I had the honer to test drive this car .... good engine but :

front hood grill doesn't look good and sporty

rims are awful and must be bigger because the car is simply bigger

no hidrolic system like its competitors

drivers seat is not comfortable for a big guy and not relaxing for a long trip, and no colors for the interior .... AL SRTs are black from inside???

and the worst ... it will cost $ 64k and at the end you are buying a Jeep !!!

Most stupid car in the world. The worst thing about it is that it's lost all of its offroad capabilities, yet can't go around a corner because it handles like shit. The only thing it can do is go fast in a straight line.

A Merc G55 AMG is fast in a straight line, but also incredibly capable offroad. A BMW X5M is fast in a straight line, but also incredibly capable around corners, especially for a big & heavy SUV. But this ...? Ridiculous Jeep, simply ridiculous.

I loled at old Merc G55 vs 2012 Jeep str8 "drag test". The diffrence is Mercedes G is hand build and can go literally everywhere and that lowered Jeep with spoilers propably cloud not go over kurb stone.

It costs $125,000 & maintenance & gas mileage is insane.Get the Jeep Overland for $48000,its also has military background,can go anywhere,is built on mercedes chassis & advanced engine tech saves fuel,supercharge it =$60,000,then smile & wave to the G55's you blow past on the road or offroad,with the money u save get a mustang $32,000 & an audi A4 $35000.

It is advertised as a performance bargain. You think the people who own ZR1's and dump $15k into them just for HRE wheels can't afford a Ferrari? You realise cars that break 6 figures are rarely financed right? The SRT8 is advertised with the luxury, technology/amenities, and offroad capabilities the same as these vehicles are.

I know how much more fun manual can be, but you want them on light cars with more manageable horsepower so you don't end up with leg cramps every time you have to run to the store for milk

@SirWilliamLeys That's why they are hydraulic clutches. They are not old school clutches that required a lot of force to use. I have driven full size SUVs filled inside, with things on the roof rack as well as a trailer in the mountains of South America and did it just fine. Horsepower and Torque have nothing to do with the clutch being harder/easier to use.
