rarely sounded better.
This is one of Barbra's best films besides Funny Girl. All the people who think this trailer sucks are really crazy.

INteresting ending. I'd never heard this version with the chorus dubbed in.
