  • HEY, WHAT COMPANY ARE YOU WORKING FOR???

  • Wow that's scary. But it makes teaching there a whole lot more interesting. Uggggh I wanna do this so bad but I'm not even in high school yet just like 8 months left. I hope I see some African Americans or at least some sort of native speaker.

  • Hey Messy, I´m American and speak no Japanese....I live in Germany now and speak a little German. But I would love to teach English. And I´ve always loved Japanese culture, couuld you give me any advice or anything man, I´m very interested. Thanks.

  • completely wrong! is too difficult to work in japan! bllsht

its easy only for eng / usa ppl who doesnt speak any language except own, quite lucky i guess! doesnt matter if they have degree or not company needs them and so provide them visa.many of those"special teachers"in own country maybe will be a simple public toilet cleaners!!

for other foreigners is really hard, company need high level of japanese and immigrations is crab, doesnt give visa! u have to find any other way to enter in japan!

  • @creatorediillusioni hey man , i sorry its harder for you to get a teaching job , maybe you can come to japan teaching Italian, those positions do exists. look at gaijin.pot , they have lots of information on all kinds of jobs

    good luck

    peace

    RG

  • @messypro1 thanks man of course i wrote a comment to all people in the same situation

    see ya

  • @creatorediillusioni I think he's making this video to explain how things are more for Americans. Good luck though! :)

  • i can't help but say this....you seem like an awesome guy haha. i'd learn english from you any day

  • Hey man did you go to Full Sail?

  • lol the room was dis small...he bought me mc donalds haha... cool vid man

  • Hey I wanted to know if you had an email address so we can talk. I am very interested in this type of job . If so email me EbonyLarmond@aol.com. Are you still in Japan now?

  • Wassup bro I am really thinking about going all the way over there and teach some English partner.

How much u paying in that place where u recorded these videos?

Cuz u know I wouldn't like to burn 2 hrs just for commuting

  • thats a good job, but bad salary :(

  • I'm going to be going to College in the Fall, I want to teach English in Elementary School. I will be going for a major in Elementary Education teaching English as a second language. Also a degree in Japanese Language. Any suggestions for just starting out in college for this goal?

  • Great video. I was looking on line for just this kind of video. Do you think the phone interview was the reason you got on? I dig the whole on the phone- makes the playing field more level.

  • Just a quick opinion question: I'm a sophomore in high school (don't know if it matters that it's a prep, but from what I've heard, it's harder than college lol), and I really want to work in Japan as an English teacher. What degree do you think would look best? I know you went for communications, would that or teaching be nice? Sorry this is so long, I just want to get started now so I don't have to deal with so much crap later. :P

  • very very go videos and very entertaining!!! thanks!

  • hi did you have to use a cv resume?

  • Thanks you rock! I want to know do they have 3 mos contract? And what school would you recommend??

  • Thanks again. It's really helpful to hear your experiences.

Those unknown variables make me nervous though. I guess it's the idea of being halfway across the world, stuck in this uncomfortable position...

  • Thanks for all your info! Sounds like you've been through a lot in your travels. I'm going through some of the same stuff and it helps to hear you talk about it.

  • is it true what they say about japanese girls?

  • what do they say about japanese girls ?

    LOL

  • Lols indeed. Man thanks for your videos though forreal. I've been trying my ass off to find SOME way to get into japan and this looks like the easiest =P

  • hey man, thanks for you story and help.

do you think some one with a major in japanese or TESL has a huge advantage?

Would majoring in Japanese really help at all? I am thinking about it right now, but I'm just a sophomore, thanks

  • If you plan to live for a while , having that under your belt will give u more options and help you in daily j life

  • A Japanese teacher late? Dayyumm!!! Yet another shitty double standard in the world of the ALT. That happened to me also...being left alone in the class. I'm pretty sure they aren't supposed to do that. Liabilities and so on.

  • i wanted to know: did you get to choose where in Japan you wanted to stay in or did they choose where to put you

  • Srry so late , but the companies want you close to the schools you teach at but if u want to commute for 2 hrs

    It's your choice

  • thanks for the reply very helpful. i got some friends who viewed your posting and now they all want to do this japan thing. i got 2 questions for u tho bro. what 2 skools did u find to be the best in your opinion? secondly, is it realistic for a group of 4 ppl to go together in hopes that the school would accomodate the group so they can live together?

  • sorry for the delay , i think most of the companies are the same its like comparing mcdonalds to wendys

as for the group thing , you can live together regardless of where you work , i would say split it up in case one of yall dont like your job , you can get your boy to put in a good word for at his

    you know what im saying

    peace

  • yup

  • I love these videos. Especially #4. Yeah. You make me wanna teach those fuckers.

  • i thought you needed a associate degree to teach...so actually i need a 4 year degree? that sucks

  • you never know ........... its free to apply

maybe you can win them over in some other area

  • what do you think the chances are of getting a teaching job without a degree?

  • it depends where you from , if your from the states , the chances are slim , nothing is impossible but you are going to be working alot harder than those with degrees

    good luck man

  • i'm actually from Australia :) learning some Japanese now and planning to do a TEFL diploma before i head off - should increase my chances somewhat

cheers buddy. thanks for the reply

  • Enjoying the story.
