Ya right Groovysongs, they wore the docs and braces during their skinhead days. They started wearing the chequed trousers and platform shoes after they changed their image.

Just so happens, when platforms and rupert cheques etc came into fashion slade and other glam groups made them popular so everyone started wearing'em.

My first pair of platforms were black and dark orange,lol, not many people wore'em till Slade hit the scene then they just took off, later revived by the Spice Girls.

Quiet Riot did a great cover of this song.. Alot of future Slade fans that were introduced to Slade through Quiet Riot's version of this song. If they had not covered it, there's alot of them who wouldnt even have given Slade the time of day.

It really pisses me off when the Quiet Riot fans diss Slade - without Slade's songs Quiet Riot would be NOTHING - they only had two hits, both nicked from Slade.

It is just a crying shame that nearly all the video footage of Slade is cheesy Top Of The Pops miming with outrageous glam outfits on...

What were Quiet Riot doing in 1973? Their homework, probably.

I saw Slade live and comparing them with Quiet Riots live gigs (lots on youtube) - Slade would have blasted their bollocks off ;-)
