  • Where the heck ist that???...I know Hollwood Blvd. but I don't know any building that come close to that where Raqual is dancing around...Is it torn down maybe?

  • @Filmdude0 hey guy. the location is near to the corner of hollywood and highland blvd. i know because many years ago i lived in la and had to change bus there and thus saw it everyday. may not exist now but it did then. loved this film. highly underrated. thanks for your precise question.

  • @newmexicoguy thanks a lot....I looked up the block number I could make out and yes...close to Hollywood/ Highland right oppostite to the Chinese Theatre :)...yes they tore down that whole part....wow...that looked so different...and look at the trees....no palm trees yet lol...thats so funny :)

  • @newmexicoguy hey: thanks for the precise question and reply. i guess i could have gone to google maps but did not as i do not like google. there have been so few memorable title sequences in film that makes this one so memorable. racquel dances so beautifully-she is so graceful. a totally innovative film with an orignal idea. quite rare these days with all those cgi effects. you seem to know a great deal about film. cold here today in new mexico-your reply warmed me up.

  • not so great movie but the opening intro is so memorable and genuine to me. How Myron imagines himself as a beautiful woman dancing is awesome. I hope a director out there recreates this scene.

  • Probably the most "camp" movie to ever come from a major studio (in this case 20th Century Fox). Of course, it went way over the heads of most viewers when first released..including me (I saw it at a local drive in as a teenager in the early 70's). THANKS for posting this...a real time capsule!

  • It's too bad Sarne never read the book! This film stinks as much today as it did in 1970! Sorry, just pathetic and terrible.

  • I love it! The plot makes sense IF you watch it 12,456 times.

  • This is gping to sound nuts, but, I liked this movie. it was so funny and wrong!

  • Surely, one of the strangest works to ever come out of Hollywood...

  • That dress is to die for! Theodora Van Runkle is a genius. Not one of Raquels costumes is bad. The movie has aged pretty well also. :)

  • It's a great feel good intro. Thanks for posting. I like it when RAQUEL is turning and turning in the reflection of the glass to simulate the turning cowgirl on the billboard in the movie.

  • I enjoyed this movie. Raquel Welch was awesome.

  • a Hollywoodland kilt of movie

  • I don't know, I think I'm losing my sanity or my trust in the best of professional critics, but from all the hearsay and word of mouth about this film I have to say I disagree with them. This film is like a movement in the campy comedy genre, and showcases the funniest aspects of Hollywood from its preference of sexuality, to producers, and sex symbols past and present. So Gore Vidal must not have respect for an absurd work. A tainted film to most, but a treasure to a select few, which I am of.

  • There are only a handful of films that truly capture the feel and atmosphere of Hollywood and the movie industry. SUNSET BLVD, THE BAD AND THE BEAUTIFUL and MYRA BRECKINRIDGE are the best examples. Always an underrated film, Myra is a masterpiece in it's way and a wonderful comedy. Directed as if it's a dream. Shame so many of the critics could not get past the rape scene in the film. Even to this day, that scene disturbs alot of people.

  • is it bad that i laugh hysterically every time i see the rape scene? its the inserts and her whooping and all

this opening is actually my favorite bit in the movie...

  • this is the best opening for a movie, i love this movie so much even though it is supposed to be the worst movie of all time. I just love the two of them dancing, its so sweet!

    and raquel is so pretty!!

  • Raquel is an incredible actress and dancer!

  • Your kidding right? Please God, tell me your kidding......I feel faint!

  • Ok, WHO today has that great a natural body, that great gracefulness of a professional dancer, natural big boobs and a is naturally campy and exciting?

    Answer: NO ONE!

Best body alongside Lynda Carter in Hollywood history. sex symbols are jokes today compared to Raquel unless you are into washboard abs and no hips.

  • Anyone who is a female or tranny in a porno. Lynda Carter is OK but really mean I hear.....

  • oops sorry saw you channel! you ARE into washboard abs! hahaha cheers mate!

  • Oh Lord, couldn't care less. Personality!

  • Bravo, Rex Reed can dance. But no one can believe it. He sure can't act, but he puts down everyone else.

  • I love this...whatever it is!!!!

  • This has been deemed one of the worst movies of all time to which the senselessness of this title sequence would seem to confirm. But give credit where credit is due: Hard to take your eyes off it.

  • WONDERFUL TITLE SEQUENCE. I love the way Raquel as Myra is introduced in the reflection of the glass turning just like the cowgirl does in the billboard of this movie.

  • A guilty pleasure of a film... Thanks to 20th Century Fox for finally releasing it on DVD!

  • thanks for posting this!

    i looove this intro

  • OH YEAH... Raquel in her prime! 'Nuff Said!
