Hey Bobby Seger......I've been a fan of yours for EVER....but your last tunes are ummmmm .............sounding like you're grasping at straws!!!! I love you and your voice ....................keep it real Bob keep it real...like waaaaaaaaay back when put your heart into it like before!!! love love love you!! <3 xo....I know we need new but don't just sing what they tell you!!!....YOU know what you like and your fans!!!
Oh btw....why don't you ever come to central Canada....
Actually..... Tom Waits did write this song. Lee Rocker covered it on the 2000 tribute album to Tom Waits by the same name. Rocker was born in 1961, this song was released in 1974 on Tom Waits' The Heart of Saturday night. There's no way he wrote this when he was 13. Thou shalt not take credit from Tom where credit is due to Him.
@jimmymcclukcluk God your right. I apologize to Tom and you. Mostly Tom. Thanks for setting me straight. Great song huh. I love everything Tom has done. Have about twenty of his albums though i need the other twenty. Always looking for accurate info on him. Thanks again.
quite cool it's got it's own charm but I think tom waits got the tone right for this song.

So would this be considered a Chicago blues song or jazz?

Tom Waits' version is WAY better. This sounds really uncreative and uninspired...

@Fimbultyr Bob Seger transposed this song into the key of F. Personally, I think it's an improvement.
