  • I would love to join you. I've always wanted to join the Muppet crew, but I've never known how, so joining you in this would be wonderful.

  • I know Elmo is a piece of CRAP!👿😡👿

  • I want to do it! But I'm 9

  • I like what you said and I hope we can do something but, nobody can replace the muppets!😉the muppets are my fav!

  • sesame street is fine, the muppets are fine, all of jim hensons work is all fine u need to chill out dude the muppets new movie has lots of connections to the old days with historic characters like wayne and wanda uncle deadly and more so jusy lay off

  • @muhammedbg123 Just because the those puppets show up in the movie doesn't mean that they're going to be portrayed in any way that properly resembles the original characters we fell in love with on the Muppet Show. There are those of us who watch what the Muppet characters do nowadays and NOT allow the nostalga of memory lane to cloud their performance rating. I fear that you might not fit into that category. These characters should not be coasting on how entertaining they were in the past.

  • AT LAST!!!! Someone as upset as I still am about Frank & Jerry no longer being in the Muppet business!!!!

  • @TheaterServant Upset yes, but also unerstanding. Frank and Jerry are getting on in years, and the prefessional performer perfers to be seen either at the top of his/her game or not at all. Besides, with all the restrictions on what Muppets are and aren't allowed to do these days, I imagine the enviorment has become too depressing to enjoy for them. If it's this painful for fans like us to see the Muppets freedom cut down and creativity caged, I can't even begin to comprehend how they feel.

  • @FroggleBird I guess you're right. Although, remember Frank Oz still performs Cookie Monster, Grover & Bert a few times every year so that is somethin

  • @FroggleBird You're right. I mean I really can't either. There has to be something that we can do

  • I

WOULD do something, if i was 10 years older :L

  • @kare2much Your written support is plenty. Don't worry about it.

  • i completely agree. sesame street is CRAP now. it isn't worth letting my kids watch. come on, bert and ernie are crappy claymation now.

  • @MommyMacyx4 I understand your frustration. Unfortunetely I can't see to many reasons to argue against their decission. In olden days, Ernie and Bert were performed by Jim henson and Frank Oz. For them, the script was a guideline for them to build their comedic improve skills around. Two decades later and the conditions have completely changed, with the new performers either lacking creativity or too scared to risk crossing lines and loosing their jobs. Being predictable, why not clamate them?

  • sure, lets get together, in about TEN years. lol, okay but im not kidding ten year okay buddy?

  • @kare2much Whenever help is offered, it should be appreciated. Sooner would have been nicer, but thank you anyway.

  • it's funny, my real name is "jim hanson", i do a respectable kermit, when dealing with people, they want to spell "hanson" as "henson" or "hansen"... i do videos to entertain and educate on YouTube, and out of sheer boredom. loved the muppet show, and early henson, never cared for sesame street, too remedial... but henson was an american icon...

  • @mrbadx19 Indeed, he was. Thank you for commenting.

  • Secret Life Of Toys was epic too!!!!

  • @Vanessness6969 That wasn't too bad of a series, I'll admit.

  • right right elmo is runin seasame street good i hate elom and i love kermit and miss piggy

  • @MsSuperprincess12 Right on!

  • Yes lets all get together on Facebook and make a Group, If you like this idea let me know and I will make one for all use puppet lovers out there.

  • @DeathLastWish Thank you for the offer. I may just take you up on that. I'm not terribly techno-savy just yet. I have Ideas, I just don't know how to program them. Lol!

  • I am intrigued. You're adorable. How do you feel about the new Muppet movie coming out this November?

  • @Cynabunnie I'm glad that you're intregued ... and that I'm adorable, aparently. I think my response to the upcoming Muppet movie is best left to another video. There's a lot to cover.

  • star wars?

  • @rd1999 Confused, I think you are. Wrong topic, this is.

  • Steve Whitmire Had been with the company a long time, but not as a part of the main group of Muppets, unless you consider Rizzo the Rat one of the real stars. That would be like calling Uncle Leo one of the main stars of Seinfeld . I'd say the only stars he could say were his are Wembley Fraggle and Sprocket.

Watching something new from the Muppets is kind of like when you watch anything new from the Starwars universe. You want it to be as great as the old stuff but it's not. It never will be.

  • @joeevil Steve Whitmire and his take on characters like Kermit and Ernie can easily get me going on a near-endlesss rant. I think I'll save it for another video.

  • Steve Whitmire a replacement Muppeteer? Umm.. he's been with the company since the days of the Muppet Show. Most of what you're saying is pretty incorrect.

  • @WiiFolderJosh I never ment to imply that Steve Whitmire was only a replacement Muppeteer. As you've pointed out, he's been with the company for a long time. I would like to add that he's an extremely gifted performer. However, his portrayel of the characters that Jim used to play leave me quite disatisfyed.

  • AMEN!!!!!!

  • @nmsugarbear69 I try.

  • That just irks me so. Not as much as little blod clot Elmo running the show. I don't understand why when Kermit left the stupid 3yr old Elmo took over it should have been Big Bird or Ernie. Even Telly or Baby Bear would have been better then Elmo who was only ment to add cuteness to few scenes with grown ups. Now its cute over load and it seems to be turning into live action version of muppet monsters wich Jim regreted making. Kermit was kind of like host of Seasame Street I always saw when

  • @majormana1 Kermit was never really a full-time character on Sesame Street. We'd get to see him every now and then for an edu-taining segment. Occasionally, he'd share a song that could bring viewers of all ages into deep thought. Unfortunetely, Kermit's visit's decreased in 3 phases. Phase 1 obviously hit when Jim passed and a nervous Steve Whitmire took over playing Kermit. Phase 2 set in once Sesame Worksop got established. Phase 3 happened when Disney bought the Muppet Show characters.

  • I'm in I can write and draw. You can contact me at coolpuppy.busybee@yahoo.com when your ready to get such rolling. I grew up on Jim Hensons shows and you are so right on everything you said. I have another bone to pick with Jim Henson productions they are useing Kermit and Rowlf in movies I may have only been 4 in half but I remember when they aired the momeral services and they did something with them then said in honnor of Jim Henson Kermit and Rowlf would no longer be used.

  • @majormana1 Thank you for offering your services. Truth be told, I don't think they had a lot of confidence in the company prospering without Jim's iconic characters. Of corse, they haven't exactly been "handeling" those characters properly in the last two decades. But then again, I think that of most Muppets nowadays.

  • I'll take the challenge Frogglebird. I'm building my first puppet as we speak. ;)

  • @zekefujita Awesome! Have a good time.

  • You are speaking what's on the heart of every good '80's-'90's kid out there, especially those with kids, like me. I am sick of Elmo, and don't even get me started on what Sesame Street and the Muppets have become.

Henson would be rolling over in his grave.

You are a breath of fresh Muppet air into a stagnant cesspol of television. Thank you, and God bless what you do.

  • @menotyou87 Wow, I don't know what to say. I'm completely blown away by your comment. Thank you very much. I'm just telling it like I see it.

  • For those of you who don't know this, 2011 marks Jim Henson's 75 birthday. Some nice muppet thing would be great in celebration of that.

  • @MichaelBrookham I feel horible for not having anything ready for Jim's 75th birthday. Seems to have gone over pretty big, however. Thanks for posting the heads up.

  • U should prob tell others that watch Labyrinth, Dark Crystal n others bout ur Vid. I wuz lookin up Fraggle rock whn I came across it. Thx for postin this.

  • @Kuroneko388 Happy to do it. I'll get around to those productions soon enough.

  • Yea ur right bout everything suking nowadays. 2 much CGI shit. N Elmo's needs 2 take a back seat. Kids r tired of 'im. U go FroggleBird! Tell it like it is.

  • @Kuroneko388 thanks for the support. i'll keep doing my best.

  • I thought Upside Down had a Muppet-feel to it. I mean, the Muppet can turn anybody's world upside down & the music has a Muppet kinda beat. & at the end with "Is this how it's suppose to be? 2x" I see Robin holding up a child's card & reads it outloud. "We will miss you, Jim Henson. Matt. (heavy sigh)" from when the Muppets celebrate Jimmy. & BTW, sorry if I've been asking you too many questions. I usually ask other people's opinions on this kinda artists stuff. Sorry.

  • @ZNKChannel No appologies needed. Glad to hear your opinions.

  • You would think Disney would help the Muppets but they made a forgettable WOZ" movie,NBC made a heartless "It's A Wonderful Life" parody, & "Mirroirmask" was crappily made. I wish I can help you.

    P.S. Have a Popover Froggy!!

  • @SLATania74 I don't think they were in full possesion the Muppets durring the "Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie." However, I do agree with you that those movies felt particularly weak. Although, that one scene with Fozzie delivering the rent money to the bank was more fun with that bear than I've seen in quite a while. As for help, your cyber-company will be more than enough, thanks.

    P.S. Murmer of Amazement!

  • Actually, now, I've faced a big issue. Should I draw some characters as their alternate idenities, (Like Gonzo as Charles Dickens, Satyr, Rumpelstiltskin, Boy Who Cried Wolf, Cabin Boy, Tin Thing, Fozzie as Fozziwig, Emperor, Squire Trelawney, Cowardly Lion, Piggy as Emily Cratchit, Queen Midas, Sandy Pig, Benjamina Gunn, the 4 Witches, & Kermit as Reporter, Bob Cratchit, King Midas, Mayor, King, Shoemaker, 12-Year Old & Scarecrow.) or them in their regular attire? No, Muppet Babies don't count.

  • @ZNKChannel I don't think I could give you proper answer. Just follow your artist's instinct is all I can think to say. Personally, I wasn't a big fan of their "Oz" movie.

  • Dude I feel the same way but you forgot a couple original puppeteers You know there's Jane Henson Caroll Spinney Brian Henson Dave Goelz and Kevin Clash But that's a good idea though

  • @bird754 Indeed, I wouldn't dare forget such crucial members as those. It's just difficult ot find time to cover them all in each video. I appreciate you pointing that out though, and your approval of my idea.

  • I've thought about what you said about using a different song besides Rainbow Connection, Bein' Green & Follow ME. What about if someone did a tribute to Jim with either "This Frog" or "Upside Down" by Jack Johnson? Are those some songs you were thinking of?

  • @ZNKChannel I'm meerly stating that there is a veritable library of Muppet-related songs that can tie in Jim's love of life, laughter, and world -wonder. I'm surprised that more Henson enthusiasts aren't digging into more Fraggle songs. If I had to give you a specific example, I would recommend "Just A Dream Away" by the Mud-bunny.

  • I see that on 1:50 that the muppeteers need to pull the company together, thats not true. The muppeteers just perform the characters, they don't write the scrips, they don't run the business, there just ther to take orders! The reason for Piggy not being that mush in the 90's movies, is because Frank Oz was busy. Eric Jacobson did not meet Jim Henson, and I think he does a great job. The muppets can't stay in the past the whole time, they need to move on to the present.. for the good.

  • @JuliePetunia There was a time where the performer's antics and ideas actually contributed to the shows they worked on. Unlike Jim, who played many roles in the corporation; from leader to actor, most everyone else stayed as mere puppeteers after he passed. In my opinion, they should have gotten more involved.

  • @FroggleBird Frank Oz made time for Muppetry as long as he believed it held good merrit. I think when things started going flat, Frank couldn't bare what was happening of his best friend's vision. So he trained a replacement (as best he could,) and emersed himself in his directing "career" to keep busy. Eric Jacobson is a talented performer, but I feel the restraints on his impressions of Frank's characters are far too tight, and the dimensions of their personalities suffer greatly for it.

  • @JuliePetunia Frogglebird has a point. You know how Gonzo is in love with chickens? That actually came from an improvised line Dave Goelz used in a "Muppet Show" episode in which Gonzo was holding auditions for a dancing chicken act, Jim and the other writers LOVED the line and started working Gonzo's character development off of it. If it weren't for Jim's open-minded approach, Gonzo wouldn't be dating Camilla right now!

  • @Pooleman96 Hmm ... Well put.

  • Wendell Porcupine, Charlie Muskrat, Harvey Beaver, Alice “Ma” Otter, the Riverbottom Nightmare Band, Leroy the Donkey, T.R. Rooster, Rover Joe, Catgut, Mordecai Sledge, Farmer Lardpork, Mean Floyd, Caleb Siles, Robin, Princess Melora, King Goshposh, Featherstone, Taminella Grinderfall, Sweetums, Cinderella, Rufus, Splurge, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, Animal, Dr. Teeth, Floyd, Janice, Zoot, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, Beaker, the Swedish Chef, Statler, Waldorf, Sam Eagle, Scooter, Rizzo, Crazy Harry,

  • Lew Zealand, Beauregard, the Muppet Newsman, Link Hogthrob, Doc Hopper, Max, Lady Holiday, Nicky Holiday, Jenny, Ronnie Crawford, Pete, the Muppet Babies, Thug, Molly, Boo, Jen, Kira, Fizzgig, Sarah, Jareth the Goblin King, the Fireys, Rugby Tiger, Mew, Apple, Belmont, Ditz, Balthazar, Meterora, Gobo, Mokey, Wembley, Red, Boober, Uncle Traveling Matt, Doc, Sprocket, Junior Gorg, Cantus the Minstral, Cotterpin Doozer, Kai-lee, PJ, the White Lion, Digit, Clifford, Bean Bunny, Vicki, Leon,

  • Lindbergh, Waldo C. Graphic, Milton, Wilf, Aart, Blanche, Quetzal, & Jim in the middle of it all. Do you think I'm missing any characters, like a few Sesames, some monsters, & (as I've said) the characters born from the last 20 years after Jim's passing?

  • Uh, Mr. FroggleBird, I have a problem I think I could need your help with. I'm gonna do a group picture for a Jim tribute & I'd like Muppet characters from all Muppet-related things. I only have the characters from when Jim was around. What are the main Muppet productions you think are important ffrom the last 20 years after Jim's pasing?

  • @ZNKChannel I'll have to give you a two-part answer for that one. If we're talking about comedy, I'd say Muppets Tonight did pretty well in keeping up with tradition. Hovever, if you're talking about heart, then I'd say that Bear In The Big Blue House hit the closest to home. Unfortunatley, in my opinion, no production since dear Jim's passing has managed to hold both aspects in equal high status.

  • I mean all kinds of Muppet characters, FroggleBird. So far, I have Kermit, Sam, Yorick, Harry the Hippster, Icky Gunk, Mushmellon, Moldy Hay, Wilkins, Wontkins, Dilbert the LaChoy Dragon, Fred, Arnold, the Nutty Bird, Scoop, Skip, Sir Lint, Rowlf (with Jimmy Dean), Manah Manah, the Snowths, Java, the Inchworm sketch, the Monster Eats Machine sketch, Hugga Wugga, the Snerfs, Octopus' Garden, the Gluton, Elmo, Big Bird, Ernie, Bert, Cookie, Super Grover, Oscar, Snuffy, Count, Emmet Otter,

  • The fact is there is no absolute vision for what to do with the Muppets in this digital age. This mainly has to do with the poor marketing and promoting of these characters, but honestly it doesn't matter because everything is about money. Fans can scream all they want, but unless they can prove there is some finance to be gained, nothing will change and the Muppets will eventually fade into nostalgia.

  • @raindragon16 Well ... I guess that's a fair, though somewhat cold, prediction. But although the characters may fade away, it doesn't mean their syles and ideals can't be carried forward by those who value them. Jim knew the right formula, someone just has to try reinstating it in a new resource. That is what's crucial in this video.

  • i will do this with you im trying to do this now. look at my channel i have fully devolped characters that i built and perform

  • @mixedking Now, that's a direct response. You've got some good enthusiasm going there.

  • yes. id love one of those puppets to

  • @cheeto37 It's nothing more than a "Glorfied Sock Puppet." No, really! You can find it online.

  • @FroggleBird alright ill try looking it up

  • YeS!!!!!

  • @annoyingfeatures InDeEd!!!!!

  • I realy love this vid, you are a very great puppeteer! Please post out more

  • @MuppetsFan123 I'm happy to hear that, and thanks for the compliment.

  • I'm sorry, but have you seen the Muppets' official YouTube videos? They are incredibly funny! The only Muppet thing I didn't like was the Studio DC specials. I'd like to see you make a video talking about what you think about the replacement Muppeteers.

  • @antsamthompson9 The Muppet official YouTube vids have their cute and funny moments, but they still leave a lot to be desired in my opinion. And I completely agree with you, the Studio DC specials were horrible. As for the "fill in" Muppeteers, I do plan on discussing them soon. Thanks.

  • @FroggleBird Oh, well. To each their own. BTW, they just released a new video called American Woman. Be sure to check it out.

  • @antsamthompson9 Absolutely.

  • @FroggleBird That's an honest way of looking at it. The Muppet videos are indeed funny and entertaining, not to mention more true to the classic "Muppet Show" they've ever been since Jim's death. All they need is that little "spark" that only Jim provided and they'd be perfect. And yes, Studio DC was a terrible attempt to reintroduce them to today's Nickelodeon-fed youth(blechh!). And hopefully you don't go TOO hard on the understudy performers, they ARE only human after all.

  • @Pooleman96 I'll try to go easy on them, but I'm not making any promises.

  • Perhaps in your second video you should mention that people who have no experience with puppets can still help. People who can sew, write, or paint can all help.

I'm a writer, and I'm in if you want me.

  • @Retact That might not be such a bad idea. Always good to know a writer. Thanks.

  • Though a fan of the muppets of ol', I lack talent, skill, and ability in puppettering, puppet-making, and puppet-whatevering. However I do want to encourage your efforts and say I look forward to another video, and hope that one is forthcoming...

  • @DragonsFyreBreath I'm very happy to hear somone ask for another video. I appreciate your encouragement, and ask only that you share word of this video with whoamever you think might like it. Thank you.

  • Ok... I'm kinda at a loss of words here... If you'd like, I'll do what like barrytoon did and post this on the Muppets' official Facebook page so Muppet fans who feel as strongly as you do can respond to your call and try to do something.

  • @Pooleman96 That's plenty. THANKYOU FOR DOING THAT.

  • I'm a relatively new fan of all these old classic shows, but I do have a soft spot for the Muppets. I have never seen an episode of Sesame Street in my life, but I have watched some of the more famous Muppet classics. I like some of MuppetStudio's YouTube videos, but I do agree that the quality in entertainment and the level of brilliance that was once there is gone. Anyway, I may not be able to actually build the kind of new group that you're suggesting, but I'll stir up talk for it.

  • @aris2dalton If you liked the Muppet Show Classics, you will be amazed by how many gems exist in the Sesame Street golden oldies. There's also Fraggle Rock, which is the pinacle of Jim's finest efforts, in my opinion. I could go on, but there are just too many to list. I applaud your observation and thank you for whatever help you can offer.

  • ...And its going to be in theaters.

  • @DisMupPix010 I am fully aware of the plans for the new Muppet movie. I check Muppet Central daily. Incidently, anyone who would care to post this video on their forum is highly encouraged to do so. Unfortunately after the steady decline in overall quality in Muppet productions, primarily starting with "Muppet Classic Theatre," I have little confidence in this latest announcement.

  • You do realize that there is a new Muppet Movie in development right? :-)

They recently had a table read for it.; you can find info on it on the Muppet Central boards.

  • @DisMupPix010 Oh, I know. Trust me.

  • Dude, I decided to risk my own neck and post the link to this on both the comments of the Sesame Street Company Account and Muppets Studios account. lets see what happens

  • @barrytoon Well, that might open the flood gates a bit earlier than expected. But ... so be it!

  • It's not much, but I'll host this video for you for a while. See what happens.

  • @Time4ATickle I appreciate whatever help is offered. Thankyou for choosing to host the video.

  • lol a little red blood clot. That was great and I agree. I heard a rumor once that they were going to make a muppets movie every year, I guess that never happened.

  • @Time4ATickle Well, he is. I feel he's severely slowed the creative process and believable outlook that made Sesame Street a hit in the first place.

  • @FroggleBird Personally, I blame the competition for forcing Elmo to be the "little red blood clot" he tends to be. Did you notice how many kid shows have come out such as Barney and Dora and the like cramping Sesame's style? Without Jim Henson to handle the situation properly, they just figured that the best way to counter them is to push Elmo to stardom. You may find this to be just an excuse, but that's where I stand on the Elmo debate.

  • @Pooleman96 I value your statement. I might bring up a counter to your debate if people tell me they want another video.

  • Nice

  • @Wynaut32 Why thankyou.

  • muppet fans gathering together?

that sounds like an idea. count me in!

  • @DicoSpeedLeader Coolness! Just be sure to clue in any other muppet fans you know.

  • @FroggleBird i'll get to that right away!

  • I agree about the Muppets. Everyone has jokes, but nobody has vision. Remember Gonzo singing "My Way"? That was important. Muppets in Space was not.

I'm not a puppetteer, but I am an artist, and I'll gladly throw in my support.

  • @ChibiGeeBee wow, nice jab at Muppets From Space, ouch

  • @ChibiGeeBee Always gonna need an artist, I appreciate it.

  • @FroggleBird Any time, friend, any time.

  • Yeah! Let's do this! By the way, awesome puppet you've got there!

  • @Gaarasgrl96 Thanks!

  • I wish I could but I can't ^^;

  • I think I've watched this video like 10 times now

  • We all know the Muppet Company has been falling apart, and I'm on your side that the direction they are headed is only leading to disaster. I'm glad somebody finally said it. I just hope this video reaches the right people.

  • @barrytoon Thanks, I'm glad that your glad.

  • I would like that, as well some of my friends.

  • @SirFerret Good ta hear. Hope ta see their coments.
