  • What year did this come out?

  • Big tunneeeee one the best rare groove classics

  • had this on a tape for over 25 years, car and tape got teef, I was more pissed about the tape than the shit car! Now I have the tune on Vinyl sooooooooooooooooo happy. MUSIC FOR BIG PEOPLE !!!!

  • Kinda of a "soft touch " feel

  • I wish with everything that O"Bryan would come back and that he would put this song on CD. So many people want to see him come back.

  • @megasweet051 He's coming back...live and in living color! Don't know that this will be released on cd but we can ask:)

  • @megasweet051 I'd been after it on CD for ages and then I found it on a compilation CD called "Something for the weekend 2"... :)

  • One of the "BEST"

  • This has a Robin Thicke feel to it.

  • Don Cornilius did him in~~

  • I think the man is a genius and should have hit the big time personally. What sound, what maturity of voice, the production is immaculate and the compositions are outstanding. How did he go wrong? So so sad.....

  • @Sal1675 when you hit a homerun musically and the public doesnt embrace it; its the record company's fault for not giving the right push!

  • TOOOOOP!!!!!! TIMLESS!!!!

  • where is music like this today? From the instruments to the vocals, you cannot find anything like this now? Can anyone tell me where he is now? jj-3

  • a track that will never ever sound nothing other than perfect ! 35,707 people cant be wrong!

  • Ooooooooh........ such good, good sexy groove. Days of my youth in '87. Reminds me of my time in L.A. Listen to the orchestration in this tune, the strings - EVERYTHING. Love the lyrics. This is what you call music, NOT seen today - sadly. Have this album safely tucked away.

  • Yeah, I miss good groove singers link O'Bryan.

  • reminds me of Rock with You but slower

  • O'Byran's way of singing was so mature & elegant.

  • What a tune, really takes me back

  • The Studio Musicians:

    James Gadson: Drums

  • Wow! I haven't heard myself on this in years. This was my favorite song to perform with O'Bryan. Those were great times for our careers

  • Maxwell ia Obryan wannabee!

  • O'Bryan is where it first started with me, sorry people I like him better than Micheal Jackson!

  • @Maygusta hey dont beat yourself up, i like the Gap Band better than Michael Jackson. R.I.P. Mike but Charlie Wilson is a better singer hands down!!

  • @elterrible2007 i don't know... but I feel Rick James song making abilities were on par with Mike's... my opinion

  • Totally Sublime! I LOVE this track! Thanks for sharing!

  • thanks for the music i missed you welcome back!

  • Sorry guys, curiosity made me do some searching. Apparently, DC did in fact compose several songs with O'Bryan (in partnership), including his most popular cuts like The Gigolo, I'm Freaky and Lovelite.

  • Thats what the album credits say on most of his songs, but I heard different. Someone mentioned that Don slapped his name on stuff......but I dunno.....lets put it this way, from the 80's up to today, people say bad things about black artists all the time to jepordize their careers, and with rumors that spreaded around O'Bryan, thats no exception. I've heard it all before: "Pebbles made TLC broke, Cherelle is still in crack houses, Janet's Super Bowl Stunt was intentional, Prince is gay...."

  • To follow up on the previous comments, I too recall that O'Bryan wrote, produced and even laid down some of the music for his albums. He reminded me of Prince in that regard, though his music was entirely different. Very talented. I've always wondered what came of him because he just sort of dissappeared.

  • THE SMOOTHNESS

  • Don Cornelius produced this great joint, much props!

  • Don Cornelius killed that man's career, he gets no props from me.

  • I see, can you tell me a bit more?

  • I grew up in that era, O'Bryan is only a year older than me, make a long story short, DC's wife came on to O'Bryan at a party for the bigshots or something, everybody was getting lit up, they left together and O handled business at a hotel suite he was staying at, with her, DC found out, well you know the rest, my man.

  • From what I heard, Don Cornelius did not produce and write this (or any) of O'Bryan's songs. On his first three albums, O'Bryan wrote and produced everything (except for "Still Waters", "Its Over", and "You & I" which were already remakes) with a little help.

  • Thank you so much for posting this tune....I love it to death....oooooooooooohhhhhh.

  • Nice song!

  • Yo, I have not heard this song in YEEEEEEEEARS. And, yes, I had to stress that.

  • great tune.in case anyone`s interested he released an album last year "2007" called "first" nice stuff on it.if i knew how to upload on here i`d put a few tracks up.

  • Thats a very nice lp and it picked up from where his last lp, Surrender left off, but only better (I think that Surrender was inferior to his first three albums and F1rst)!

  • I really enjoyed this album back in 1982. O'Bryan was and still is such a handsome guy. At least back in the day, we had someone to daydream about. I don't know about today. I know my sister had a great big crush on O'Bryan. She had his poster on her wall. As a matter of fact his new cd came out last year and the songs are wonderful! He has matured with time, with so much more to offer to his fans. His cd is called "F1rst! Hope you get to listen to it. He has a myspace. Just google it! Peace!

  • oh Lord thank you for this post iam a happy girl!

  • This is the type of music forever i'm digging forever.

  • whatsup thank you for the great post. I was hoping you might be able to post his whole first album. Once agian thank you from one o bryan fan to another

  • Big up 2 OB!!!

  • This song sounds like something like Maxwell would get that type of music when he writes stuff on it.
