If I recall, I didn't have high end equipment (this was practically the beginning of the story still). Today, however, I've maxed out pretty much everything - 999 HP, 999 MP, 50 speed and 99 PA. @ulillillia I agree there but you cant deny, for Squire Enix to come up with this kind of game is Amazing considering all the negative reviews for the newer ones.....Shows that graphics dont mean everything in the gaming industry.....
Game play is priority 1. What's the point of playing a game if it's full of bugs, has a bad design, awkward controls, too limiting to the player, or just isn't fun at all? Good, reasonable graphics do help, though, along with good sound. I weigh game play, graphics, and audio in a 5:3:2 ratio.

How about, upon starting a battle, clearing out 5 enemies before any enemy gets a turn, and always doing 999 damage to each enemy? My Ramza, on the day I posted this, has just that. He has 999 HP, 999 MP, 50 speed, 99 physical attack, and 11 magic attack. See my "max stats guide" videos and guide on GameFAQs for details on how to do that... without a Gameshark.
@MnE4life incase you read this here is an easier build thats just funny. It's so short I can post it here. Master all jobs and reach level 99 with 99 EXP before making much story progress (use the Mandalia Plains). Have everyone with "math skill", and choose either level or EXP and something besides 3 then use flare to destroy lots of enemies at once. You could go through the rest of the game in the matter of just 3 hours this way.... It's challenging to get started at first, but it's worth the effort. @ulillillia There is nothing challenging about grinding battles at one location. Even when using Ramza as your only non-guest character and not doing ANY random fights, after the first battle against thieves in the flashback, the rest of the game is easy when you do massive level-ups.

But hey, if that makes it enjoyable for him somehow, then I guess that is fine. Some people like easy-mode, some like it tougher, we are all different.

Still, you should really finish the game and re-try it with Ramza as the only non-guest character. It still involves some loooong battles, but is more challenging.
I completely agree with Magic City Gariland being above the learning curve. I gave up on it 12 or so years ago when I first played FFT (via renting it). Even on my later play 10 or so years afterwards, I still found that battle very difficult and almost lost it, but I barely made it. Things got a bit easier beyond that. I'd have never realized that FFT would be so addicting, racking up hundreds upon hundreds of hours over only a year. Then along came stat-maxing....
@ulillillia I almost feel like re-playing just to make a list of the toughest and easiest fights.
I do remember a fight where I had a lancer and he jumped right up to the top of a tower on his first turn and killed the "boss" in one-shot. The level is supposed to make you spiral around to slowly get up to his level, but when I saw his move-range I was pleasantly surprised. One of the funniest things ever in that game...
The time mage's "teleport" movement ability has the same effects as both "ignore height" and "fly" combined and it's also the only way to move as far as 14 panels away (this has a 10% chance of occurring and only possible with a character class with a move of 4 equipped with an accessory that raises it to 5. Beyond the 5, the chance of success goes down by 10 percentage points each extra panel further (meaning that 9 panels has a 60% chance of working).
Do you mean it's 17 panels from the starting position for the closest character (e.g. 10 horizontal left and 7 up), or does height change by 17 units (e.g. going from 3 to 20)? If 7 panels away and 17 up, Zalmo is in relatively easy reach with teleport. Try teleporting from in the river in Zirekile Falls (a low point) to the adjacent cliff the number of panels the character's "move" is. A move of 3 with change of height of 10 with someone's move and jump at 3 is entirely doable.
@ulillillia 17 vertically. I'm not sure why you started to talk about teleport before, I was mentioning a great fight that has a very funny possibility of winning on your first turn.
Teleport ignores height which is why I mentioned it. I just use math skill and flare - first action and the battle's over. I zipped through chapter 3 in barely an hour this way and that was well before I figured out stat maxing.
Teleport just has a fade out and fade in and I use it a lot, especially for phase 1 in my stat maxing. "Ignore height" has the character able to jump 30+ in height with actual animation. Either way, both methods should work the same.
I think it's better to keep Ramza as a squire, he can equip all the heavy equipment in the game, (except axes) and the best stat growth. Also, as a side note, if you equip Martial Arts as a support skill, he'll do more damage with dash, counter tackle and throw stone. The only downside is the damage is based on a random modifier like axes and flails. Since a % of JP is shared with your party, you can stay a squire while learning what you want from other jobs, and it works with charm and invite.
I have the formulas for both the amount of JP you get ("SourceLevel/4+SourceJobLevel*2+8") and how much JP other characters will get (less certain if not 5 characters are involved; "JP/4" observed, "JP/(TotalCharacters-1)").
Monks are very good, but once you grab a hold of the calculator (hint: use magic jobs a lot), and max out your level and EXP, enemies are essentially defenseless which makes it the best, but only when used as a secondary skill (because that character is then very slow). In my case, I made Ramza a squire, and had thief skills applied (so I can quickly gain lots of gil). Squire is for raising speed (yell), which increases the amount of gil stolen and its success rate.
and oh! am i gonna be able to equip a sword for a ninja?
coz i looked at the items in towns and all i can find that are compatibles are daggers..well i haven't open all of the towns yet..im at the part where we're gonna rescue teta..
I really can't make any recommendations. I haven't played this game in several months so I don't recall much about what shops have. I had all jobs mastered and level 99 before doing the Sweegy Woods story-based battle and equipment here was severely limited.
i mainly go for ramza Squire (for accumulate and shout and ultima later on) Knight (equipped swords and Armour) Thief (thief s in Armour :) ) Geo (needed for ninja) Ninja (so i got a ninja with 2 rune blades right....) Knight (duel wielding knight swords - 1 hit kills right) then i set it up like this Art of war Mettle counter duel wield
i see that u were not lazy to have lvl 99 at this point already haha.i have finished this game for 5 times i think but i was too lazy to get max levels
I spotted a weakness in the game's design that allowed me to get level 99 and master every job before first visiting the Sweegy Woods for the story. That's about as early as you can do it!
Use Mandalia Plains for constant random battles. When it becomes available, put enemies to sleep then use a thief to constantly steal gil, perhaps a monk to use chakra to restore MP from the casters. After all, I didn't add 17 status effects for nothing. That's nearly every single negative status effect possible (float is an oddball)!
If you just use the people at the begging of the game u start out with you don't need to worry about the 20 kills and then count down running out thing to get the onion knight. Trust me I got both death knight and the onion knight. But I deleate file cause got bored alot. But now I miss the cut scences and the story-line. I'm sorry but I just had to get that out.
what do you mean by 20 enemies? hes the one who almost killed all men he killed already maybe 121 enmies? i always train them so boss fights are easy i just dont undersyand what crystalize?whats about enmies?
you must kill 20 enemies and wait for them to become a crystal or a box
there's no way ulillillia could get a dark knight because he plays the PS version and dark knight class is only available in the PSP version of the game
someone dies, a countdown will start over their heads, i'm sure you have seen it at least once, right? anyway, the countdown begins at 3 and will drop down until it reaches 0 after a while it has gotten to zero, the dead unit will crystalize/boxilize
... and I know the mechanics of it. The number does start at 3, but if you pay attention, you may occasionally notice it starts on 2 instead. This is because, when CT reaches 100, the count goes down 1 and CT resets. When it reaches 100 when it's a zero, the object then becomes a treasure box (which contains an item) or a crystal (which fully restores all HP and MP). They remain forever until someone lands on the square containing it or the battle ends beforehand.
I thought that the count down worked on turns - well i thought it when down each turn that char had if he was alive. also you can later get skills later on from the crystals and in a secret place crystals light it up because you fight in total dark.
Brave - use "cheer up" or, in my case, "praise". Praise is available on the mediator. It raises brave in the battle by 4 units (5 for cheer up), but permanently by 1 unit. I didn't have "cheer up" by the time I got level 99 as I wasn't in chapter 2 yet (I still didn't do the "Sweegy Woods" story battle. Preach adds 4 (1) to faith. I'd recommend getting brave to 97 and faith to 83. With faith at 85 or higher, you'll get a warning and a chance of characters leaving your party (for good!).
Of 8 memory cards, 6 bought on Ebay, 6 (those from Ebay) are defective and don't last for much more than 3 days, but, by copying the file over to another memory card, interestingly enough, I was able to continue. I'd run backup on my Gamecube, but there's no way to copy the files over to another memory card so I can't back up my game saves at all.
I can tell you haven't watched the other videos. I reached level 99 (plus mastered all jobs) before I did the battle in Sweegy Woods for the storyline. In other words, I went through pretty much the whole game on level 99 (for 5 characters anyway).
You can get the best shop items in Chapter one. but you have to reach like lvl 40
After you face miluda for the first time and before the first Wiegraf fight you just get random battles in mandalia plains , and eventually human enemies will appear . the items they will have depending on your level. you won't see crystal gear till like lvl 38
Level 40? I was level 99 when I first visited the Sweegy Woods if that counts.... I've known about using steal on the human enemies. I just make use of the faith and sleep spells (first through math skill), then just go around "thiefing" everything as I often say. Using Ramza's yell to raise the thief's speed increases the odds and both the EXP and gil that can be taken per turn. I've studied the game's mechanics quite well and know many of the formulas used from it.
Yes, exactly. In addition, I had all jobs mastered as far as possible. Summoner wasn't and still isn't. Even though the list shows everything as "learned" it still doesn't show up as "master" in the list. Ramza's squire abilities were mastered at the time and when I got to chapter 2, I wasn't mastered, but with 9999 JP, I otherwise instantly mastered it again. Chapter 4 was odd, another bug in the game. I just endlessly did random battles in Mandalia Plains until fully maxed.
What do you suppose JP is for? If you learn every ability that a job has, you've mastered it and you'll see "*master*" replacing it and you can't access the list again due to nothing else available for learning. Someone who is a chemist with all others not a chemist will gain 1/4 the JP toward the chemist job. Gain 36 JP, for example, and everyone else who is not a chemist will get 9 JP. If there are two chemists instead, it's 18 JP for the non-chemists.
Uh, no. Let's say you have 5 characters, A, B, C, D, and E. A is a squire, B is a monk, C is a chemist, D is an archer, and E is a time mage. It's C's turn to act, who's level 34 and his job as a chemist is level 5. C moves over to D and hands over a hi-potion to restore D's HP. Upon making this action, C gets "(34/4)+(2*5)+8" JP, or 26. In addition to C getting 26 JP from this action, A, B, D, and E also get 6 JP toward the chemist job, even though they aren't chemists.
Pretty much. Though it may be 19 JP instead, depending on how the rounding goes. The EXP obtained is based on "TargetLevel-SourceLevel+10" with a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 99 (per action). If you're fast, you could do it in 40 hours from the start. Mastering all jobs could take 50 hours. If level didn't max at 99 (or even 999), I'd have some characters over level 1400 by now.... You'll only need Mandalia Plains (and, for a slight improvement to equipment, Igros castle at the latest).
When you work for getting to level 99 right away, sleep (oracle), "don't move" (time mage - use first), and "gil taking" (thief - use only on sleeping enemies, so they can't counter) are 3 of the most useful abilities. This way, level 99 is easily reached, even with weak armor where enemies, by level 60, can one-hit even mid-range characters for HP. I tend to group up everyone leaving healers out of reach. You won't find magic-users until quite a ways later. Need more tips? PM me.
Once you get math skill, use it. Increase the move radius as much as possible. Mandalia Plains has such short height spans that jumping is not necessary so you could leave it as 3 without problems. I'd suggest 3 males and 2 females. Males can move the most (thanks to bard's move+3), but females are best with casting spells. When you get the Mediator, raise everyone's brave to 97 and faith to 83 (for the permanent values).
Solo Ramza!? Man, I have a hard enough time even with 5 characters and wished I could use more. This game is hard enough without any extras. When I first played, the game's second story-based battle was one I couldn't beat as it was so tough. Even on the second run (this one), I almost didn't make it and that's with 5 characters! I don't see how it's possible with just 1! What do you mean by "glitched" anyway?
See my "easiest leveling" video(s) for details. I reached level 99 before I first visited the Sweegy Woods as I spotted this weak point in the game. For an extreme case, watch the "10 levels in 10 minutes" video where, in under a minute, I get 2 or 3 levels at once! I just studied the game mechanics, spotted weak points, and exploited them, as I do in pretty much every game.
its better if you have a calculater you want to lv. and then steal exp him/her to stop them from leveling up so the crappy stats wont carry over to other jobs.
You use what is called a "TV tuner". Some emulators supposedly can (but screen capture software like Virtual Dub could cancel this out), but this is completely unfamiliar territory to me. A TV tuner basically converts a TV signal into the format a computer can use and understand. PCI TV tuners (which are internal) cost around $10 to $100 ($40 mid-range), USB (external and works with laptops) is pricier at around $30 to $150 ($70 is mid-range).
I find the monk a lot stronger, especially when the brave is at the highest permanent value of 97 and has accumulated before reaching the enemies (but then again, I usually have the enemies put to sleep before they could do anything).
It's easy, once you put the enemies out of commission (cast "don't move" then "sleep" (use "preach" to raise faith (83 tops) to boost odds)). Then constantly steal gil (Ramza's yell helps with this) and add status effects (especially sleep) to enemies. Each successful action gives "TargetLevel-SourceLevel+10" EXP and "SourceJobLevel*2+SourceLevel/4+8" JP for each successful action. The enemies can start one-hitting characters by level 60. See my other videos of FFT for extra tips.
by what lvl should i have math to sleep dont act and dont move? i mean i'v mastered every job with all my guys except summoner, knight aracher and monk..
The sooner the better, but don't have Ramza have it until he is the last one to have it. Instead, have Ramza constantly yell at the calculator to raise the speed and add the "steal" job so he (and the others) can easily master JP. The others get 1/4 the JP (12 per action for 48 JP given). Also, use it toward things you have control over such as height, and, if already at level 99 (with 99 EXP), level (and EXP) as well.
What isn't? The weapons and armor I was getting at this point? This was during chapter 2 that I was getting this thanks to being on level 99 (with all jobs mastered) before first visiting the Sweegy Woods in chapter 1.... It was a weakness I found in the game and I exploited it.
Step 1: solve the software issue - this'll drastically boost the odds of it happening. Step 2: find a way to increase long-range sensitivity (otherwise, even from 2 feet away, the voice is very hard to hear and the noisy fan of my computer drowns it out).
I liked killing off all enemies except for a panther then having my whole team hop in the water.
Problem panther? xP

The level is supposed to make you spiral around to slowly get up to his level, but when I saw his move-range I was pleasantly surprised. One of the funniest things ever in that game...
SweetZombiJesus 1 year ago
The time mage's "teleport" movement ability has the same effects as both "ignore height" and "fly" combined and it's also the only way to move as far as 14 panels away (this has a 10% chance of occurring and only possible with a character class with a move of 4 equipped with an accessory that raises it to 5. Beyond the 5, the chance of success goes down by 10 percentage points each extra panel further (meaning that 9 panels has a 60% chance of working).
ulillillia 1 year ago
@ulillillia Yeah but in the battle vs Zalmo, you go up 17 panels in elevation for the kill on your first turn :P
Not as good as teleport over-all, but a lot of fun in specific fights.
Example: /watch?v=Hmp5guCXmJk
SweetZombiJesus 1 year ago
Do you mean it's 17 panels from the starting position for the closest character (e.g. 10 horizontal left and 7 up), or does height change by 17 units (e.g. going from 3 to 20)? If 7 panels away and 17 up, Zalmo is in relatively easy reach with teleport. Try teleporting from in the river in Zirekile Falls (a low point) to the adjacent cliff the number of panels the character's "move" is. A move of 3 with change of height of 10 with someone's move and jump at 3 is entirely doable.
ulillillia 1 year ago
@ulillillia 17 vertically. I'm not sure why you started to talk about teleport before, I was mentioning a great fight that has a very funny possibility of winning on your first turn.
SweetZombiJesus 1 year ago
Teleport ignores height which is why I mentioned it. I just use math skill and flare - first action and the battle's over. I zipped through chapter 3 in barely an hour this way and that was well before I figured out stat maxing.
ulillillia 1 year ago
@ulillillia Yeah but teleport doesn't have the animation of your character jumping up 17 levels ;)
SweetZombiJesus 1 year ago
Teleport just has a fade out and fade in and I use it a lot, especially for phase 1 in my stat maxing. "Ignore height" has the character able to jump 30+ in height with actual animation. Either way, both methods should work the same.
ulillillia 1 year ago
I think it's better to keep Ramza as a squire, he can equip all the heavy equipment in the game, (except axes) and the best stat growth. Also, as a side note, if you equip Martial Arts as a support skill, he'll do more damage with dash, counter tackle and throw stone. The only downside is the damage is based on a random modifier like axes and flails. Since a % of JP is shared with your party, you can stay a squire while learning what you want from other jobs, and it works with charm and invite.
solblackguy 2 years ago
I have the formulas for both the amount of JP you get ("SourceLevel/4+SourceJobLevel*2+8") and how much JP other characters will get (less certain if not 5 characters are involved; "JP/4" observed, "JP/(TotalCharacters-1)").
ulillillia 2 years ago
You do know there is actually a battle manic guide with all the the formulas you don't and all the ones you do not need.

hey my character is a monk now.. hmm level 10 i think? im at finding wiegraf..
my question is.. what's the best job for ramza?
i like monk cauze it's super strong when punching..but i wanna be like your squire but my squire has only 10 skills or less? i dont know.. any advice?
ajie911 2 years ago
Monks are very good, but once you grab a hold of the calculator (hint: use magic jobs a lot), and max out your level and EXP, enemies are essentially defenseless which makes it the best, but only when used as a secondary skill (because that character is then very slow). In my case, I made Ramza a squire, and had thief skills applied (so I can quickly gain lots of gil). Squire is for raising speed (yell), which increases the amount of gil stolen and its success rate.
ulillillia 2 years ago
how about ramza as ninja? is that okay?
and oh! am i gonna be able to equip a sword for a ninja?
coz i looked at the items in towns and all i can find that are compatibles are daggers..well i haven't open all of the towns yet..im at the part where we're gonna rescue teta..
what would you recommend at that part?
here are my current characters..
summoner,wizard,thief,chemist,monk(ramza)

im working to make ramza as a ninja..
ajie911 2 years ago
I really can't make any recommendations. I haven't played this game in several months so I don't recall much about what shops have. I had all jobs mastered and level 99 before doing the Sweegy Woods story-based battle and equipment here was severely limited.

i see that u were not lazy to have lvl 99 at this point already haha.i have finished this game for 5 times i think but i was too lazy to get max levels
theexplodedrage 3 years ago
I spotted a weakness in the game's design that allowed me to get level 99 and master every job before first visiting the Sweegy Woods for the story. That's about as early as you can do it!
ulillillia 3 years ago
whats the secret ? i could actually try it someday cuz i still have PS and the cd
theexplodedrage 3 years ago
Use Mandalia Plains for constant random battles. When it becomes available, put enemies to sleep then use a thief to constantly steal gil, perhaps a monk to use chakra to restore MP from the casters. After all, I didn't add 17 status effects for nothing. That's nearly every single negative status effect possible (float is an oddball)!

My bad when I said the 20 kills thing i ment for the death knight i got confused since it's been a long time since i played.

If you just use the people at the begging of the game u start out with you don't need to worry about the 20 kills and then count down running out thing to get the onion knight. Trust me I got both death knight and the onion knight. But I deleate file cause got bored alot. But now I miss the cut scences and the story-line. I'm sorry but I just had to get that out.

and a onino knight please help me someone!!!!!
xxxisaac454xxx 3 years ago
The "dark knight" and "onion knight" are only for select special characters. I don't recall who though though it's not Ramza or the extras.
ulillillia 3 years ago
the character must also have killed at least 20 enemies, but not just get them to 0 hp, they must turn into crystal/box
and the most important thing, it _only_ exists in the PSP port of this game and it will never work on the PS version
pedro1906 3 years ago
what do you mean by 20 enemies? hes the one who almost killed all men he killed already maybe 121 enmies? i always train them so boss fights are easy i just dont undersyand what crystalize?whats about enmies?
xxxisaac454xxx 3 years ago
you must kill 20 enemies and wait for them to become a crystal or a box
there's no way ulillillia could get a dark knight because he plays the PS version and dark knight class is only available in the PSP version of the game
someone dies, a countdown will start over their heads, i'm sure you have seen it at least once, right? anyway, the countdown begins at 3 and will drop down until it reaches 0 after a while it has gotten to zero, the dead unit will crystalize/boxilize
pedro1906 3 years ago
... and I know the mechanics of it. They remain forever until someone lands on the square containing it or the battle ends beforehand.
ulillillia 3 years ago
I thought that the count down worked on turns - well i thought it when down each turn that char had if he was alive. also you can later get skills later on from the crystals and in a secret place crystals light it up because you fight in total dark.

how can u reach brave and faith so high with all ur characters? thx
davidrl84 3 years ago
Brave - use "cheer up" or, in my case, "praise". Praise is available on the mediator. It raises brave in the battle by 4 units (5 for cheer up), but permanently by 1 unit. I didn't have "cheer up" by the time I got level 99 as I wasn't in chapter 2 yet (I still didn't do the "Sweegy Woods" story battle. Preach adds 4 (1) to faith. I'd recommend getting brave to 97 and faith to 83. With faith at 85 or higher, you'll get a warning and a chance of characters leaving your party (for good!).

oh man i remember being level 99, well i was level 98 and i killed all the last bosses with one hit with 1 character xD
and then... the memory card got corrupted :|
lol that sucked
Justinmillette 3 years ago
Of 8 memory cards, 6 bought on Ebay, 6 (those from Ebay) are defective and don't last for much more than 3 days, but, by copying the file over to another memory card, interestingly enough, I was able to continue. I'd run backup on my Gamecube, but there's no way to copy the files over to another memory card so I can't back up my game saves at all.

I can tell you haven't watched the other videos. I reached level 99 (plus mastered all jobs) before I did the battle in Sweegy Woods for the storyline. In other words, I went through pretty much the whole game on level 99 (for 5 characters anyway).

albelthewickdjuggalo 3 years ago
Forgot to add , of course to get the items off the enemies you will need steal or invite from Mediator.
I find Invite way easier , since you invite them then strip them naked.
Morrigan2000 3 years ago
You can get the best shop items in Chapter one. but you have to reach like lvl 40
After you face miluda for the first time and before the first Wiegraf fight you just get random battles in mandalia plains , and eventually human enemies will appear . the items they will have depending on your level. you won't see crystal gear till like lvl 38
Morrigan2000 3 years ago
I've studied the game's mechanics quite well and know many of the formulas used from it.
ulillillia 3 years ago
Level 99 when you first visited Sweegy Woods? O_O
Dominicker 3 years ago
Yes, exactly. In addition, I had all jobs mastered as far as possible. Summoner wasn't and still isn't. Even though the list shows everything as "learned" it still doesn't show up as "master" in the list. Ramza's squire abilities were mastered at the time and when I got to chapter 2, I wasn't mastered, but with 9999 JP, I otherwise instantly mastered it again. Chapter 4 was odd, another bug in the game. I just endlessly did random battles in Mandalia Plains until fully maxed.
ulillillia 3 years ago
How did you have everything mastered if you don't mind my asking?
I'm pretty sure you've already answered it, but I'm lazy. D:
Dominicker 3 years ago
What do you suppose JP is for? If you learn every ability that a job has, you've mastered it and you'll see "*master*" replacing it and you can't access the list again due to nothing else available for learning. Someone who is a chemist with all others not a chemist will gain 1/4 the JP toward the chemist job. Gain 36 JP, for example, and everyone else who is not a chemist will get 9 JP. If there are two chemists instead, it's 18 JP for the non-chemists.
ulillillia 3 years ago
So you have everyone except one person being one job and the other person the job you want to master?
Sorry if I'm not getting it...
Dominicker 3 years ago
In addition to C getting 26 JP from this action, A, B, D, and E also get 6 JP toward the chemist job, even though they aren't chemists.
ulillillia 3 years ago
Oh wow, so if you do that and you have say, 3 Chemists, then the others will get 18 JP towards Chemist job?
About how long did it take you to get to level 99? Cuz it would seem it would take a really long time..
Dominicker 3 years ago
Pretty much. Though it may be 19 JP instead, depending on how the rounding goes. The EXP obtained is based on "TargetLevel-SourceLevel+10" with a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 99 (per action). If you're fast, you could do it in 40 hours from the start. Mastering all jobs could take 50 hours. If level didn't max at 99 (or even 999), I'd have some characters over level 1400 by now.... You'll only need Mandalia Plains (and, for a slight improvement to equipment, Igros castle at the latest).
ulillillia 3 years ago
Oh alright, I'm gonna have to try that once I re-buy the game.
Dominicker 3 years ago
When you work for getting to level 99 right away, sleep (oracle), "don't move" (time mage - use first), and "gil taking" (thief - use only on sleeping enemies, so they can't counter) are 3 of the most useful abilities. This way, level 99 is easily reached, even with weak armor where enemies, by level 60, can one-hit even mid-range characters for HP. I tend to group up everyone leaving healers out of reach. You won't find magic-users until quite a ways later. Need more tips? PM me.
ulillillia 3 years ago
Thanks dude, I'll be sure to do that. :]
Dominicker 3 years ago
Once you get math skill, use it. Increase the move radius as much as possible. Mandalia Plains has such short height spans that jumping is not necessary so you could leave it as 3 without problems. I'd suggest 3 males and 2 females. Males can move the most (thanks to bard's move+3), but females are best with casting spells. When you get the Mediator, raise everyone's brave to 97 and faith to 83 (for the permanent values).
ulillillia 3 years ago
Thanks man. :] I'll be sure to do that.
When I re-buy this game, I'm planning on making 4 different accounts, 1 regular, 1 glitched, 1 solo Ramza, and one like this. :]
Dominicker 3 years ago
Solo Ramza!? Man, I have a hard enough time even with 5 characters and wished I could use more. This game is hard enough without any extras. When I first played, the game's second story-based battle was one I couldn't beat as it was so tough. Even on the second run (this one), I almost didn't make it and that's with 5 characters! I don't see how it's possible with just 1! What do you mean by "glitched" anyway?
ulillillia 3 years ago
Surprisingly, only like 1 battle is really hard, the rest are surprisingly easy. I found a guide on it and it surprises me how easy it is. O_O
By "glitched" I mean there's a trick you can do to learn all moves of any class. But it only works on certain classes. /:

See my "easiest leveling" video(s) for details. I reached level 99 before I first visited the Sweegy Woods as I spotted this weak point in the game. For an extreme case, watch the "10 levels in 10 minutes" video where, in under a minute, I get 2 or 3 levels at once! I just studied the game mechanics, spotted weak points, and exploited them, as I do in pretty much every game.
ulillillia 3 years ago
I honestly do not see what is "strange" here.

its better if you have a calculater you want to lv. and then steal exp him/her to stop them from leveling up so the crappy stats wont carry over to other jobs.

might i ask how it is youo recorded this? you could record on vhs, but then how do you get oonto computer?
ryancrose 3 years ago
You use what is called a "TV tuner". Some emulators supposedly can (but screen capture software like Virtual Dub could cancel this out), but this is completely unfamiliar territory to me. A TV tuner basically converts a TV signal into the format a computer can use and understand. PCI TV tuners (which are internal) cost around $10 to $100 ($40 mid-range), USB (external and works with laptops) is pricier at around $30 to $150 ($70 is mid-range).

doutorbumdefora 3 years ago
I find the monk a lot stronger, especially when the brave is at the highest permanent value of 97 and has accumulated before reaching the enemies (but then again, I usually have the enemies put to sleep before they could do anything).
ulillillia 3 years ago
Are you kidding? That's the best music you can get in a fight along with Random Waltz.
deanriam 3 years ago
i got one more question how did you get to 99 by random battles or using random abils like accumulate?
arballas 4 years ago
It's easy, once you put the enemies out of commission (cast "don't move" then "sleep" (use "preach" to raise faith (83 tops) to boost odds)). Then constantly steal gil (Ramza's yell helps with this) and add status effects (especially sleep) to enemies. Each successful action gives "TargetLevel-SourceLevel+10" EXP and "SourceJobLevel*2+SourceLevel/4+8" JP for each successful action. The enemies can start one-hitting characters by level 60. See my other videos of FFT for extra tips.
ulillillia 4 years ago
by what lvl should i have math to sleep dont act and dont move? i mean i'v mastered every job with all my guys except summoner, knight aracher and monk..
working on monk then gonna get my calcs
arballas 4 years ago
The sooner the better, but don't have Ramza have it until he is the last one to have it. Instead, have Ramza constantly yell at the calculator to raise the speed and add the "steal" job so he (and the others) can easily master JP. The others get 1/4 the JP (12 per action for 48 JP given). Also, use it toward things you have control over such as height, and, if already at level 99 (with 99 EXP), level (and EXP) as well.

Step 1: solve the software issue - this'll drastically boost the odds of it happening. Step 2: find a way to increase long-range sensitivity (otherwise, even from 2 feet away, the voice is very hard to hear and the noisy fan of my computer drowns it out).
