I am a Dell person, however, I'm currently typing this on my Acer laptop. This was my first laptop and it has been wonderful. However, I think you should have the same processor in all machines. Having a dual-core in 2 and a celeron in the Acer really isn't a fair test. Also the Acer only had 2 gigs while the HP & Dell had 3. So far I love my Acer and feel that had it been an "even" test the Acer would have loaded faster. Just my opinion.

you are doing a speed test with three different pc speeds if your trying to do a real test you should have pcs that are all the same speed because each pc you have,

have spec that determin the speed of the pc the celeron is for sure not as fast as the pentium dual core and the celeron dual core is not faster than the single core celeron . what are you trying to prove?

@djnav4 yea that would work except nobody has three computers with the exact same specs. I was just doing a video of all the laptops in my house cause i was interested in seeing which one was the fastest...nothing else, its not a formal test i will admit to that, it wasnt supposed to be.

hp and acer better? Get real owned a Compaq laptop...biggest piece of shit i ever had! It always crashed, so bloody slow (even on XP with 768MB still take 5 min to open to just to open Firefox) and the laptop is built so cheap. Used heaps of acers which have been all crap. Own a Dell 1545 now fantastic laptop battery last ages unlike my compaq which lost it charge after 14 months and its a laptop that works! Also most of my friend who own hp or acer laptop also have nothing but problems with it

Interesting test. For it to be "fair," you would have to clean the caches on each, empty the TEMP files, and disclose any startup hacks--basically, they would have to be unboxed and started up simultaneously. I think my 2002 ibm would boot into Windows 2000 faster!

@computerguy78 Me 2, the only problem is that you should definetly make sure that u have a lengthy warranty because the hard drives tend to fail often, I've had my inspiron for around a year and I'm on my 3rd hard drive. But yes, besides alien ware in my opinion dell's the fastest
