Love it. Nice workmanship too.. I've got a few "run of the river" ideas as well.. I've always worried about the gov'ts stance on this. I can see how they dont want 5 million of these things on the river, and if they let one person do it... anyway, if the stream is on your own property, then thats different. Good luck with your battle :)
After looking around I cannot find a better idea for using a flat river flow to produce electricity. I intend to build an experimental one of these at a friends house to see how it works thank you for taking the time to post this and I hope you are not asked to take this down.
I like how little construction there is as faras building water races or having to pipe the water and the fact the system operates just on the flow of the water without having to rely on any fall.
Very good Job.
It's amazing in this day and age how gubbermints spout on about the environment and saving it and then try to tell people like yourself you can't do something that reall is helpful like this.
Awesome job I think it is a great setup.I am sorry to hear about the DEP.I think people forget how things were in the old days.they wont allow your beautiful water wheel to touch the water.but as we speak thousands of gallons of oil are pouring into the ocean.I hope you get your permit.I have had no problems with the DEP but I am on a very tiny stream.TAKE CARE
For someone who haven't figure out how to measure electric current ( Amperage ) you have done very well !
