JMP1 can be very heavy as well, especially OD2 chanel. You can get many dieferent sounds when you tweak EQ knobs, but whatever you do you can´t get Mesa like haevy distortion for new metal. It´s Marshall, it can be heavy but it´s more like 70´s , 80´s sound.
So... what have you switched too? Ironically I don't like Marshall amps, but I always seem to like the jmp-1 sounds. And this is the clean/dirty blues sound that has been in my head... I have been going through pedals etc. like you would not believe. What power amp was pushing the jmp-1 and speaker cab. thanks. Nice playing.
What knobs? Of TS-10? That TS-10 is such a good stomp box. Mine was modified with original chip and was a little more hot than TS-808. The knobs were ( I think) 12 o´clock at first, later I added some gain. I used JMP´s clean chanell straight in Berhringer MS20 active speakers. Guitar was EL MAYA ( Made in Japan in early 80-is). It´s nice guitar, made of ash and maple w. Brasilian Rosewood equiped with PAF and Super Distortion Dimarzios.
what channel is the jmp1 on? How gained up is the JMP1 internally?

Hi Im thinking of getting an JMP-1 , I'm asking this question to all of you JMP-1 owners
its regarding the effects loop:
if I set the effect level to maximum, does it cut out the direct signal completely?
or do you get 100% direct signal and also 100% effect?
I would want to use the effects loop for a noise gate and would not want any direct signal to get through

I don´t like heavy distortion. I´m more into smooth sound. That´s why I used only clean chanel on JMP - to have tube like warmth.
Also, I sold JMP couple of months ago.

No PA or cabs were used. I plugged guitar into TS-10 then to JMP and from JMPs speaker simulator output straight into some active 20w speakers.

make a heavey heavey preset on the jmp-1 and use the tube screamer as a boost for even more melt down gain
