"Home" was canceled in favor of "Mike and Maty," which (I believe) was canceled to make way for "The View." They inherited the same time slot, but they're completely separate shows -- unlike say, "The Early Show" which is basically just an evolution of "CBS This Morning" and "The Morning Program."
The Home Show aired from 1988-1994. Mike & Maty aired from 1994-1996. Caryl and Marilyn: Real Friends was a disaster and aired from June 1996-August 1997 until The View premiered.
ABC allowed affiliates to air Mike & Maty and Caryl and Marilyn for either 30 or 60 minutes and carry the show earlier than 11am ET. The View was a live one hour show so when it premiered it had to be at 11am.

So this would have been from the very tail end of KTVK's ABC affiliation, since the show ended in April and the New World deal was made on May 23?
