Depends on your skill level. Best way to go is use a metronome,start it slow then build ya speed up while carefully watching when you mute. I've noticed a lot of vids on the vomit riff and people play the notes right but they dont mute them well. Atm im running over the vomit riff, I wanna make sure I can get it close to perfect at least haha.....Btw nice vid YourFavouriteGuitar

Maybe in pitch, but you miss out on a lot of timbre with a full maple neck. People play this sort of metal on strats because they don't have any other guitars.

I used to have an EVH Wolfgang in my line up. The damn thing sounded so great, but it had a maple neck. Not only did it voice itself differently than I would have liked, but maple gets sticky after you've sweat a while. Maple will also never be as fast as Rosewood/Ebony/Satin, etc. I ended up getting rid of it for that very reason.
