You have made a stunning time-line tribute for those of us who are now finding this great passion of a visionary poet/artist of language who invokes the deep unspeakable magic of the human heart that few ever go. She brings tears with the power of her voice and beauty of her being.
Nicely done! I never heard of her until I searched the lyrics in my favorite Lady Gaga song "Dance in the Dark", I wondered who she was referring to when she says Sylvia, so I researched it. Such a sad story, she was a great poet and I found this very interesting, as well as the 6 part documentary about her on youtube also.
...I'm sorry but I just object to the term 'madness'. She wasn't 'mad' - just very ill and she was tragically blighted with this horrific illness throughout her life.
The only negative comment I have to make about your video is when you refer to her 'descent into madness'. She was suffering from severe clinical depression and that is what brought about her 'nervous breakdown'. This then led to her stay in a mental institution where she received ECT, which in its day, was a common treatment for this type of illness. Even today it is still used but only in the treatment of very severe depression and only after other medical treatments have failed...
I admire Sylvia's works greatly. I also have a high regard for Anne Sexton, too. It's such a pity that Sylvia married Ted Hughes as I am utterly covinced that his womanising was too much for a fragile person like Sylvia to deal with. A tragic end to such a short life that could have given more to the literary world.
@BellaSonia05 Google searched on her and wiki had it too, but I had to double check it was right. She was in one of Lady GaGa's songs so I did some research.
I don't think that is real but it look at the surroundsings, the door, you can see where there are towels she put those there before she put her head in the gas stove.

Unitarian or not, Sylvia was one of the brightest poets we had! Too bad she couldn't fight inner-demons.

I always believed that if Sylvia Plath had become lovers with Melina Mercouri, and knocked back a few Ouzo's she might have died laughing...
