Can anyone explain to me the business side of how an internet series makes money? They can't charge for advertising like TV shows. Does the site pay to produce it because it brings in traffic? I really have no idea. To Google.
I can't speak for all internet released media, but Dr. Horrible was entirely non profit. They could have release it on a site that hosted advertising, but were very particular in their decision to release it on hulu. They wanted absolutely NO advertising - completely free and uninterrupted, straight to the public. The actors and crew all performed voluntarily, and Joss's connections allowed them access to a lot of sets at a minimal cost (eg, Dr Horrible's house)...
However, Dr Horrible's success meant money was eventually made through sale of DVD's, and other merch. They used this to reimburse the actors for their time.
Other internet series like The Guild depend upon fan support and donations. While The Gulid is also non-profit, merchandise sales and donations are used to cover production costs.
So, internet series won't make money unless they get really popular - and the only way to get that popular, is to be non-profit.
So... The question to Joss about EVERY show being horribly canceled. Buffy went on forever compared to most shows, and Angel was actually on for several seasons, particularly considering it was a spinoff, so I think kind of a goofy question. Yeah, some of his shows got ripped off, but, meh, he hasn't been that horribly unsuccessful.
Angel had a season or two more that he had wanted to write... Joss presured the executives at the wrong time and therefore Angel got canceled before it was supposed to. He was going keep Wesley alive and... apparently Fred was to make some sort of re-emergance
Was all of this taken with a video camera, or just a digital camera that happens to have video? Any chance I could get a copy of the thing as a whole? I was there, but all I had was nine minutes on my brother's digital camera, so I'd love to have more!
Hi! I took this with a digital camera. I don't have the entire thing, about half, just what I posted on You Tube. Since the files are upwards of 100 mb each, I don't know how I would get this to you. I think there are some tools out there where you can save You Tube videos. Hope that helps!
Firefly was awesome!

@ravenhpltc242 I think it's mainly hosted on Hulu, which does have advertisements.

So is there anything on firefly? Or has it been forgotten at comic-con? I know they all are busy of course, but fan wise.

I for this evolution. Put the power in the viewers hands to chose what is cool and what is not. To a certain extent. I think. Well, mostly.
