@z3Ndix Not a really nice thing to say. Becasue I had to leave my motherland and my city (Liepaja). And not because I didn't like it there or whatsoever but because I had to, that was the last option and I had no other. But it doesn't mean that I don't want to go back or that I don't love it there. It's just the circumstances that puts you in the position.

Anyways, I love it there and I'll be back asap.

I have seen in Polish newspaper very strange news. Is it true that Latvian people want to sell Latvia? I have read that they want to sell Latvia for 7,5 mld dollars to cash-rich buisnessman from Russia. Is it really true?

The last ones we would like to sell it to would be Russians, as they and their imperialism is one of the main dangers for the existance of Latvia. Among 1,5 million Latvians there might be someone who has such ideas, but it definitely is not a general opinion. So - its not true, we dont want (and cant) sell it to anyone/anything.However, the truth is that many companies and businesses and also lands are already owned by foreigners, both eastern and western, so, to some extent,it already is sold.

I've read that this petition to Abrahamowicz, Russian millioner was signed by 720 persons . I was very suprised as till that moment in Poland there was opinion that Latvia tries to be independent country and doesn't want to be matched with Russia any longer...But this news...it make everybody really surprised.

First of all, 720 people from population of 2,3 million is a very small number. Secondly, I bet that 99 % of these 720 are russians from Latvia, who have always been and still are imperialists and are very pro-Russian. Foreign press very often puts everything under the word Latvian, but it can actually include an ethnic Latvian or a non-Latvian from Latvia. Ive never heard of such information, nor I know who is Abrahamovich.

Oh, yes, of course I haven't thought of it! They should be Russian surely. But nowadays in Latvia Russians can influence politics and mer of Riga is from Russia. I have heard that he refused to add "s" at the end of his surname

The result of not decolonising the occupied Latvia is lots of russians with Latvian citizenship, who make up their parties and vote for them, and therefore the mayor of Riga is Russian, i dont think he is from Russia, he is from Latvia, but absolutely pro-Russian. The occupation has never ended in Latvia.. The refusal and criticism of the S ending in persons names is just one example of the disrescpect to Latvian language and not willing to integrate in Latvian society. Occupants and colonists!

Thanks! Im glad you like Liepāja! I dont think there are lots of movies in English (or Polish) here about Latvian history. Read the Wikipedia article about it, if youre interested. Latvia is beautiful indeed. Top places I would recommend to visit are Riga old town, Sigulda (hilly place with castles etc.), Kuldiga (medieval town with Europes widest waterfall), Rundale palace (it is the Versailles of Latvia), and, of course, Liepaja - the central part and Karosta, the former secret military town.

What? There are not any nuclear reactors in Liepaja, nor in Latvia. The nearest nuclear reactors are those in Sweden across the Baltic sea, and also in Eastern Lithuania - power plants. The only secret military reactor I know was in Paldiski, northern Estonia, which is hundreds of miles away from Liepaja..
