  • Killer grafix!

  • Man, I actually have fond memories of playing this game when I was 6.

  • damn i can imagine inviting my friends over to pull all nighters playing this game.

  • 94 17 1598?

  • When I have kids, I am teaching them math with this game.

  • Anyone notice how smooth Mark speaks in this one?

He knows what to say for once.

  • how the hell could you do 90 X 17 without pen and paper!!?

  • I should homebrew a calculus one...

  • @AlderDragon

Calculus on the Atari 2600 is like having...you know what, just make it happen.

  • I played this yesterday (via an emulator on the xbox). I don't think this is played against the clock, just gives you 10 math puzzles and you see if you can get all 10.

Any other recommended educational games for the Atari 2600 ?

  • this video make me funny ahhhaahhha!!!!

  • @3:30

    My eyes just exploded!!!

  • They should make a game where it has you design an Atari 2600 game.

  • Does anybody smell their fingers and smell tacos?

  • i used to have a leap frog! :D

  • Some of the classic educational DOS games from The Learning Company were actually pretty fun -- particularly the Super Solvers games, like Midnight Rescue, OutNumbered and Challenge of the Ancient Empires (which had almost nothing educational about it, but was still somehow considered an educational game!).

And of course, who can forget the Carmen Sandiego series?

  • Also makes a good test for color-blindness.

  • Damn you calculators, why did you have to provide an easy way out? Now I don't know any math! D:

  • gggghhh!!!

  • Hooray for mentioning differential equations!!!

    And invisible numbers?!

  • i hate division

  • A true old school game for children teaching tool.

  • I think this would have been cooler if you used the keypad to input the numbers rather than the controller.

  • this is mixing games and maths that = wrong

  • A Cult Classic on The Atari... >.>

  • This "thing" looks so wrong, it's right!

  • I got a d on my science project because it was about video games helping hand eye coordination, but I did get extra credit on it so it added up to a c

  • 0/0 = Giygas

  • @IAmClearlyTheBest Actually it does start at 8. The reason why the 2600 isn't as advanced as, say, the NES is because the processor is not nearly as advanced. I think I remember reading that the original Famicom processor was based off of a 2600's.

  • There are calculators with more powerful processors than the 2600! lol

  • Well, beats mw2..now seriously, many new gamers relly need to play this game so they can kick start there brains again..

  • Turn this into a drinking game... THINK ABOUT IT!!!! =]

  • 90x17=804,299. Lmao

  • Why I have this ''Just because the graphic is better...'' quote in my head?

  • Wow. Times are a changin'. You don't see crap like this anymore!

  • I'm HORRIBLE at Math!

  • Invisible numbers?

  • Invisible numbers. LOL

  • This game looks idiotic.

  • @skarmoryman and that means looks are decieving....probably knows more maths than the average kid gamer does....

  • wow this looks like it was a basement project made in 2 weeks lol

  • You know Typing of the Dead? Why not "Algebra of the Dead"?

    2 + 2 = 4

    BOOM!

  • @adamnew123456 Now that would be AWESOME!

  • This was followed by the less successful game "Solve n'th order ordinary linear non-homogeneous differential equations before the time runs out".

  • lol invisible numbers. epic.

  • invisible numbers haha

  • Great review for a simple 8-bit game.

  • I think its 4-bit. But i am probably wrong

  • it isn't 8 bit, the NES and sega master system where 8 bit

  • @habadibidoe Yes, the Atari's 8-bit. It just doesn't have as advanced a processor. I don't think any game console is below 8-bits.

  • my bro read from a popular science magazine that video games give you self esteem

  • History lesson perhaps...

  • That game was epic

  • lol

  • lol at the end there. 0-10

  • 1+1 = a window

  • I WANT .... NO >>> NEED THIS GAME!!!

  • 1+1=11

  • noooooooo. 1+1=1 on a bun

  • lol

  • YAH MATH.....

  • Garg! Learning! Take it away! Take it away!

Atari time is for Berserk, not Mathematics!

  • 90 * 17 = (100 - 10) * 17 =

    100 * 17 - 10 * 17 = 1700 - 170 = 1530

if you can't pull this off in a few seconds you really suck at math oO

  • why make it so complicated? Just do it like this:

    90 * 17 = 90 * 10 + 90 * 7 (or 10*9*7 if you prefer that).

    =900 + 630 = 1530

    :D

  • i have an attention span but im 13 so maybe i left that era

  • jeez 90 time 17

  • That's not difficult. 90 times 20 is 900 times 2

    1800

    Subtract 90 times 3

    270

    Answer

    1530

  • u have a time limit tho :|

  • i got a leapfrog they are good

  • I just got this game just for the hell of it. I've been attracted to all the early 2600 titles (1977-1980), and this one is no exception.

  • I have to get this game because it is so unappealing!!

  • Maths & Racing = SHIT!!!!

  • Racing is only good if you can purposely wipe out so you can see it in slow mo.

  • I loved playing Math Gran Prix in school.

  • I like you your a cool guy:)

  • haha I had Math Grand Prix, but geez this game is just straight torture.

  • imagine being the kid who had the dick parent that bought this for them.....

  • Math + Atari = FUN

  • Wait, it has Custer's Revenge soundtrack! =O

  • I mean sounds, not soundtrack XD

  • 2 + 2 = 5, because the government says so.

  • This reviewer is great calm doesnt scream and funny

  • I'm a big supporter of learning from video games. Just look at Brain Age. That game is very popular, yet it's nothing but math and reading. My guess is to what made it popular is it makes people feel good when they see their brain age become younger.

  • Video games have helped me with my math:

20 buildings were originally standing and I destroyed 20 of them, how many are left?

    20-20=0

    Hooray for math!

  • @IronFury Story of my life.... yeah I'm a gamer.

  • Educational Video games are a great idea. Thanks to video games I'm prepared for zombie invasions, alien attacks, street fighting, and battling robots (they're the worst).

One thing I'm not ready for? Math. I never played this game.
