You may be correct he did not bring back slaves directly but he was responsible for starting the practice. As for your second question Columbus was in charge of a army. He gave orders not to abuse the natives peoples. However some of his soldiers did not follow his directions and he got blamed for it.
Yes it is true, he brought back some slaves and was involved with some dark dealings. However if he did not bring these slaves back they would have been killed by his shipmates. But his actions saved the lives of many other natives peoples later down the road.

Everyone underneath wishes money didn't exist, but our narrow viewpoint makes us believe that people would lose their motivation and incentive without money. It's subconious program so we support the monetary system.
