my original comment was aimed specifically at martial arts films. There is no doubt that there a plenty of great american films, too many to mention, but not in this genre. Chinese cinema is like a breath of fresh air to me. Take films like Mr Vampire, Close Encounters of the Spooky Kind and The Xu Warriors. These may lack cinematic finesse, but they were brilliant, and much better than a lot of the run of the mill blockbusters we are fed today. Its just my opinion on this matter.

this is a brilliant film. Its got everything, like kungfu hustle. Americans can't make films like this, they don't have such a depth of history or culture. Or maybe its their audience that don't have depth or culture? Stephen Chow is class!
