An individual could probably buy an M4, but it would be easier just to buy an AR-15 "M4 lookalike." I mean, all you really need is a collapsing stock, 16 inch barrel, and rail. It'll look like what the troops in Iraq use for urban warfare, except that it's a civilian AR-15.
@NathanEG217 check the NFA classifieds. For a select fire m16 (has to be manufactured before 1986) the cost is about 12,000-20,000 plus the cost of a tax stamp. A civilian AR15 is $800+ for decent model but it's not a true M4 or M16 it's an AR-15 clone or m4gery it's only semi auto.
@GunWebsites the e at the end makes the letter I sound like its alphbetical name so it should be car bine but that dudes a troll he was on another one of your vid saying that, i think it was the m1 vid
@TheAustralianBloke because Americans aren't direct descendants of the British. After all, the first Europeans in America were Spanish. We are descendance of many non-English speaking people so some of our vocabulary is going to sound more like a French, German,Spanish than English.
It's too bad you guys can't import Chinese guns. Most AR-15 are pretty pricey anywhere but I just picked up a Chinese-made M4 here in Canada for $675 and I love it! I got the Norinco CQ-A. Good video. Keep up the good work.
@christang721 "issued" was the key word you missed in that comment i was saying issued weapons not civilian bought weapons there is a difference. military/gov/law.... are usualy "issued a weapon as a tool of there trade, these weapons are not too go shooting trees with they are too do the job and return or buy once decomissioned same as a battleship same as a jet fighter people are able too buy old russian migs but you don't see too many flying the new jf35, (google it). have a god day.
as of January 2011.. Troops are being issued the M4A1 with a heavier barrel under the forend.. This is part of the M4 improvement and update program.. and is intended to solve the barrel over heating problem troops are incountering in Afganistan with high round count fire fights..
@christang721 issued weapons are still property of the government or branch they are ordered for until the day they are decomissioned or destroyed, and sold or salvaged. and only policeman are allowed to go home with service weapon (sidearm) for obvious reasons.
@GunWebsites I DONT HAVE TIME TO RESEARCH IT. RAPTURE SON!. lol, no but i just remember reading that marines use the M16, and i know that M16s, and the rifle gas system is a HELL of alot more reliable, so i assumed that they would always use it. Because marines make sense.
@theGreenaffect The 416 is basically an attempt to improve the standard Ar-15\M-16. Their basically the same except the 416 uses a short stroke piston system as opposed to the direct gas impingement of the M-16. The upper receivers are interchangeable between the 2.
@GoldenRing1989 the cycle is a little sharper on the shorter M4 gas system since its under higher pressure and has a shorter buffer system. But it's really no big deal, my M4 upper on a semi-auto only lower functions as reliably as my 20" AR 5.56 and my 19.5" AR in 6.5G.
@TheAlexagius Yea you can or basically you can become a Class 2 FFL/ 7 SOT in order to build one. But you can only keep one for demonstration purposes.
@GunWebsites I meant one for demonstration purposes basically, which one can do. personally I wouldn't just because of the paperwork. I would much rather just have my transferable M16A2, like I do now, on a trust.

Coudl you tell me the difference between the HK416 and the M4 and M16?
theGreenaffect 9 months ago
@theGreenaffect The 416 is basically an attempt to improve the standard Ar-15\M-16. Their basically the same except the 416 uses a short stroke piston system as opposed to the direct gas impingement of the M-16. The upper receivers are interchangeable between the 2.
Primeda 9 months ago
@theGreenaffect The HK416 uses a Gas Piston system to cycle the Bolt Carrier. While the M4/M16 uses a Direct Impingement system.
But there are companies that make Gas Piston Uppers for the AR-15. And, you can get Gas Piston Conversion Kits for the AR-15 too..
