  • I like how she's really giving herself away

  • AWESOME

  • back when music sounded the same live.

  • Woodstock 69 fué y será único pero me gustaría que existiera un evento tan masivo y con ese nivel de música, después moriría en paz.

  • gosto de mais dessa musica ^^

  • Even though i don't like how they do Somebody to Love here, i would not dislike this. They were not worth as much as they got paid, but they were very good. Hell, Hendrix wasn't worth 50,000 dollars that they were paid. However, Hendrix's Gypsy Suns and Rainbows played extremely well. Other bands attending deserved a little more than they were paid.

  • She lost it later on in her career but at that particular place and time, what a voice. What a voice.

  • somedy can drop me to 1969 ?

  • Fellow band members slid in Grace Slick atleast once or twice during her Tenure with the band...It was a very slippery slope... : )

  • To Bubblewrap34...Its Early Morning at Woodstock...eg Morning Maniac Music man !!! :D

  • why did i have to be born in 1996.....

  • morning maniac music.. what the fuck was she talking about? lol

  • This must have the highest like-dislike ratio in all of YouTube

  • @adrscr

    Yeah, yeah. Delete.

  • wish i coulda been there

  • why dont y'all shut up and listen and enjoy the dang song.

  • Queria ter vivido essa época áurea da música mundial.

  • i'm stoned,i'm alone,i'm dreaming

  • 9 people had a bad trip

  • @FarsanLeo

or 9 people do not know what music really is? :)

  • @gracelandtm lol really...

  • @gracelandtm i think they are not even worth mentioning^^

  • @clickswitchh OK.. yeah... I got it, no need to call me whore. Mine was obviously a typo, supposed to be "the whole."

P.S. You just reiterated what the OP said, it's in the little box up there under the video...

  • @RagingAudioslave

No worries mate, I erased his/her idiotic comment. Will never understand why people are so aggresive when they're surfing the net. It really needs to be studied.

  • Crap... I wish I had born in 50's in United States... Now, though I love this music, I feel a little embarassed... I mean, I don't know anything about this time in history but I'm fascinated of this era, music and artists... Pity nobody's invented time machine yet...

  • @pawellosquelto i was born in 1951 and still like all the music of the 60s mostly saw groups of the 70's live though cause i couldn't drive till 1969

  • My dad went to woodstock... and boy, the stories he has... :)

  • if i could go back in time and bang one woman...she would be it

  • @snooWsnoo I'll second that

  • It's amazing that they're all high as kites but are still able to play so well... Amazing, the sixties was the best decade in music.

  • Happy Birthday Grace - 72 today but you'll never grow old in cyberspace !

How well I remember 1969. It seems like only the day before yesterday.

  • if u look at marty u ll get an idea of how people's condition must have been during the festival

  • is that Charles Manson at 1:09

  • @sotodnl

Marty Balin doesn't look a thing like Manson!

  • How the heck can some1 dislike the video when one is obviously looking for it?

  • One word.. Wired!

  • Anyone know what bass Jack was playing here?

  • @FriendlyShadow1

    Jack's playing a Guild Starfire.

  • @celebrant9 R.I.P. Guild

  • "When White Rabbit peaks, I want you to throw that radio into the tub with me".

  • NA BALDINHA SNIF.. COQUINHA E DEPOIS EU TOMO UM EXCTASIZINHO

TRIQUINIQUE LIQUE PIQUINIQUE LIQUE I AM VERY CRAZY

  • Peace and Love and Rock'nRoll

  • they clearly posers :)

  • Priceless.. . Heritage.. .. Valueless. .. History. .

  • Like something non-mainstream? Then you may like KOZMIC DREAMERS. I find their artistic vision and expression of ideas refreshing. If you listen to them you may like them and perhaps buy a song or poem from itunes. Thanks for reading this.

  • Thanks Grace! You are the best!!

  • Lol she does the exact same thing in Volunteers live, the whore "Morning people! You have heard the heavy groups, now..." etc lol

    Just something I noticed

  • @RagingAudioslave

Nope, this video is edited. Grace said "Good mornin' people!" when the band got on stage and then they played the first song of their set which was "The other side of this life".

"Somebody to love" was the second song they played.

  • @celebrant9

I'd love to seem the video of them doing Other Side. great song.

  • @RagingAudioslave In the movie volunteers was the only song by the airplane and it was a thing called editing.

  • Respond to this video... Out of all the bands that performed there the Airplane and Hendrix were the top bands and were paid the most but Hendrix would not perform for $25000 like the Airplane got so they had Hendrix do two sets so he could get his price which was $50000. Most the other bands got less than a thousand. Santana was paid $750.

  • grace slick and janis joplin ruled in 1969. grace with her opera voice and janis with her raw R&B ,southern comfort soaked power blast .

  • @TheBabyboomkidof53

They sure did and it's really nice that they were friendly with each other.

  • Why do people talk about people smoking weed at woodstock who the fuck would smoke weed at woodstock if u coulda got acid from just about anyone?lol

  • @xxKillervBananaxx

Because many of us did them both together. I did my first trip at Woodstock, but smoked dope on the ride down as well as during the festival.

  • Morning maniacs <3

  • I just love how chill everyone is, even grace she doenst seem like she is really trying to entertain, more that she is just really chill and calm and enjoying herself, im sure alot of it has to to do with the drugs, but thats what was cool was how cool and calm people were back than they were just into having a good time

  • The Like Bar looks like a long green joiiint. just like the one jefferson plane and the who were sucking out of at woodstock woohoooo

  • Whoever remembers Woodstock wasn't there.

  • I am 18 years old and this is just awesome! I really love 60's and early 70's music! I love the Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, Canned Heat, Steppenwolf and much much more! I am really happy that I can listen to this music while smoking a joint! Nowadays world sux! Everything is so stressy, lies are everywhere, everything is about money... Nature cries and civilization is killing itself! LET YOUR SOULS BE FREE! Peace from 18 years old hairy guy =)

  • their dynamics kinda remember me of Blind Melon or viceversa.

  • thimps up if you are high as f.ck right now

  • @TheMehomonito hahaha i ment thumbs

  • Does Allen Edmonds shoes really think I care about their company when I'm stoned trying to watch this video?

  • So disappointed this wasn't on the Blu-Ray. The best two performances. I bet Marty Balin had something to do with it. He hated Grace having the attention

  • 7 people have nobody to love :)

  • The mixture and tension in this band was incredible. The drummer liked hard core country and blues, and Jorma and Jack were hard-core traditional blues fanatics. Kantner, balin and Grace were more more pop oriented, as shown in their next band the jefferson starship. But this old stuff is the shitt. Notice how Jack and Jorma hang together, it's almost like they were a band within a band.

  • LOL they are stoned out of their mind cool :D

  • Grace slick I LOVE U!

  • If only those that performed today felt so passionately about their music and what they sang for and about.

  • love these guys.. but their whole performance was kinda sloppy. probably the drugs.

  • fabulous, white rabbit perfect !

  • god, they do all looked stoned!

  • It doesn't really get much better than this. . .

  • Love!

    Truly.

  • @damschu23

Um...no. They're just stoned, how do you expect them to react!

  • @celebrant9 It's 8am after night 2 of WOODSTOCK. that day's set had been going on since 1pm the previous day. You'd be lucky to have just stayed conscience long enough to even see it.

  • @jjinxonabeat

Ok, why are you saying this to me? I guess your comment was directed to damschu23....

  • @damschu23 I think she did a bit more than weed you fool.

  • @milojohn94

no need to call me a fool asshole

  • @damschu23 you think they smoked weed? LOL i'm sure that was the least of it...

  • @damschu23 She didn't dude. ;)

I've read her biography and she told that she didn't use to smoke pot, but she did take other drugs like LSD, xtc, and so on..

  • @NerothrowsawahisTV

ok then, sorry didn't know. i just thought that because a lot of people used to in that times.

  • @damschu23 More like tripping on acid.Grace Slick said people said Woodstock was green but for me it was orange.

  • @damschu23

I bet she took sth more than weed

  • J'aurai aimé etre la à cette periode....

  • she howls like a banchee this chick...Its fucking awesome..!

  • they're all clearly absolutely munted. yet can still hold it together and play the music. it's brilliant! god i love woodstock. better performances at monterey but woodstock is just so meaningful to me, even though it happened before my parents were even together let alone me being born.

  • she always kills me in the end of white rabbit...'Feed your head' can't explain what i feel

  • I love Grace Slick so much!

  • Fabulous stuff: thanks for posting.

    I like your memo

  • @willypdyer

    You're welcome, mate!

  • i actually love jefferson airplane i just found your description funny. white rabbit blew me away when i was 16 and high as fuck.

  • Cable Guy brought me here.. Yay for Jim Carey!

  • the Queen of the acid road singing, and i feel shivers on my whole soul, her voice send me into myself !!!

  • One of the best voice I've ever heard.....

  • I got chills.. only once.. but it lasted for 7 minutes

  • Grace was super-pretty, sexy and all sorts of things...

  • Jeez, Grace was so pretty, sexy, all sorts of things..

  • ladies & gentlemen this is the mighty "Grace"

  • @T3mach

    Shut the fuck up idiot.

  • 6 people have have somebody to love nor would like to befriend a white rabbit :)

  • Grace is perfect ! :)))

  • One of my fav band !!!! AMAZINGGG

  • Sigh!! What a hottie :P

  • The Airplane were meant to be on at night but a delay meant they were on at 6am and Grace said they were up all night doing drugs. She hates this performance.

  • With God as my witness i'm building my time machine and going back to this moment

  • @edd77 Funny ed (: me and my friend were just talking about that today . I told him if i ever get a large amount of money , thats what its going towards haha (: glad me and my friend arnt the only ones who think about that (:

  • @edd77 Make sure it don't break down on the way. My truck never would have made it, besides it was my fathers and he made me stay and work. I'd go today some how. have been to the sight three time since . In the last 10 years. 1st time parked on the street adjacent to the stage. Had some wine cheese and a baguette with my wife and listened to my woodstock box set for 3hrs.

  • @RAY2424

    Haha, amazing!

  • @T3mach пошёл отсюда, мудила, не позорь русских своим скудоумием.

  • @Romchikthelemon

Don't worry, nobody is going to judge a whole nation based on the comments of a fool!

  • she is stoned or what?/ haha priceless

  • Groso

  • I wish they still had concerts like this.. Where everyone is chasing rabbits :]

  • this video is like youtube crack, you have 1 dose & 5 mins later you want more & can never get enough of it.

  • thank god this is abck up, in the uk Sony went on a rampage & this was taken down for a while, i just got it back up 5 mins ago. Thanks to everyone that educated me about grace bieng alive & what she is doing these days.

Also @ Buybenco, i agree with your comment but a better doors tune for that kinda thing is The end, when the music is over, wild child but thats IMO

  • @itsJoanfuckingJett i want that too but im a male :D

  • She is so pritty *_____*

  • Farmaz

She's very much alive although she gave up public performing in 1989. Nowadays she follows a career as a painter.

  • grace can REALLY sing imo. everytime i hear these tunes it gives me a image in my mind of some 1960's vietnam battle scene, napalm & tracer fire. Its the same everytime i hear the doors - the end.

  • @Farmaz Aw perfect here lite my fire gives me an image of a pt boat down a namese river!!!!

  • The best song i've ever heard...and tha percussionist at 1:09 looks like CHARLES MANSON :(

  • @ziggymarleyfan yeah, but theres swastika on guitarist´s chest hmmmm.... :-?

  • a few if the people commenting on this video are saying teens listen to shit music and it is pretty much true i know i am a teenager and i have to go to school with these whiny brats everyday but there us that occasional teenager who knows good music when she/he hears it an i am one of them i hope dont worry there are always going to be kids like us you just gotta find them

  • ESPETACULAR!!!

  • TOOOO much improvisation on STL.!!! stoned out of their mind!> great times.

  • Grace Slick was truly a hottie way back when. Belted out a tune as good as anybody too.

I may not like todays music but I'm not going to condemn todays youth if they do. Those that appreciate the music of my day have my sympathies for not having been born of that era. When rock was new and fresh really was a magical time.

  • Morning maniac music. God I love her.

  • @oldgenerationmusic I think before you generalize all teenagers into the same category, you should take into consideration that not *ALL* teenagers listen to music made from this decade. But, then again you probably really don't care what I have to say.

  • today music is shit only 1960-1970-1980-1990 was good music

  • @larawora thats oh so true

  • @larawora its not shit only, its your decision if you want to listen to the shits mtv feeds you, or you can show some effort to find music of your taste, paaaaal

  • If there's one thing I think all the 70s bands learned from the Airplane it was how NOT to behave on stage. Backs turned AWAY from the audience, "phoning it in" like Marty Balin is doing here, look pi**ed off at other band members, being stoned and letting it SHOW. Body language is everything, folks. If you LOOK like you don't care about your fans, don't expect them to care about you. For Pete's sake, at least TRY! JA didn't, and that's why they disappeared

  • @notfragile33 they disappeared because their music was good but not as eternal as other band's one. Not for their behaviour on the stage.

  • @notfragile33 they weren't always that way on stage. they were supposed to go on stage night before. scheduling conflict caused the band to be stuck near by allnight with no sleep. lots drugs and they still played like 14 hours. like grace has said in interviews, 8 in morning is strange time to play rock n roll, much less with no sleep. besides are u into listening to music or watching some choreographed dance routine to crappy pop music. thats what to today's stuff is. JA is real talent!

  • @raysalsa1 I prefer both! I like to listen to music AND watch a band while they perform it, and it is a real turn off to me when a band turns their back to the audience and plays to themselves. If they don't even TRY to act like they care about their fans, much less members of their own band, then I don't care about them. This was what ticked off bands like Sabbath, Grand Funk, Aerosmith, Kiss, and other 70s bands about the San Fran scene--at least, LOOK like your diggin' your own stuff!

  • @f0cus711 my reply to you is simply this. blow it out your ass. and brilliance is something your little teenage ass will never comprehend. not in a hundred life times. thank ya.

  • @MrSchmuchface i completely agree, besides the teenage part, i am a teenager and i love this music, i do hate most of the modern music but not all teens are like that, unfortunately most of them are, which sucks cuz i go to school with em everyday and have to put up with those annoying brats humming and singing it accapella with the girlfriends all day

  • what happened to her cute haircut in the music video......

  • Love Peace Freedom !! As it's said those days !!!!

  • @MrSchmuchface

Just as much as any place with half a million people stinks.

  • @MrSchmuchface Never been to a Tea Party I guess.

  • @MrSchmuchface Beat half a million clean idiots running around...i.e. modern times.

  • @MrSchmuchface Yea but Id rather smell that and have literately the BEST experience of my life than have everything clean and fresh and listen to this new, shitty, repetitive bullshit teens call "music"

  • @oldgenerationmusic yes i know. see i wasnt trying to be insulting on my comment i was just saying that hippies would drop acid and go without bathing for days on in. maybe i should have worded it better.

  • @MrSchmuchface I don't like "dirty hippie", atleast we have clean souls.

  • This is awesome.

    Peace.

  • @zephranna01

Yeah man, I know! They are seriously great artists.

  • @zephranna01

Yeah, they're all tripping balls but still play awesomely. Great band.

  • marty looked fucked up

  • That was pretty damn impressive

  • this woman and Janice Joplin gives me chills :D

  • Grace kinda reminds me of roger daltrey in this performance. just the way she moves when she sings and the way she stands and the presence she has. its great

  • what a brilliant way to write a 'drug trip song' using a spanish march

  • \m/ long live Grace Slick

  • To all these people complain about todays music and being born in the wrong decade! stop whining, lets do something about it! im 15 and i know that yes, todays music is shit, but we can change that. We have to create music OURSELVES, we have to forge our OWN tunes, we have to create OUR culture, not just idly stand by while this fake stuff is jammed down our throats. Lets make jimi and jerry and janis and grace proud.

  • @spiff195 most of the new stuff is shit but not all of it. check out grace potter and the nocturnals.

  • @spiff195 I agree, but unless we are given the chance to be heard on a large scale and don't just stay underground nothing is going to change.

Lets make jimi and jerry and janis proud.

  • wow im really born in the wrong time,we need times like these again.

    come together people

  • she's hot high

  • This perfromance always blows my mind.

Love Jefferson Airplane very much but I gotta say...GRACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's amazing....

  • Happy Birthday Grace (2 days ago) amazing she sang these after a being up all night partying...True Legend...

  • Grace brought "Somebody to Love" and "White Rabbit" from her previous band. Allegedly, she was locked in a room on acid and was told not to come out until she wrote two songs; one of them being "White Rabbit." The legal onslaught which followed certainly affected Grace and folks like Tim Leary, but she aptly appropriated the song to being a critical reading of Lewis Carrol. Although the band did not open their set at Woodstock with "STL," they did take the stage on or around 6:30 in the AM.

  • @cwrohr03 more to that; these clips are from the film "Woodstock Diary," which contains most unreleased footage not included in the original 1970 film "Woodstock." along with this, Grace Slick just turned 71 on Saturday, 10/30. Hell of a girl, read her book titled "Somebody to Love?" for more...I can't imagine any other rocker who lived and played as hard as she did.

  • im gonna record alot of cool 70s stuff when i get my HDPVR. but at christmas. 70's and 60's forever. i hate this generations music. im the only one in my school who likes this. its sad.
