y would you flat iron it wen its already straight???that just doesnt make sense ppl straighten there hair when its already straight!!!!!! you should curl it
Thanks girl, u have been a big help, I stopped going to the hairdressers bec they would take ur money put the cream on your hair, leave it and not comb it in & wen I get out it still kinky, u seem to care about wat u do bec u do it professionally. need to start ur own hair salon and don't stop till u got a handful, u wud do very well, txs a million child. Once u bless some1, the blessing will alwys come bac to u, not every1 wud do wat u do just to help.
my hair still be curly after i perm it . nd when i blow dry it , it never comes out straight ! it still be frizzy ! AH i need ju ta come perm it for me lol .
Where i live people dont even know this type of hair. So i couldnt go to a hairdresser to get it done. But luckily my mom grew up with this hair so she does it for me =)
guhh ,you are so countryy . but aint nothing wrong with it . im from alabama so i cant talk . haha . but you are so lucky to have the hair you have . Oh! and you are so beautiful .
What would you recommend to regrow edges? I have very very healthy hair that I can thank my beautician for. But about a month or 2 ago I noticed a small peice of my edges on the right side of my head has broken off badly. I have no idea why....
wat do i do if i have baby fine hair should i use a lye relaxer or no lye im tryin to fine a good hair regimen to use and a good relaxer as well and i dont know wat to do
Your hair is sooo healthy i love it and have to agree with the triming any who can u give me some tips my friend has veeeeerry thin hair but its verryyy coars i stoped her from going to salon cuz they were leaving the perm for 10m i dont perm my hair but isnt that too much time on very thin hair ? soo what perm would u recomend and for hoe long throw in there what shampoo is more convienet thanks!!
so is it better to sit under a dryer or blow dry? and im using motions products but a revlon relaxer a regular but i have thick and somewhat corse hair should i get the mild? i have the type of conditioner that you put in and wash out after 15minutes, should i just find a good leave in?
it is better to use a dryer because it is less direct heat on ur hair....plus if u use the big jumbo rollers and comb ur hair out....it really gives hair sum volume and body!!
thats how my hair looks after i blowdry which is so good because i usually don't HAVE to straighten like with a flat iron unless i really truely want it to be flat lol.
i had just gotten outta the shower when i watched this and it made me want to put in some leave in conditioner so i paused the video and went and put some in lol.
btw
i have a question. Is your hair naturally straight or does it dry straight because of the comb on your blow dryer? cause if so im getting me one of those lol
i was born with straight hair but i was just curious to see what the process of how relaxing went and wow that's kinda hard work but it looks great XDD!!!
you shouldn't use a comb insert on your blow dryer because they are cut from molds and by nature, molds leave little seams and those seams break your hair when blow drying its better to use a brush... just a small tip i got along the way.
I am scared as hell to relax my own hair. I'm afraid that I will miss some of it while rinsing and my hair will fall out or something else might go wrong. my hair is kinda long. It's at my shoulder blades. I know i need to clip my ends too but im also afraid to do that. Do you have a tutorial on that?
I'm in the same boat! My hair is about the same length and I need to clip my ends, but I don't want to cut anything wrong. And I'm scared of a perm! I don't like going to the hair salons anymore, but I need my hair cut. Its so hard to find a good hair stylist.
It will move as long as its healthy and you keep heavy grease and oil to a minimun and I do mean minimum. I've seen ladies who have the so-called " nappy hair" who have serious ' swang' . Don't believe the texture lies.. LOL!!!
thats what i am afraid of, that only happens because some ppl dont wash the whole thing out with shampoo, when they relax/texturize, and do it tooo often.
I have really short hair; less than an inch long and I want to try relaxing it myself cos its just too expensive to go to the salon everytime I need to get my hair looking nice (ie all the time) are there any tiips you can give me about how to apply the relaxer?
if i want to relax my hair for the first time do i do the roots first then go back and do the rest of my hair or roots and the hair at the same time.. also im hispanic will the relaxer u used work on me???
a big thankyou for these videos. my good friend needed her regrowth relaxing. and i was volunteered to help out. i am not a hairdresser, and i had never even seen this done before! out of all thehow to vids i found yours the most helpful. i did my friends hair 3 days ago and so far it hasn't fallen out. in fact it looks quite good :)
Girl...........you are truly blessed & talented!!! I stumbled across your videos on here yesterday and i'm just amazed. I ran out today to Sally's to buy some Aphogee products per your suggestion. Keep posting all your great videos!!! :)
What kind for relaxer do you use..? Oh and what kind of moisturizers do you put on it? I need to hang out with you for real you have all the right tips!
How do you keep your hair so healthy, it's obvious that it is? My hair is extremely dry and I don't even bother oiling my scalp or hair because it's useless, my hair just soaks it up,my mom oiled my hair constantly and it still shedded alot, Now I have 4 children that stress me to the max and so it just falls out and sheds alot, Do you have a solution? I shampoo with Infusium shampoo and use the leave in treatment , then blow dry.
wow, gal i just love yer hair, i wish i'll get that same silky hair the next time i retouch. Problem is i was going to the salon back home in africa but am in europe since three years and my hair is really damaged, i dont know why, but i guess i've been relaxing it the wrong way. Thanks hun for your ever helpful advice
hey girl!! i noticed u said that u only use relaxer straight out the jar. i have tried using these type of relaxers i used motions but i felt my hair went really dry and brittle afterwards. Do u kno what could have caused this?
Hello, Affirm, Epitome and Designers Touch, Revlon realistic were the only relaxers I used while working at the shop. IMO Revlon it better than affirm because it leaves your hair silky smoothe..Affirm is a great relaxer but it doesn't leave my hair feeling the way I like. To each is own though:)
OMG i'm soooo glad you posted this! I'm over here like i've been doing it allll wrong! My ends are all crazy and fried I guess from putting perm on it? Girl I think you saved my hair lol
When using a Lye Relaxer, does it require the Activator that the no-lye comes with to mix? Or do you use it straight out of the jar. I used to get hair done faithfully on Thursdays but here lately...with a 10 yr old that needs hers relaxed to, I can't afford it every month.... I use the No-lye though with everything in the box. Your reply is greatly appreciated. I love all of your tutorials...thanks lady!!
O I always c the one u held up (Revlon) and I always thought 'where is the liquid that I'm supposed to pour in it'. I know now. 1 more question... I do my own relaxers and it will be so very pretty, bouncy, shiny, etc...for the first week or so...after that it becomes dry dry dry and sticks out instead of falling gracefully on my face (or what have you). I use Olive Oil Oil sheen. Isoplus dries mine out overnight so I switched. I use a cond. faithfully. And QP moisurizer.
Hey Golden, just wanted to thank you for posting this tutorial. I've been relaxing my own hair since I was in middle school and relaxing the wrong f%@kin' way....no wonder my damn hair keeps breaking. lmao. I can't wait til my next touch up. This tutorial was very informative to me. Thanks so much. Oh yeah, love, love, LOVE your make up tutorials as well. Keep the videos coming!
proof that your hair can be relaxed and healthy! those naturals almost got me but its too much work lol! The relaxed hair started breaking off the new growth and who wants that! I love your results, as always!
Thanks for posting this video. I will be relaxing my own hair in a couple of weeks and this really helps being this will be the 1st time. All of your videos are great! I noticed you mentioned in the video that hair that drys fast is a good thing? Why?
i guess ur right. i have waist length hair (when blown completely out) but i never trim my ends. but im so used to my length that id rather have scraggly ends as my mom calls it. but i know i need to trim at least 3 inches off.
EXACTLY! when i blow dry my hair i come out lookin like krusty the clown. or like i just put my finger in a socket. it looks all static-y! and hers looked so soft, shiny, && straight. && it had movement to it.
Lol..Hi, are you using a heavy duty dryer..Also you want to definitely have an attachment to go on your dryer..The comb helps straighten while drying..If you try this method u should have better results:)
LeCheryl, how do you still have hair without neutralizing????LOL.. I'm trippin on that! I would never attempt to relax without neutralizer. How do get away with that? Peace, QACC
Lol..I never liked the way neutralizing shampoo made my hair feel. I started perming my own hair as a teen and I ran out of neutralizing shampoo once... I called a hair stylist and asked her what could I do and she then told me about the non akaline rule..Been using it ever since..
Yasmin,..It's hard to me to tell you if I can't see it or touch your hair..Is it dry and brittle...do you get your ends trimmed on the regular..These things are a big factor in healthy hair..I will do a vid today talking about how to get and maintain healthy hair..:)
Probably because the dryer isn't hot enough..check the voltage of it..The higher the voltage, the straighter it will be..also get a good comb to go on ur dryer..that helps as well. HTH.
I was like " I always blow dry my hair naked, after i'm out of the shower..." lol

Aphogee vitamin..no alcohol added. I mainly use it as a heat protectant before blow drying.

I need to clip my ends :( I get ridiculously attached to my hair but you have motivated me. Thanks :)

i guess ur right. i have waist length hair (when blown completely out) but i never trim my ends. but im so used to my length that id rather have scraggly ends as my mom calls it. but i know i need to trim at least 3 inches off.

I use a blow dryer with a attachment but it still comes out thick and puffy...srry had to erase what I said I thought I had said puffy

use a agent, like paul mitchell super skinny serum or Chi silk fushion. It will help keep the heat under control.

EXACTLY! when i blow dry my hair i come out lookin like krusty the clown. or like i just put my finger in a socket. it looks all static-y! and hers looked so soft, shiny, && straight. && it had movement to it.
mzmalaya2428 3 years ago
Lol..Hi, are you using a heavy duty dryer..Also you want to definitely have an attachment to go on your dryer..The comb helps straighten while drying..If you try this method u should have better results:)

Hey GC, when you are flat-ironing what do you put on your hair to protect it? Are you doing a flat-iron tut? Thanks :)
up4itgal 3 years ago
Hi, I just spray olive oil, oil sheen before I start flat ironing:)

I called a hair stylist and asked her what could I do and she then told me about the non akaline rule..Been using it ever since..
goldenchild789 3 years ago
explain the non akaline rule to me?? I thouht the neut. shampoo was essential. Wow, im learning so much.

my hair is dry and brittle.
but everytime I get my hair done, I get it trimmed to remove the split ends.
it is super sticky and stiff!
I just want it to flow, you know?
yasmin2893 3 years ago
My first 2 were Hair Straightening,
and then I decided to just relax it in my third try.
yasmin2893 3 years ago
Yasmin,..It's hard to me to tell you if I can't see it or touch your hair..Is it dry and brittle...do you get your ends trimmed on the regular..These things are a big factor in healthy hair..I will do a vid today talking about how to get and maintain healthy hair..:)

HELP!!!
I have my hair straightened every 6 months to avoid scalp burning.
I've only done it thrice and it's thinner now because I have this unstoppable hair fall!
My question is, how do you manage to maintain it without your hair being damaged???
yasmin2893 3 years ago
HI Yasmin, you're confusing me..are you getting your hair straightened or relaxed..there's a difference.
goldenchild789 3 years ago
I wish you could do mine. Come on down to south Central L.A.

i love your vids goldenchild...i honestly look forward to them when i log on youtube.
do you happen to know any reasons why when i blow dry my hair, it's seem poofy afterwards?
S2Rena512 3 years ago
Probably because the dryer isn't hot enough..check the voltage of it..The higher the voltage, the straighter it will be..also get a good comb to go on ur dryer..that helps as well. HTH.

Nice.
