However simple, spraying a WD-40 with a tube deep into the body frees up the ratcheting arm springs that often get gummed up (Other than a boken spring nothing else can go wrong with these). I wish I tried it before I took whole thing apart. It can be difficult to get the springs re-loaded when putting it back together. Spray deep into the round hole that you would thread a new cable into. Blogs online said that you cannot service these and you just have to replace them...not true
