My baby had cradle cap, and Eczema. We tried every thing and the one thing that worked was the oat meal baths. I grounded up plan old oat meal and put in her bath. When she was old enough to drink juice we put the oat meal in her juice as well. You can also add it to beast milk. This was the only thing that worked for her. I hope this helps.

I noticed that text, but it was a couple seconds in, so maybe they left the comment before they read that? lol i am glad to hear other breastfeeding moms giving their children tri-visol, because my 1st, i gave it to her for a year, then with my son they said i didnt have to, and i always thought that was wierd! They have a cradle cap kit in the grocery? I dont know if it works but i know they sell it. Maybe that would work?

Hello Lucy,

My Daughter had craddel cap and I used baby oil and a baby brush and it cleared up in a couple weeks. So you can try that and see it it helps. So when you put the baby oil on a use a good amount the brush in a side motion( not with the brush flat) I hope this helps

I was bruising really easily during my pregnancy- when I started taking liquid chloryphyll it stopped within a week. I would buy the concentrated version- the brand that I use is ChlorOxygen, the mint flavored one.

i try so hard to explain the poop situation to other moms who bf and they just dont believe me lol they go through all their make their babies poop rituals and its just not worth it! its nearly impossible for an exclusive bf baby to be constipated :)

So Deacon had cradle cap and ocaasionaly break out with it... My MIL bought us "gentle natures" cradle cap care (from Target (with winnie the pooh on it)) and it works!!!!!! We tied everything including selsen and nuetragena t-gel and it the only that that works- and doesnt make him oily or smelling like mediated shampoo... You just wash his hair with it then his normal shampoo- lotion and it's gone for weeks

Did u notice ur scalp kind of doing the same as his when his did?? Dunno if I'm weird.. but mine did!!!! I had to buy T-Gel and been using it my self. Not to mention my face broke out right along with it. I was like ahhhhh, make it stop!

I didn't have the scalp problem but I did have the breakout... good times!!!

I HATE the smell of that T-gel... especially on my baby! I'm telling you... the Cradle Cap Care stuff works MIRACLES!!! You have got to try it! And it's instant...

I feel the same way with you about meds, seems like you go in to the doctor and as soon as you say what is wrong they want to give you medicine, not even REALLY look into make sure that's what you have.

For circumcision, most other countries don't circumcise. The US seems to be the only one that does this and now they are moving away from it. For cradle cap, I just would put lotion or baby oil on my son's head and comb his hair, it seemed to help alot. That is cool about the blood types.

Audrey had craddle cap BAD! I would just use her baby shampoo and leave it in for a couple of mnutes and then take her baby comb and comb it thru. She had it in her eyebrows too!! Oh and the name Kalen, I have thought of that name for a girl if we have another girl. But we woud spell it Kalynn! LOL Funny how one letter makes a BIG difference!! People often call Audrey AuBrey! :)

That's such crap, I can't believe the doctor made you give her prune juice and suppositories. My daughter only poops once a week and it's been that way since about 2 weeks. Perfectly normal, just more of a hassle cause of the blowouts. *grin*

UGH I hate being anemic. It's been like that for years. Take the natural iron supplements. But still....:( Just when you lightly bang into something you get the worst bruise! LOL...when Nick and I started dating senior year, I turned the corner into my bedroom door. My dad saw...and I had the worst black and blue and green cheek! PPL at school thought Nick was "hitting" me. Oh Lord! LOL. And just the other day he went to kiss/suck my forhead and I had a nice purple circle on my forhead for days

I was just wondering (and if you explained this before I am sorry) why you choose to not have your son circumcised, especially since your husband is circumcised. I was just wondering what made you come to that choice and if there was any particular reason for not having him circumcised. I will be having a boy in October and I plan to get him circumcised just because I heard that by not doing it they can get a lot of infections over the years. Just thought I would get your thoughts.

You "heard"? Would you honestly cut your childs skin off based on what you "heard"??? See that was my problem, I was tired of rumors and outdated information. So I got the facts, and what you said is a myth... infections-b.s..Of course it CAN happen but not if you take care of ur self and ur clean unless u have medical health issues that would cause it. Newho the AAP advises AGAINST circumcision, & there is NO BENEFIT AT ALL 2 having them circumcised. So we choose 2 stop the trend n our family.

My son who is 4 months old now, had cradle cap from around 6 weeks until about 2 weeks ago. I had been using Johnsons head to toe that is shampoo and bodywash combined. I have found that when I stopped using the head to toe and started just using johnsons baby shampoo and using the baby body wash on his body, that the cradle cap has nearly vanished. Im not sure what you use, but this worked for my son. Hope this helps. Take care

my doctor told me to use selsum blue shampoo for cradle cap and it worked in one use! he also told me to use it for baby acne and it cleared that up right away too.

in Canada it is against the law not to put the car seat handle in the down position. Weird that it doesnt matter in the states.

Our manual for the carseat said back and I asked my doctor (this was 5 years ago) told us it had to go back because if broke in a crash it could harm the baby.. Who knows but I yell at people going down the road to read their manual lol I guess I'm glad they can't hear me cuz I thought they all had to be down.. I guess it don't matter anymore..

I have read that older car seats it should be back... some of the newer models say forward.

I'm still not completely comfortable with up or down personally simply b/c there are so many conflicting answers.

omg im so glad u share my opinion on circumcision, a friend resently got her son done and he bled so severly he was hospitalized for a week, and was in terrible shape, i didnt get any of my 3 sons done and im happy i made that decision, as u said they can decide for themselves when they r adults

I'm not saying this to be judgmental, but just thought everyone should know. Circumcising boys/men is a MAJOR surgery and is extremely painful. I'm Jewish and it's something that we do as part of our religion. A friend's husband converted before they got married and had to have it done. He was laid up for a week...doctor ordered. A 4 year old I taught one year had to have it done as he was having some medical complications requiring it. He was out of school for a week. Newborn recover fast!

We thought he might have had colic when he was much younger, but he was just super gassy and I had to change my diet and do a few gas techniques and all is well. I've heard conflicting answers though when it comes to exclusive breastfed babies and colic, like it's not possible, some say it is? I dunno though. newho he's an EXTREMELY happy baby though!

Grace had cradle cap too it was pretty bad I did the olive oil and baby oil thing as well, it did just run its course and slowly went away....she even had it in her eye brows lol. I never knew it was from my hormones from breast feeding! that is interesting.

But I thank you for letting people know that there are other options to that than just having the procedure done because it's expected. I don't think a lot of people know that it's not a routine procedure anymore. When I informed the nurses we weren't going to have it done ultimately, they looked at me like I was an alien.

My son isn't circumcised either. He was going to be, but had water retention in his testicles, so the doctor wasn't able to do it. Fate kept intervening whenever it came time for the appointment to have it done, so eventually I decided it would be best to not have it done, because I believe everything happens for a reason. It was mainly going to be performed to please people in our families to begin with because they wouldn't leave us alone about it.

My little guy had cradle cap and baby acne. I researched it and found the "Mustela" line of baby care. It is kind of expensive but it's VERY gentle and smells SO good. It's worth it! The Foam Shampoo for Newborns is amazing for cradle cap... his was GONE after using it only 3 times. If Kacen's cradle cap is REALLY bad, they also have "Stelaker" cradle cap cream for that. For general skin issues like acne or other rashes... their "PhysiObebe" (no rinse cleaning fluid) is also VERY good.

Thanks! His cradle cap is moderate she said. I'll have to research the info u gave me :) Luckily he doesn't have baby acne, not yet at least. My daughter did for a few weeks. Breast milk helps that though :)

I also LOVE the Mustela line of products, they're wonderful!  We use the no-rinse cleanser and the all over shampoo and the lotion for after his bath. He smells divine and his super sensitive skin doesn't react to it at all. Just my 2 cents. :)

That's weird about the carseat handle... in my carseat info booklet it has pictures of how it should be when in a car and how it shouldn't be... it says it should always be put back.

Oh and i wanted to tell you i totally agree with the Dr issue...my Dr is the same way and unless they totally HAVE to have it , we do not medicate either. We took Tatum to the ER when she was 2 (running like 104 fever...very sick) and they gave her antibiotics...3 days later Austin got sick....they had the flu and the ER didn't test her so they just gave the antibiotics my DR was soo pissed about it. I was too!! That's why i hate that junk!!

He's a chunker like Tatum was, they are sooo cute when they are chunky like that, i could eat her thighs UP! My insurance was the same way, they just gave Tatum Zyrtec for allergies and wrote a script for it instead of over the counter, free is always better!! LOL!
