  • whaen sergio corbucci was making django with franco nero 'sergio leone visited the set and told corbucci i think your on to a winner with this film which it was .

  • Personally as much as I like Western movies but I don't like killings. This killing of human being is shown as a cool thing to do. It is unfortunate. It is disgusting.

  • @tubingkindly Well Sergio's movies dont really go about killing in his movies like American Westerns. In Leones movies the shot and death is quick... compared to the American dramatic death

  • @tubingkindly In case this isnt a troll post, you are somewhat wrong about this. Putting american and italian western into one box is quite a mistake. Even though you have a lot of violence in Spaghetti Westerns, it is always short, quick, direct and realistic. American westerns have much more glamorized violence, aka Sam Peckinpah's slow motion gore orgies, with blood spraying and bodies collapsing If it death in general that disturbs you, then maybe youre watching the wrong movies.

  • @nixsogutstudios Well, maybe I am watching the wrong movie if there is such a thing as a wrong movie. Besides I didn't say anything about Americans or Italians though. If I like to criticize a movie. I perhaps rather criticize the message not the messenger.

  • The sergio Leone Story

  • I think Leone might just be the best director ever. There's nothing he can't handle. I wish he'd made his war epic, Stalingrad.

  • Hello GilbertSmith ~ there is a war film called 'Stalingrad' which was a bit too ambitious for the budget but worth seeing for the stunning end-shot. Leone's epic was to be 'Leningrad'. Tornatore who could pull it off took up the mantle, but apparently wanting Nicole Kidman, the whole project is on hold. Morricone has already written music for Tornatore to shoot to.
