  • Actually, I've been watching the old episodes on HULU, and in the first season Christmas episode Will Robinson gets taken to Vermont, tells a small town who he is and to send a message to Alpha Control, and even manages to take a bottle of some chemical with him, so having a CGI conclusion is completely possible.

  • This is the lamest video I've ever seen...and those like it. It's insulting to the original LIS series. So to all of you doing these, please move out of your parent's basements, you really AREN'T movie or TV special effects artists, so use your energy in making something of real value that you're good at...like french fries.

  • @Knightman5577 Do YOU have a video to show? Where is YOUR computer animation? Give us the title of your animation so we may watch it. Then we will know if you are a competent judge, or just a dildo.

  • This is a joke, right? Those "actors" looked like they were CGI. Besides, I doubt if the surviving cast members would agree to commit to this project.

  • Amazing work. How many hours did it take you to complete? I agree with some other posters that you could make a full length film out of this.

  • @OKSteve Yes lots of hours - just designing the characters plus creating the sets etc - all done with existing freebie models on the internet. I just don't have the bandwidth for a complete movie today - although I am kicking around ideas - but before I do anything I need to learn a 3D modeling app so I can create what I want - space ship wise - and other as needed. Thanks for the comments.

  • Amazing job! Did you also write the narrative and do the narrator? I'd pay good money to see your work.

  • @Monkofmagnesia - The audio is actually lifted from the trailer of the 1998 movie LOST IN SPACE. I just put together a "classic" version of the video. Thanks for your comments.

  • I'll bet you could make a full length movie with this and it would be a hit for LIS fans. I'd love to help with the project. I loved the show as a kid and still do. So much better than the garbage that comes from hollywood now. Please keep up the great work. Love it.

  • i like the way the Jupiter 2 fires at the Discovery!!! lol

  • Phil, can you adopt me pls? Myself and your grandchildren love lost in space. We would have complete joy in our lives if you adopted us, your creativity with cgi, your replica's. OMG there great.

  • Once again Phil, you've done a marvelous job!

  • I think it's fantastic. Another person said "It's like a season 4!!!"

    PS visit lostinspaceforum

  • It's fake and thus a disappointment. None of the faces have the quality and character we all loved in the original. What's the point of making mislabeled junk like this? You should have used "CGI" in the title, that way not so many people would have waster their time on it. Thumbs down.

  • @TheMrBlinx You couldn't tell from the thumbnail that it was going to be CGI?

  • @racookster Barely. I guess that's a compliment though, huh?

  • @TheMrBlinx Possibly. I'm not sure. I've been a graphic designer for 30 years, so to me CGI tends to jump off the screen and scream "FAKE" unless it's really, really good.

I thought this video was kind of cute, but the CGI isn't anywhere near that good for that.

Incidentally, anyone who says "I'm an expert and I can always spot a fake" is bullshitting. Some fakes are so well-done that not even an expert can tell after detailed analysis, and sometimes, real stuff looks fake.

  • this is awsome - wish they made it a series..or a movie.

  • that was awesome!!!!!!!!!!! Loved it! Fantastic job!

  • Smith doesnt look anything like Gary Oldman. Bogus.

  • @ReverendSyn Smith looks like Jonathan Harris. The only true Dr. Smith in my book.

  • Wow! Great job! As other posters have asked, why can't Hollywood produce similar quality?

I grew up with the original TV series and it used to scare the daylights out of me. I wish they'd put it back on.

  • i love the orginal lost in soace langis caron bonjour

  • nice, playing around with Poser, Daz studio etc myself I can really appreciate the amount of time and effort that went into something like this : -)

  • Seriously, Please do this in real life. I would love to see this!!! I am a huge Lost In Space fan.

  • Well done

  • Nice work!

You put alot of effort into this & it shows! I grew up on Lost in Space reruns & this is well done!

    I was wondering, how

did you do the animation?Mix in the music? Seeing fanvids like these are very inspiring!Makes one wonder how far one could go with fanvids.Could they make a new Lost in Space series & help The Robinson family finially get home?

  • Nice! It´s very, very good! I´d like to see the entire history, if it were possible.

The characters are very good made. A hug from Brazil.

  • Neat! More??

  • The way it could have been ... maybe it will come to pass. After the success of 'Star Trek 0,' they must be looking for more science fiction shows of the Nineteen-Sixties they can reboot.

  • SUPER JOB!!!

    And Robbie the Robot too!

  • I love it--Nice job!! Just go ahead and do the rest of the 2 hours!

  • That was out of this world. From someone who saw the premier back in the 60's, GOOD JOB!

  • Is their any chance of a real film coming out in this manner, I loved it. John

  • it's amazing what you can do with SIMS 2

  • I didn't use SIMS 2. I used POSER 7 and VUE and Photoshop.

  • @hamiltonpl

This was great. Would love to see a tv series like this. Its better then that Hollywood version they made.

  • thanks for the response, I was joking. Impressive.

  • @biukucanoe If you like this check out my other video THE REVENGE OF MAJOR WEST ...Thanks

  • @biukucanoe

    LOL...

  • @biukucanoe Why oh why can't this be a real movie ?

  • Nice job with the trailer, nice tribute for Lost In Space fans. Tell me why do people like you can be extremely creative and the bozos in Hollywood are getting paid to produce junk year after year without a speck of creativity?

  • Thank you for the nice comment. I have the same question too....

  • @voyager202000

Because the audiance has been dumbed down and trained to except cheaply produced crap, like reality tv. So why should Hollywood produce anything that is well thought out.

  • 1:27 Why does Don always have the be the epic fail lol?

  • ok ===============

  • 1:43 Smith was strutting like a pimp.

  • Wow, great job!!

    Thanks for posting

  • I Love this! If only they would commission you to make the movie not just the trailer.

  • Thank you very much. I appreciate the comments. If only I could get this video to go "viral"...

  • Nice Star Trek Reference.

  • Thank you for makinmg a trailer tonm a low budget that is BETTER by FAR than the awful 1998 Movie and the even worse TV pilot.

However (as Smith would say) point out--the original mission is Alpha Centauri...NOT HOME.

As DON WEST said "as far as Im concerned our mission has always been

Alpha Centauri, and thats where wer're headed" LOL keep it up...KUDOS!!

  • I enjoyed this a lot. Cool preview! Great job.

  • I ate , drank and slept this series as a child....along with all the other Irwin Allen productions...........land of the giants, voyage to the bottom of the sea, time tunnel.......fantastic !!!!!

  • Superb! Hopefully within the next 10 years this will be remade into a new series featuring the original stars and inspired 1960's hardware, but with all the latest graphics.

  • Wow! Excellent!!

  • Heh heh heh, well done! Excellent creativity!

  • What a great job! This is fantastic work! Kudos for the effort and thanks for sharing this with the LIS fans out there.

  • This looks REAL good! Nice job!!!!

  • Great job Hamilton. I hope your dream is realized one day.

  • This is very cool, I really always enjoyed the LIS series, this would be a great movie in this form. I have the original pilot in B&W if anyone wants a copy, they just have to pay for postage, as I am not sending it for free hehehe, the video I can do for free, I have plenty of tapes.

  • Cool. With guest stars Space Station K-7 (Star Trek) and Robbie The Robot!

I'd watch it. I might even buy it!

  • Don't forget the spaceship from 2001!

  • @cuteycindyhoney

You're right! I didn't catch that because I thought it was the ship from the LIS movie. I didn't notice the circular front.

    Thanks for pointing that out.

  • No problem!

  • You'e done a REALLY good job! I don't know if you're familia with the comics that Billy Mumy was involved in about 15 years ago, but this, and those comics are both the BEST things to have been done to move the story forward. To a logical, good ending. The 90's movie- CRAP. Kudos!

  • Thank you. I have VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SOUL by Mumy and all the other Innovation comics.

  • Very good! I hope it becomes reality.

  • Comment removed

  • This is fantastic. It should be made with the original costumes, characters, and actors (via CGI). The Robot should be the same as well. It would be amazing.

  • I am going over to fancast and watch the old Lost in space :).

  • :(

they should so do something like this

and make it like 11 yrs later, and have them still trying to get home and stuff like that

    they should.

  • This was well done--but why is Will Robinson slipping his mom, Maureen the toungue???

  • Uh?? That is professor John Robinson - not Will.....

  • Well done!!!

  • The first shot of Smith was awesome! Love to see the CGI version with full fury.

  • Brilliant. This beats the crap out of the so-so new line motion picture. GREAT JOB. Irwin Allen would be proud!

  • Wow...you have come much closer to doing it right than the WB and New Line ever did!

Man, if TV can turn a dumb show like BSG into something respectable, then they should be able to turn Lost in Space into a mega-hit. It's a more inherently interesting concept even than Star Trek, yet the studios keep screwing it up.

  • All I can say is WOW! This is what he movie should have been! (Okay and also, please tell me the software you used to make the avitars of the Robinsons? : )

  • Poser and Photoshop and VUE.

  • I'm 46 and I am a loyal fan of LIs since the late 60's. I've been following it during the years. It make me recall my childhood and the early teen's. LIS movie from 1997 was a big deception to me. Thanks God Jonathan did not joyn the cast! I've been dreamed with a correct revival with a similar scenaries and actors playing , of course, similar scripts. It only could be made on cinema. This fictional trailler is exactly like my expects. I hope one day, one day...

  • I just turned 48, and I remember the 1st episode of LOST IN SPACE well, it changed my lfe. I used to watche THE TIME TUNNEL, on Friday nights after THE GREEN HORNET, and VOYAGE TO THE BOTTM OF THE SEA every Sunday Night, and LOST IN SPACE and STAR TREK every Wednesday night. SF-TV was FANTASTIC in the 1960s. Saturday mornings was all cool SF also.

  • Fantastic!

  • YES YES YES

WONDERFUL....lets see if I got all of the references:

Robby the Robot from "Forbidden Planet"

The "Discovery" from 2001: A Space Odyssey

Space Station K-7 from "The Trouble With Tribbles"

  • That was really good reminded me of the good OLE days.....

  • That was so good!

  • my fav show ever! They did this franchise so wrong with that movie! Ugh...how I long to see that ship fly again!

  • too bad us LIS fans never got the closure we deserve :(

  • What is going on here! This is extraordinary! Bravo!

  • I would love to see a sequel, this is neat

  • LOL, I want that craft!

  • That was EXCELLENT!!! Is this going to be a movie, cause I'd see it!! Old school Lost in Space.. The movie they did a few years ago was awful...

  • Really awesome. Realize your ideas and make a full length episode. Wow!!!

    Thanks so much for this.

    Greg

  • Can someone tell me where the music is from this video, I like the trailer music

  • very well done guys, if this was on dvd I'd buy it!!!!

I hope that one day Lost in Space can get a BSG type revamp. I know they tried to bring it back in 2004 and if fell apart. Maybe in a few years it'll come back.

  • Great.

  • I'll tune in!

  • If you need help making this contact me i would love to see this made and maybe you could do a startrek and battle star galatica too ...

  • great

  • muito bom

  • Lol booooooooooooooooorrrrrrrriiiiiinnnnnnnggggg

  • Tremendous amount of work went into this. Impressive likenesses on the characters as well.

    MJB

  • good job

  • Please.... MAKE THIS!!! I will be your friend for life! And I don't even know you!

  • I've never heard of that episode, but it sounds interesting. Was it one that they had planned but the show was cancelled before it was filmed? And I agree that this was extremely well done, and is a bittersweet taste of what COULD have been. I too think that the comics by Bill Mummy where they're older were excellant and should be adapted to film somehow. Anybody know if they ever came out with any graphic novels?

  • GREAT

  • Loved it! This was better than the 1998 remaike. Great job, my only criticism, I would have given them new uniforms.

  • Ohhh the pain, the pain!

  • I would love this. I too, wish they would go from where the comic ended. Bill Mumy did the comic and it is excellent.

  • Great clip. I wiash there was a film that took place in the continuity of the comic book which was based off the original series where the characters were alittle older.

  • This is awesome. My daughter and I just finished watching all three seasons and we just can't get enough.

Phil make a movie, if this is any indication of what you're capable of, the studios should hire you. I would love to see a full length movie, not the garbage they put out in 1998.

    Great job

  • this is quite excellent! Makes me with for the real thing, all over again!

  • That is cool but couldn't you have designed season 4 uniforms?!

  • That was cooler than you-know-what!!!!

Lost in Space LIVES in digital!

    Rock on!

  • Thank you Phil, loved it.

  • Great idea... The Jupiter 2 has to go to Alpha Centauri and found it worse off than East LA and then have to return to Earth to save Earth. The show gave us too much intrigue into why the Robinsons had to go to AC. Ultimately Smith must redeem himself and save the day, reluctantly of course.

Lastly, take out the opening intro to the original John Williams title music and begin with the theme. We need a big musical hit for the credits.

  • they did have a chance to make a GOOD movie of lost in space back in the 80's when all cast memebers were still alive but they blew it. instead they make that cheap dumb-ass movie in 1998 that was an insult to the original show

  • Excellent video. Is there going to be a lost in space movie? I hope so I would love to the original Robinsons return in a movie.

  • I can't express how cool this is ... job well done! :) You should get a best YOU TUBE VIDEO award for this (if there was such a thing!) i enjoyed this very much! :)

  • Pretty sweet! Like the combination of both the movie and the show, a Trek star base, and the Discovery from 2001. I think I'm gonna have to learn CGI. Which program(s) did you use?

  • I used POSER 7 and VUE 6 Esprit with Photoshop Elemenets as well to work on textures. I created the TRAILER I wanted to see....!!

  • Nice work! You even have the CGI characters look like the old cast! Ever think of doing mini episodes for YT? Love it! PS .. not to be picky but .. why is Guy Williams not on your credits at the end? :) I checked out IMDB and his name THERE appears in the 6th place .. lol ! Thanks for posting!

  • The reason is that both Guy and Jonathan have passed away and IF this were a real CGI movie then the voice talents of the remaining cast would be used with new voice work for John Robinson and Dr. Smith...IF this were a real movie...tks for the support and nice comments

  • Brilliant Phil. I have a B9 as well.

  • SUPERB!

  • Cool robots!!

  • Can't wait to see the movie!

    LadyViewer

  • I would pay GOOD money to see this!!! Make us a full length movie that has the original characters and music and put it straight to DVD. I love this. We need this for all LIS fans. Hamilton plz mke us another, SOON

  • AWESOME !!

  • Stunning! I've seen these excellent set models before, (and they excellent!) but coupled with your fine character animation and voice work this is 5 star+ work!

  • We all want this so much!!! Come on Kevin Burns If not live (we lost Jonathon Harris) you can see it can be done on CGI! Sell it this way. you're sitting on a gold mine. it can be sold to a market.

  • wow...you should be a professional

    maybe you are

keep up the good work and keep them coming! this is amazing!

  • That would be fun but alas I am not. Just some fun with a show that absolutely captivated me when I was 8 years old. I guess it still does...

  • Holy flawless rendering and cross-over references Console Man! :-)

Do the studios know how well a 2 hour feature like this would sell?

    Super duper job sir.

  • Thank you for the nice comments. I don't think the studios know. I wish they would consider this as something to put straight to DVD for us Lost in Space fans. Write to Space Productions and let them know how you feel.

  • Really great job. Wouldn't it be great if someone made a GOOD Lost In Space return to Earth movie?

  • Great Job!!! You deserve an oscar. I am working on a 3 foot diameter of The Jupiter 2.I just want to say again great job.

  • SPECTACULAR, PHIL!!!!!!!!Why dont the major studios realize THIS is the type of project the fans want? nick

  • Pretty cool!

  • BRILLIANT,much prefer Dr Smith as he was in the first season, waaaayyy to camp in the 2nd and 3rd.

    Really enjoyed this,THANKS for posting.

  • Awesome.... Nice Job

  • fantastic

  • Nice work! What software did you use?

  • Poser 7 and Vue 6 Esprit mostly. And Photoshop. Tks for looking...

  • Very nice!

  • Very good!!

  • OK, it really looks great. I'm not sure if this is fake or not but I was excited!

  • Fake just fan art and some fun...Glad you enjoyed it....thanks for watching.

  • I tell you, I'm a major fan of a lost in space type film. Yours was great but it hardly included the cast. I'd love for you to redo it with more of the cast. Can you do that?

  • Let me clarify. I really want a closing episode where they find their way home with the entire cast. It would so rock!

  • Sure! how much money do you have for me to invest in rendering farms and staff?? Just kidding...this took about 200 hours to do at a minimum. On my single core 3 ghz computer renders took over night sometimes for just 3 seconds. Very processor and time intensive. tks for the comments....
