If there is going to be a sequel Kerrigan Raynor with their new Dominion allies with Zeratul and they rest of the "good" Protoss fleet battling the Fallen One with his hybrid race and some zerg slaves, who knows mabye they'll make a Hybrid race that'll be cool... but it's probbly going to be a expansion as the outcomes from the choices in the actually missions such as the Doc. and Selendis...
The thing is I didn't make up the story they did... *spoiler* plus the whole story about Kerrigan and the Zerg is that she is made to free the zerg from the Fallen One as the Fallen One commanded the Overmind who was a Xel'Naga being used to control the zerg, to kill the Protoss, the Overmind had to listen, but to relieve himself he made Kerrigan( infested actually) and tried to use her to free the Zerg from the Fallen One's grasp, when she was de-infested it is unknown what happens to the zerg.
I think she still has Zerg in her, namely in her hair and also if you really look at her skin. Blizzard said Heart of the Swarm would play like an RPG, with Kerrigan gaining powers. Maybe this is kind of like Metroid, where Samus is stripped of all her upgrades and has to find them again.
@Buccura If you've played the campaign, Kerrigan's next actions are hinted at through a prophecy and a bombshell of a retcon involving the overmind and why it created Kerrigan.
I'm unsure that Kerrigan's mind is still zerg because Kerrigan's human mind calls out to Raynor and asks him "not to give up" moments before the end of the last mission.
I played the campaign, as well as the Protoss one, and I think it's possible that maybe she will lead an army of "Good" Zerg against the bad ones, the Dominion and the Protoss fanatics that you fought several times in the Wings of Liberty campaign. Of course, this is all merely speculation. We have to wait a year or more to find out :(
I honestly didn't think the artifact would successfully un-fest Sarah. As I was watching this for the first time, I was expecting her to rip Jim's throat out or give some indication that she was still evil.
So is she still going to be the protagonist in Heart of the Swarm?
@RarendtheBlack I think she will be the protagonist in Heart of the Swarm. She is de-infested, to the extent that she can gain the aspects of the human heart and mind. The Zerg are literally programmed by the "Fallen One" to destroy everything. To undo this, Kerrigan gets some human time, but comes back to the Zerg takes possibly a few under her control, or perhaps resurrects the Overmind, so that the Zerg somehow have their evil programming undone, and help defeat the hybrid race.
@suemorphplus2009 The expansion of Star Craft 2 Heart of the Swarm isnt a sequel, the mission and story is about what happened after the Brood War and before the Wings of Liberty... then the Void is all about the Protoss from after the Brood War to the ending of Wings of Liberty...
yeah but its kinda like a person being forcably injected with loads of drugs which change you loads physically and mentally, then he/she killing loads and loads of people, you carnt really blame the person, you would blame the person that injected him/her e.g the overmind.
@epk1942 pfff dude... there is nothing like that

@RarendtheBlack
her hair is still funky, and her eyes still seem golden
possible friendly zerg?
alternatively:
what she was doing all those years with the swarm.

I'm not sorry for Tychus.
Sure Kerrigan deserves to die but Zeratul
told Raynor that she was part of a bigger deal
so killing her like that would be a waste.
