This song got me through a lot of rough times when I was a teenager. I'm 27 years old now and have a seven year old daughter and watching this brought tears of joy to my eyes. To me, the entire point of having a child is to leave something behind in the world that's hopefully a little stronger, brighter, wiser, and better than you were. At least Shannon was able to leave such a beautiful piece of himself (aside from his music) in the world before he passed. I wish you all the best Nico!

He doesn't have S's range, but he can replicate the rasp to a tee.

i saw them with the new singer and i cried at the beginning of the concert how he said that he wasnt there to replace shannon hoon. lets be honest no one can. but he was there to continue the band, so all the members can do what they love without giving up on the band.

I think it's great Blind Melon got back together. Possibly my favorite band..and I think he does a good job as a lead, and I think it's the highest compliment to Shannon to continue with his music, and his memory. Shannon obviously is obviously STILL a huge part of blind melon. Nobodys trying to replace him. You gotta change.
And special guest Nico? Its wonderful to hear her sing her fathers songs.

For me its no disrespect at all, like is well said, all songs were written as ONE, shannon was probably the main ingredient in the band, but for that u guys shouldnt say that theyre not allowed to use the same name. This is a tribute to shannon, for my friends is a great cd, but if u guys just dont like it without shannon, just quit listenin the cd n keep livin from the memory. I support them, n for me, chris, brad, n roger r pure talent. Great musicians, great band, thanks for changin my life.

I agree with everything you said about the other bandmates. I'm not trying to that Shannon was the only talent in the band. It took all of them to create that sound. whether or not they still have that sound is debateable simply for the fact that Shannon's voice and spirit were an anomoly of the 90's and irreplaceable. Of course they are "allowed" to keep the name Blind Melon with Travis and good for him to be living his dream. I personally don't like the fact that they kept it. sorry to offend.

Shannon Most definitly would have wanted them to continue on with the band. And even if he didnt it wasnt his band anyways. Its a collaboration of every member that made this band famous.

And yes their ORIGINAL music has had a huge effect on my life bla bla. Sorry if I feel like their is no need to keep the name other than for an automatic fanbase. Their new music sucks...I gave it a good shot. it isn't the same and neither should the name be. in my OPINION
