its not that hard, and when he only uses downstrokes his playing becomes stiff and choppy unlike if he had used alternate picking where his playing would have been fluid and natural

yes. end is definitly messed up, but technique is fine. To suggest something, you need to work a bit on your tremolo. Your standing tones are dead and boring. let them swim like muse do.
