  • This is making my bowl of cereal seem like a meal at a five star restaurant.

  • Just great hey, the cadence in the 3rd couplet is just fireworks! This can never ever sound outdated. What an inspiration this man still is...

  • My favourite Oscar Peterson composition!!!

  • @Hoick Mine Too!

  • This is indeed NHOP!!

  • Or...IS the bassist actually NHOP after all? Looks like someone else. Sounds similar, but "flowier," at least in this version, than the recorded NHOP version. I'm confused!

  • Who IS this bassist? I like (love) his version of this tune better than NHOP's (Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen). Much better. Sounds like a piccolo bass. But it's not. Is it? I'm not a bass player.. So help me out, someone!

  • @avivagabriel It's a string bass. The kind they use in classical orchestra settings.

  • E' musica moderna...ma non nel senso che comunemente si intende...è moderna perchè la sua bellezza rimarrà tale anche per quelli che la ascolteranno tra mille anni.

  • It's a fabulous performance, but Montreaux '77 for me is Oscars greatest recorded gig I've heard, with Ray Brown AND Niels Pederson at the same time! It's a bassists' dream!

  • the unique ad great Oscar!!!

  • The Oscar Peterson Big 4 Live In Japan '82 is a "atomic bomb" !!!

  • one of the best live recording ever!

  • what a great tune...and what a great musicians

  • My favourite OP tune, & with the incredible Niels Pederson, too......Thanks for posting!

  • To me he is the best ever. Multiple motivations, but I won't list them... Better listen! ;-p
