    But it isnt is strength training.

  • If you are training for strength, you lift a heavy weight generally above 80% of your 1 rep max (70% is acceptable).

    Now the greater the weight the greater the Mass hence thats covered.

    As for acceleration, you do reps as fast as possible to recruit as many motor units as possible and that covers acceleration.

    Thus that is strength training and you can measure your strength gains and see improvements in strength weekly.

    This video on the other hand has nothing to do with strength.

  • yes Strength is Force = Mass x Acceleration and Power = Force x Distance / Time but

    what you are saying about increasing explosive power is not the same as increasing strength. You get the 2 mixed up.

    To increase power in a punch you can either increase Force or Reduce Time (ie increase speed).

    Force is mass + acceleration. He is training the acceleration there, the explotion of the punch so yes this is a strenght training.

Strenght = force = mass x acceleration which is different from power which is power = velocity / time or in other words power = (force * distance) / time. Thus this is not strength training and its not power training either since you should try to activate 100% of motor units in the shortest time for power training. Hence, powercleans, push presses, plyomentrics and snatches are power training. What he is doing is endurance.

  • dude repeatings and stamina you get while sparring ,running ,jumping...just basic weighttraining with heavy weights make ur punch/kick very hard to resist..even trou block...dunno how about u but it helped me more then just pumping well good fitness training aand not "strengh"

    Mostly rotational with bands, good stuff for punching. All in all very specific.

    Clean technique was totally whack though. The endurance part with the weights can be done more effectively and mir Bindraben should really take care of the guy's clean technique as I work with many athletes that have been unable to fight because they destroyed their shoulder this way.

    All in all, good training that needs technique tweaks.
