I'm betting it's a female cat, And a tom cat has sprayed the tire. It looks like she was trying to leave scratches to indicate that she had been there along with urinating in front of the tire. Cats have scent glands at the eyebrows and at the rear. She was leaving her scent mark to comunicate with the Tom who left his scent. What she doesn't realize is that the Tom who left that scent may impossibly far away. Before anyone slams me for my theory, I'm a vet tech. I think I know these things.

Nah, Shiro is all boy. But he lives with 3 younger cats on a farm, and they have their hierachy well sorted out as they get on very well together (lots of vids of them snuggling here). Shiro's doing the marking and scenting to let his brothers (and any cats who happen to passing through) know that Big Boy Shiro Is Around and TCB
