    facebook fann page

  • those are some UGLYass dogs.. holy crap!

  • I made a 3 minute podcast as part of my radio work. The title is Should Greyhound Racing be banned? I argue why it shouldn't be banned! Have a listen - as I am willing to hear both sides of the argument. Check out my channel and click on the link to my webpage to check it out!

  • i have two greyhounds!

  • That dogs is so amazing! I respect them! That sport is not horrible, they that call it "horrible", "animal cruelty". Think like this, the dog can not stand like a shampion if he/she didn't love to run! If the dogs love it, they can race.

  • @MaggaLeon you dont understand. they abuse these dogs if they dont win. if you dont believe me type ''greyhound abuse'' and a bunch of titles will show up! it is sadly, all true.

  • @greyhoundlover572 .....just cause a few bad apples does it doesn't mean the whole industry does it to their dogs.....just sayin....

  • i have an adopted greyhound because these guys kill the dogs left and right

  • These dogs are amazing...its just sad and a shame how stupid people take advantage of their natural skills to get money and they dont think twice about the animanl...

  • @RosehillEnt you are so right! i agree! greyhounds are my favorite dogs!

  • @RosehillEnt because naturally the dogs have better things to do...

  • i hate how they snap their tails to make them run faster

  • Hate to be the mailman at that house

  • 4:00, there they are racing finally.

  • outsider pipping the fav in the last few strides, where have I seen this before....

  • I don't mind racing, the dogs love it. The only thing that is bad is how the owners and trainers treat the dogs sometimes and what happens to them after. I've met a few people who race greys and they treat their dogs like kings then they are rehomed into loving families. It's just some people. Love greyhounds they are amazing loving dogs :)

  • i think after they race they should all get a rabbit and the winner should either get 2 rabbit or a large rabbit and a few pieces of cat food or a bone

  • they should be given water right after the race and left alone to relax

  • i am defiantly adopting a grey hound to help it out

  • shut up ye fuken cunts dat think greyhound racing is cruel all ye woundnt no a greyhound if it bit ye in de fuken arse

  • "TVG" Coming Soon... *Horse Racing *Dog Racing *Duck Racing *Pig Racing *Horse Wheel Racing *Sheep Racing *Ostrich Racing "TVF" Coming Soon... TV Farm. TVG.Com
  • how can you honestly say this is cruel? if you watch the dogs are chasing a furry toy around the track. If this is cruel then surely taking your own dog for a walk and throwing a ball for it is just as cruel?

Because theres so much money involved with this racing, these are some very well kept animals. Its very rare you find a trainer that treats them badly.

  • Everyone thinks that the racing is the horrible part "Greyhounds shouldn't race, it's just cruel." That's not it. I rescued a greyhound and you'd think that they would stop running, but i literally had a ring around my backyard from my greyhound running around over and over again. I didn't force him. They really do love it. But it's the cruel trainers that stuff them in tiny cages. He had scars from rubbing up against a small crate. He's much better now. R.I.P. Forbes <3

  • at 3:19 you see the lady acualy dragging the dog in! :( poor babys.

  • granted there are greyhounds that are abused or neglected but the people that are saying ther torchered are forgeting what they were bred for running . Granted im sure they would prefur a home to a crate but greyhounds love running whether its lure coursing , racing or chasing something in a field ther doing something they love.

  • This is a stupid sport lol.

  • @JSAN1D4D Unlike football or basketball, of course.

  • mistake torture or not, it looks awesome

  • I have one of these beautiful animals :)

He is the grandson of one of Australia's fastest greyhounds called ''Brett Lee''

Everyone, if your thinking of adopting one of these, please do, they are beautiful, calm and great.

Mine celebrates his 5th birthday today :D

Had him for a year already :D

  • stop racing these poor animals you devils!

  • @normalguyable Greyhounds live to run. Its not abuse or torture. Perhaps if you stopped moaning and homed one yourself you would know.

  • whoop that mailmans ass

  • the racing i don't but too much of well give them a heart attack lower the number of races just a bit and don't kill the losers but them in a good foster home or a no kill shelter there problem solved dirty work is done

  • What may happen to these dogs when their career is over certainly is disturbing, but there are many rescues and thousands of people who adopt out these dogs. To those who say it is torture, or abuse, I say you can't make an animal run, and they do it because they love it. Greyhound racing is similar to horse racing. Try making a 1200lb animal do something it doesn't want to do...kind of hard. This is an industry, same as horse racing, and a load of PETA people aren't going to shut it down.

  • stop torturing these animals this is abuse!!!!

  • If I find out that I'm going to be a dog in my next life, I'll just beg not to be a pit bull in America or a Greyhound in the UK

  • @RatedRKingofKings Or a Buly Kuta in Afghanistan

  • 10 future derby winners will come from college causeway, killahan phanter and shelbourne aston without a doubt

  • This is sick!

  • wow great race #4 was amazing. nice vid. also btw.

  • crippled with arthritis by 5 years old and then most put down,if not rescued..what a life,eh?..All for the pleasures of the gambling fraternity... :/

  • so many people want to jump on this video as a breach of animal rights and how barbaric the sport is...please read up on the modern day sport and not the sport of ten or fifteen years ago. Many organisations are in place to make sure these dogs find loving owners after their racing days. Campaign about things like shark finning, a real and obvious barbaric tradition instead of this, a sport where dogs enjoy running and are cared for, during racing days and most importantly after they've retired

  • i got a greyhound that used to race XD his name Jett :P

  • Greyhounds were born to race, bred to race and love racing. Its not animal abuse at all. They enjoy it.

  • @DrumGEA

The greyhound racing industry breeds approximately 50,000 puppies each year. Of these animals, only 15,000 actually become racing dogs. The rest are "retired," used as breeding stock, or, in a more likely scenario, shot and destroyed.

  • @DrumGEA The racing industry also sells thousands of dogs considered unfit for racing to laboratories, which experiment on animals. Thus, greyhound racing functions not only as a "sport" and gambling enterprise, but as a breeding facility for cruel vivisection practices.

You are apparently not along the most intelligent but atleast have the decency in you to think twice before posting anything so extremely stupid.

  • i have one that was a racer its our second their awsome dogs

  • Look at the crate rub on number 6 :( I wish this sport could continue without the horrible conditions. People are so selfish.

  • oh tyrur last how can it be??

  • look how they are shaking :(

  • I have a greyhound, he's my second, and honestly, greyhounds shouldn't have to go through this. They're too delacte, and they're so sweet. A lot still get put down after they retire. We need to stop that. SAVE THE GREYHOUNDS!!!!!!!

  • omg almost like horse racing lol

  • getting chased by one of these must be a nightmare!!!

  • @mushufreak Trust me there very fast but usually very calm have 2 already going on 2 (I'm hoping to get an italian one thats mini! lol)

  • These dogs do love it . Its what happens after they finish racing that can be cruel, I have volunteered at retired greyhound kennels for the last 4 years please anyone that can support your local branch help them out or rehome a greyhound they are such beautiful affectionate dogs.

  • @MsMoneyback HI! Have you ever heard of Greyhound Angels? go to there website its a great place! Do you have any Greyhounds? I have 2 join my club its called Greyhound (Retired racer) lovers

  • @MsMoneyback good on you

  • @MsMoneyback i plan to get a grayhound as a hearing dog, since im deaf in real

  • @sango1161 you need to learn to spell brian you pillow biter

  • @casper20096 im not kidding.

  • @MsMoneyback Im gunna be Adopting one from the Greyhound Placement in Agusta :)

  • God, I didn't know this existed! It look like horse racing but with dogs!!Cool! I'm insane by every racing or jumping animal so...it's one more thing to be crazy about lol

  • They run as fast as wolves! 43 mph!

  • NO thats not the fastest land animal

  • @xoxTaniaNxox cheetah

  • @mugger883 I know a cheetch is but now theyre saying a austrailian beetal runs like 100mph :|

  • Wta race yarr

  • fuck you

  • 3rd actually, after the cheetah( 60-80 mph) and the double horned antelope (50 mph)

  • @madmax2412 Don't forget the race horses...

  • trying to stop a grehound to run is like trying to stop a dolphin to swim, a falcon to fly, or a or lion to hunt. its against there nature, its all they know how to do.

  • @OurGreyhounds what are you talking about, this is what the dogs are bred to do, they wouldn't be the same without running

  • How fast are these beastes going?:D

  • i believe they can reach UP TO 45mph in about 1-2 seconds

  • they have been clocked at 40 m.p,h

  • That winning dog is not a greyhound, it is a sloughi which is the morrocan saluki...she could have run like that for half an hour since they are hunting gazelles in the desert.

  • You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about...lol!

That is most definitely a greyhound!!!

  • If that dog escapes your backyard, you're going to need a jet pack to catch that speedy beast

  • holy shit! there friken fast dogs!

  • how far are these races?

  • I'm in the USA, but from the looks of this race, I guess about 500 yards (450 m)

  • thank you

i'm comparing it to the track i run on to try and get a feel for how fast these dogs are

  • my aunt adopted two of them. we can only hope that someday all the retired racers will get loving homes.

  • :) God bless you for saving an animal

  • Thank you. We were lucky he was waiting on us. He has actually fattened up. 85 lbs now. Loves to run still. We throw toys in the backyard. What power when he runs! Bring him back inside and he flops on his bed! He is the best!

  • @nikkyspirit how?

  • i didnt know that they were the 2nd fastest land animal on earth

  • @chillyman99 It may or may not be true that Greyhounds are the second fastest land animal. The Pronghorn Antelope (though not actually an antelope) has been clocked faster.

  • the causeway is a machine!!

he'd beat aston with his eyes closed f he was right that time!29.21 in first round of derby!!

dont ave anything against aston!!but he should of retired him after the derby!!shame bout killahan phanter tho!!he was capable of anything!!

  • australian greyhound racing is better

  • shelbourne aston never fuffilled his potential..college causeway is the real deal not a flash in the pan

  • that was ridiculous...

  • haha, it looks fun!

  • college causway is the rel star now

  • Shelburne Aston was born a star

  • greyhounds looks like they are always sick...haha..they are so thin!!

  • They were bred that way so they could run quickly while coursing.

  • You should google the Azawakh, it's even worse

  • HOLY shit ! look at dog number 4. that's sick

  • no its just fit unlike other dogs witch are fat and overweight...were greyhounds train everyday and eat proprtly

  • i made 20k at that dere race

  • ya right fagget

  • besides what the hell are people doin on this page if racin is "so cruel and unentertaining"?

  • msg continued>>

without the help of government grants who deserve great credit but never get mention and that is disgraceful.

  • ya but its not only the greyhound breed of dog that do be killed..Unfortunatly it happens to every breed of animals. Greyhounds is just one industry that is always picked on..there is never a word mentioned about the people whos livelyhood depends on this..who dedicate 7days a week to these animals..and i dont understand what you are trying to say william but yes after a dog is finished racin she can be used for breedin purposes. there are groups f people settin up retirement homes for greyhound

  • @annacos2

Isnt a more likely that a retired dog gets put to sleep? After all, the racing industry breeds 50 000 puppies each year and out of those only 15 000 makes it into the racing business.

  • yh, dogs go "missing" after racing they also go to retirement homes or their owners take them home to be a pet dog, but what if they do finish after they are finished racing arnt the bred mainly for racing purposes?

  • not every1 kills the dogs after they get injured or retire from racin..some people breed their dogs for future pups!also there are many volunteers who work with greyhounds gettin them new homes where they enjoy the remaining life!!

nobody should agree with animal cruelty but guess what it happens with every breed of animals not just greyhound

  • @annacos2

    A great many do.

  • no no no not poor dogs, they love it. these dogs live to run.

  • @whotubeblows Yea! It's like horse racing,those horses live to race :)

  • @ginita105 But you cannot really compare the actual race, because unlike the dogs the horses are forced to run like crazy.

  • @whotubeblows

I dont know what in that statement i should get pissed about first.

  • what, horse racing are much better, "normal", even dough jockey are sitting on horses back and hitting him the hole race. Dogs racing are one of the best animal sport that exist.

  • I haven't watched Greyhound Racing for a couple of years.

  • To "motekmobile":

Trust me you LOVE to get a kick in your ass!!!

  • you need to spend some more time with dogs. This breed love this, dogs will not run if they hate it.

  • racing is ok but if greyhound is lose don't kill them please...they are dogs that are same with human

  • greyhound racing is not cruel to the animals..

why would government put money into the industry if it was cruel..and why would there be so many people involved?

the dogs are bred to run and thoroughly enjoy it. i own two race dogs and from the moment you drive in the gates of the track you can see the dogs eyes light up..

its people spreadin malicious lies lik that that are destroyin the inday.

  • Its not cruel, until they are no good at racing any more. Many are then abandoned or killed.

  • the thing that I understood looking at the debate and also the way I see it is that the dogs aren't beaten up or anything . I think what people are complaining about is the life that the dog leads ! he is in a cage when he isn't training or racing and when something happens to him ( broken leg or something .... the owner dosen't cure him with the intention of bringing him back but simply kill them !!! which I am against ! if only the dogs could play when not doing anything

  • thye're sooo fast!

  • Also, if there are no animal welfare concerns then why are the RSPCA among others so concerned.

  • the are concerned with every animals breeds

  • half of these animal rights wankers need to get their facts straight. The dogs love running. end of. Yes some die after racing and occasionaly need to be put down if really badly injured, but just like other dogs that are put down because someone cant afford a vets bill. Ive got a racing greyhound and he will be coming home with me when his career is over and many owners take their dogs home

  • @tomimpey100

    well said

  • @tomimpey100 UHHHHH NOOO dummy they HATE it they want to be loved and cared 4 in a nice house and a nice family shame on u!!!!!! WOW u r dumb!!!!!

  • @lafurheartout lol you obviously don't know what you're talking about. Have you ever met a greyhound? Have you ever met a dog for that matter? Just because you look like a dog doesn't mean you know about it. Get your facts straight

  • @lafurheartout you need to get your facts straight and spendd sometime with greyhounds. they do love running and are extremely excited to compete. the only problem is that some owners are neglectful and spoil the sport by not taka\ing proper care of the dogs. it's a great sport though and the dogs get a lot of pleasure out of competing.

  • @tomimpey100 thankyou, for understanding. the dogs do love their sport andn it's a great sport. the only problem is that some owners are neglectful after their dog is thru racing. if some owners weren't so pigheaded then their would be no problem with this sport at all!

  • @tomimpey100 Who told you dogs love running? STFU and don't pretend like you know what dogs love and don't love. Effin phoney.

  • @rintrah81 lol another thick idiot who doesn't know what he's talking about. I didn't realise you were a dog psychologist you complete mug.

  • @tomimpey100 Sad attempt. I'll tell you why. You were the cumbucket claiming to know what the dog's thought when you said they loved running.

  • @rintrah81 you're exactly the type i was aiming my first post at. When they go in the traps and they see the hare, they run by choice. they aren't whipped, nobody tells them they won't be getting any dinner if they don't chase it! they are the only dogs used in this sport (which is why they call it greyhound racing) as they have a love for running. I just thought i'd need to spell it out as you seem pretty simple. This page is for those who care about the sport and the dogs, not for thick cunts

  • @rintrah81 if you had met a greyhound or spent time with one, you'd know they enjoy running. You clearly haven't as you don;t have a clue what you're talking about so please kindly fuck off and write to the RSPCA complaining about your next door neighbour keeping a goldfish in a bowl or something. You've made yourself look an ignorant idiot on this page well enough. Go to kennels where they keep greyhounds and look at the conditions and how happy they are to race so you can educate yourself

  • @tomimpey100

The racing industry also sells thousands of dogs considered unfit for racing to laboratories, which experiment on animals. Thus, greyhound racing functions not only as a "sport" and gambling enterprise, but as a breeding facility for cruel vivisection practices.

You are apparently not along the most intelligent but atleast have the decency in you to think twice before posting anything so extremely stupid.

  • @CarlMinez This page is for people who love these animals and care about the sport and what happens to the dogs afterwards. Because of the work carried out by organisations such as British Greyhound Racing Trust and The Retired Greyhound Trust, That sort of thing does not take place in dog racing these days. Unless done so by the owner not to the knowledge of the racing authorities and therefore carried out by the individual who could do the same with any animal.

  • @CarlMinez If an individual does this, then shame on them. Overall, the sport is not how it once was maybe ten years ago and now there anre regulations in place about the welfare of the dogs. Problem is half the people quick to put this down know so little about the subject. So I think it's you rather than me who is amongst the unintelligent. Go and criticise a sport that actually is barbaric, but read up on it first and educate yourself further before embarrasing yourself again

  • @tomimpey100

Now your just being being hypocritical in order to defend yourself.

But please, educate me. Tell me about these new "regulations" that you speak of. - Because my sources speak of a different story. Only four states, California, Maine, Vermont, and Virginia, have banned greyhound racing. Maybe youve just never asked yourself why evidently so many are against this "sport"?

  • @CarlMinez I've messaged some links to your page. Educate yourself before you start embarassing yourself again. This race is in Ireland. Nothing to do with how dogs are treated in racing in the USA. If you could say you've seen first hand how dogs are treated in the UK and Ireland...I'd listen to your point even though I know it to be wrong. But as you are in Sweden...you don't know what you're talking about. Read the links and educate yourself

  • @tomimpey100

Is it really that hard to take being insulted? This far youve been spamming me with several guestbook comments, replies and tree private message. If you want to give the impression of being anything else than pathetic youve sure failed miserably.

As to your links. You must be joking right? I present sources founded on scientific documentation. With facts confirmed by major animal right organizations You give me links from various obviously partial Greyhound Racing companies?

  • @tomimpey100

No, I would recommend you to avoid this kind of discussions because it would be sad, really sad, if this is what you do best.

  • @CarlMinez don't worry I'll avoid it, you send me a load of american shit and tell me its valid because you had a chat once with a british breeder, where's the validity in that? you're an idiot, you haven't seen anything yourself first hand. Clearly as they say...you can't educate pork. You're another person sitting behind a computer screen angry at things he doesn't really know about....go and bother someone else

  • @tomimpey100

Bother someone else? I would do no such thing! Im perfectly fine bothering you. But okay, fine. Lets say that the animal right organizations are wrong and that you British are alone in the world to have a completely "clean" greyhound racing industry. Can you see that one business in one country can contribute to a similar business in another country without the same legislations? - How the problem would remain on a global level?

  • @tomimpey100

I was surprised to learn that you are in fact 26. Youd think that a grown man would handle such a controversial subject in a more mature manner. Did you even read those links i sent you? You are not even open to the possibility of your precious hound racing being anything else than a harmless sport despite the evidence suggesting otherwise.

And yet, despite your obvious display of ignorance, you have the guts to question my knowledge? You dont see the paradox in that?

  • @CarlMinez Right...firstly not 26...not that you have anyreason to know what age I am so please don't stalk me. Secondly, you don't know what you're talking about and you have seen nothing first hand. You're not even from England and you've never been to uk or irish kennels hence you are talking out of your arse. Please do me a favour and bother someone else, you haven't got better things to do with your time, but I have.

  • @tomimpey100 Lol you said wankers

  • @tomimpey100

I was about to say that you deserve a very painful death but that would be terribly mean. So ill just end with saying that you have no idea what you are talking about.

  • where's my 8 dog?

  • i have a grey hound!! she is awesome!!!

  • 45Mph

  • what speed do they get to anyway?

  • Of course dogs want to run! Especially if they've been picked and bred to do so--that's not the issue, therefore not an argument for pro racing. And no one has the right to take the life of another. If it weren't for animal rights' activists THOUSANDS more (perfectly healthy) greyhounds would be put to death every year.

  • I LOVE how some people look down on the animal rights activists, saying they give too much credit to the animals' thinking, feelings, and hooray we let them out five times a day, etc...and here we witness them keeping them in cages all their days in order for people (most of them not wealthy) to spend their money on them running around in a circle. How dumb is that? Why don't you all run around in a circle, and put your well-earned money on that instead?

  • Looks to me like the dogs WANTED to run.

RIP Trevor Morse, murdered by animal rights terrorists.

  • i'll have a pony on trap 4 please ;-)

  • Shelbourne Aston always kicks on so well like that. Ran against my dog in the English derby. All the idiots who say that the sport is cruel are idiots. The dogs love running and they enjoy being around other dogs in the kennels.

  • Yeah they love running ... a very good arguement!!!... Therefore the humans should kill them if they're not able to run anymore (old/illness/broken legs)

  • just like other dogs, if theyre really old or in pain they are put down out of their misery. Whether thats right or wrong is a different argument, but when they retire from racing there are many more establishments dedicated to re-homing them now. Majority of people involved in the sport don't want to see the dogs die and do care for their welfare.

  • trés beau

  • aston can run like a train

  • pity age is catchin up on him..

oh has the stuff ran out

  • i know, hes out of fuel oh right

  • no thay are not i used to work with them since i was born and the dogs all get one meal a day and is let out for turnouts 5 times a day and they r fun dogs so shut up u dont know a thing about them u stupid freak

  • looks like they have i great life to me you stupid anial rites people dont no any thing a bout the sport

  • You're ignorant.

  • and these dogs are physically built for speed...what's wrong with using that for a pastime? same thing for horse racing! they LIKE it!

  • I suggest you consider taking a short course in logic, you state that dog racing is worse than war , After that comment I'm afraid rational discourse is apparently not one of your interests.
