The toughbook is designed for working under harsh environmentals, not for regular consumers. You have inhaled too much iDrug (no other laptop brands are good?).
Panasonic dont sell direct to civilians. There made for military and governments, when your only concern is that the you might die if your laptop fails in the field then these make perfect sense. You dont need amazing performance for spreadsheets and communications.
@selyss12345 you'd be surprised, I've dropped one of the lower end models with the screen open on the corner of the screen and it didn't even have any damage.
Test was O.K. Nothing special, it's been done before. What I haven't seen yet is having it land on it's corners. I'm my close to 20 yrs of being in System and Infrastructure does a notebook land flat when accidently dropped by a user. They generally land on corners or edges. Now if Toughbook 31 could survive a test like that awesome. Right now...shrug...nothing here to see folks. Move along.
what a douche

Now try the same test when the lid is open and make sure it falls on a corner. :)

£3500 seems a bit much for the latest one though!

How well does it survive an electromagnetic pulse from a distanced nuclear explosion or an EMP weapon?

I bet it would be different story if the notebook landed corner first.

@selyss12345 Or we could just try a drop HALF that height with a Macbook/Macbook pro/whatever mac, have it land the same way and see the results :)

I think this was amazing, I was there. Try a 20' drop with any other manufacturer.. not going to happen, they won't even try it

If it stands a flat land of 20 feet, it will surely stand a milder real-life drop... even on a corner

you should get someone to explain about video aspect ratio, because you have it wrong :)

@Meibukan5,
Thats funny because that was the first thing I asked... Drop it on a corner and then I might be impressed... maybe.
