  • @shayMTlocomotive The water never touches my lips. There is more air in the tube than I can breathe in even with my deepest inhalation.

  • Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:19-21

  • @kernelsac I made the tube long enough that I am just inhaling the air in the tube. The water never touches my mouth.

  • I am sorry, anytime one uses their lungs in water that has mosquitos larvae and spirolina, germs, are susceptable to some kind of lung disorder or infection, I have caught pnemonia I can't count the times, but, if you want to inhale that, be my guest. you probly are tougher than me. just sayin, cuz, humans are not infalable

  • looks like a great way to contract hepatitus, to me.

  • @HHammerHeadD

I don't know where you're prospecting, but the streams where I go are generally hepatitis free. :-)

  • indeed guys, one step beyond might be to have tee's smaller dia, lower down the pipe with mesh bag attached, this would allow you to uplift heavier objects like your looking for to drop out in to the bag for checking, provided the pipe was at a low angle this would be fine to work for you, hope it gives ya some thinking...

  • LOL, Hope someone on hand has life resuscitation skills in case ya suck too far....LOL.... I owned an old Norwegian fishing boat in the 1970s, HAV - BRISS, the bilge pump consisted of the following.....

  • get 1 length of 3" dia pipe, open both ends, @ lower end make some holes in the pipe side wall, aulternativly put a tee in the top section 1/3 from top. one long steel rod with handle one end, put a leather disc tight on other end of steel rod and washers each side, bolt tight, by pulling the rod up you suck up all water & stuff, below, adapt by putting a tee near top end, so no holes in side wall required..

    may keep ya lungs safer...LOL...
