  • Wonderfully said. There are so many issues here which have impacted on our lives.

  • Maybe he is a saintly man, I don't know... but he is too close to power, too damn close...

  • Ephraim is a cake not turned. Can't be eaten.

  • I have the uttermost respect for this man.

They manage to hold religious beliefs (which I do have), but draw a bridge between them and how they can be applied to reality. People like him explain things in a manner, patiently and calmly in a way everyone can understand, rather than simply saying 'the holy book X says that if you don't do Y, you're going to hell, sorry.' They really are a minority, and I believe that more of them could result in world peace.

    Blessings to you, Archbishop.

  • This guy is a Wizard.

  • He is probably the best archbishop britain has had in a long time.

  • @flashash2k9 I agree. I'm not, personally, a Christian, but he speaks with a greater awareness of ethics and morality that every single one of us (of any faith) can understand and agree with - and I think that's important. I respect him a great deal for his values and convictions.

  • @VonCreakyskin I'm Atheist. And it's people like him that keep me from completely hating religion.

  • The Archbishop is asking many of the right questions, but meaningful answers require recognition and understanding of man's Darwinian nature and the power structures of state and economy it has given rise to, but which our prodigious "prime-ape" brain subconsciously rationalises and hides from us.
