Pinball Illusions is the best pinball game I've played. And it was only the PC Shareware version :D... This table was the first and only one where I've ever played pinball as a object driven game. I loved Pinball Fantasies aswell but there it was just more like club the ball all over and get the highscore.
Whenever I see flowing graphics like that, I'm almost completely astonished that it's still OCS chipset it's using. Or did Illusions make the jump to AGA?
I owned this on the original PlayStation as True Pinball. Very good game -- I played the shit out of it back in the day.
The first two titles in this pinball series -- Dreams and Fantasies -- are now available for $7 each as downloads on the PlayStation 3 or PSP. I hope they'll also bring this one out, as I no longer have my copy of True Pinball.
This series was nothing short of fantastic. I play lots of pins, these days in Visual Pinball and Future Pinball. Somehow, I always come back to this series. The music, gameplay and design of the tables are just so good.
Also, the style and atmosphere the Amiga games have... I haven't seen that on any other system. Game developers back then really put their heart and soul into these games, and it showed. But maybe it's that "nostalgia" thing I hear so much about lately :-)
No nostalgia isnt ruling, pinball games really were that much better on the Amiga. As much as i loved Illusions, Slamtilt will always be the daddy imo.
Something's *definitely* wrong. I can only get the first 2 minutes, no matter how many times I refresh, and no matter whether I'm using FireFox or Internet Explorer.
It's impossible that my whole C: drive is full. But I think it's the actual browser cache. I just cleared both, and now I get up to 2:33 . Still not the whole thing, though.
Its more or less a flaw of Winuae, it doesnt record exactly 50 fps, but something like 49.95 , so the audio is always longer than the video, syncing it with each video part sometimes doesnt get perfect results.
1:09:18 - That was nice shot there. Some kind of juggling with a hit on the ramp between the two balls.

The intro track (over the fancy 3d backdrops and credits) reminds me so much of late 80's new order!

@progrocker69 yeah but somehow they screwed up the sound [ it's mono ]
that really kills the atmos
they play all right but i found that a dissappointment as i loved playing them on my old amiga
i too hope that '' true pinball '' gets a port but i hope it doesn't suffer along the way

Anyone know what song is being sampled at 35:49 during the Gym event? I know the "uh uh" has been used elsewhere.

Well, the whole thing plays for me now. I wonder if my original hypothesis was correct, that there were just too many connections?

My only guess is that your C: drive is almost full and it cant cache the whole video.

It looks like the whole video doesn't want to load (I'm only getting the first few seconds). Are too many people trying to watch this?

The music on the first one was awesome, you cleaned up on that one also.
djKanda 3 years ago
What you mean by "cleaned up" ?
cubex55 3 years ago
I think he means you played so well you "cleaned up" the competition, or high scores in this case. You really are a power player, ScHlAuChi.
FriendlyFloyd7 3 years ago
I see - but i really arent good, its all the power of savestates :P
cubex55 3 years ago
Is THAT how you got the audio to re-sync! I noticed in Pinball Fantasies that the audio would go out-of-sync, and after a while re-sync.
