So Charlie, now that you have this thing up and running, what are you planning on doing with your Model 2? I think you should talk to your town about selling it to them so they can provide coverage in another dead spot, or you can find someone else who wants to buy it. Either that, or you can set it up to do noon blasts.
@Thewoog34 I have it as a backup siren for now., just in case the Thunderbolt runs into any problems (which I'm sure will never happen, but still) and if I need to blast a siren during a power outage. I can run the Model 2 off of our 7kW generator.
@soccerdude7330 Do you mean that the voltage is lower on level 5 on post 1983 Thunderbolts? How do you know this for sure? Is level 7 still 240V for post 1983 Tbolts?
@LouisvilleTorn8o Level 7 is going to be whatever voltage you feed into the siren (i.e. 208, 230, 240, etc.), because that tap and the "common" tap is what actually feeds the transformer itself. A lot of these single phase Thunderbolts are a wee bit on the low side for the chopper anyway, likely due to the excessive amp draw of the blower motor, which would take away from the other two motors' supply current/voltage. I'm pretty sure the transformer type hasn't changed in these since the 50s.
@murrfarms That's what I thought. I believe I remember Charlie posting a video of his TBolt on level 5 a while back with only the chopper running, and it sounded normal...It seems only to run slow when the blower is running. To fix the voltage problem, I would recommend running the blower on a separate circuit if possible.

The Attack signal reminds me a whole lot of the Boonville, AR Tbolt, except that this one has a higher pitched blower. Great video, and great echo!

@LouisvilleTorn8o That's kind of expensive to do. With properly sized wire there is no need for a seperate circuit.
