I think "Quite A Beat" is equally as good if not even better that its top-side coupling "Let There Be Drums". It really should have been classed a double "A" Side. Both sides are as fine a disc and piece of rock n' roll solo drumming as came out of the twang genre.
To LoboGirl. I think you'll find the Rocket sound you are looking for is "Rocket Man" not by Sandy Nelson but The Spotnicks from the same era. Check it out. Its also superb. Yours In Twang ....Chris.
Way Kool! I had this album, it was on there with Let There Be Drums. Between Ringo & Sandy, I got started on drums. Regards, '62 Mathew St. (Total Retro Rock)
God, I remember this when I was about 8. The next door neighbors were having a party. The mom loved this record and played it....and "Let There Be Drums" a LOT that night.
I used to have the album "Let There Be Drums" and on it were two cuts that no one seems to have. They are "Slippin' and Slidin' " and "My Girl Josephine". anyone out there know where I can find 'em?
