  • Nice vid

  • if it wasint for the trafic the car would have smocked the bike,

  • gay...

  • All the way to a race track and still the slower traffic gets in the way of the GT3 and won't move over. The bike rider did very well considering the cold weather. It can be difficult to ride fast with your muscles stiffening up from the cold. Both vehicles should have similar problems getting heat in the tires.

  • The rider on the R1 is Jorund Seim; who loves riding the nurburgring. He was killed crashing on an oil spill on a blind corner in 2002 :(

  • Hey good job on this video... very professional! Most videos on here are crappy... seriously this was a high quality enjoyable video...

  • that was a lady driver at 06:44. she doesn't know who's behind her or who is beside her.

  • the motorbike it's not full throtle

  • too many corners for a crotch rocket

  • on the ring cars are faster

  • R1's rule!

  • this gt3 have 360cv not 381...

  • Yes...I is this correct: this porsche has 360 cv!

    thanks!

  • Gt3 can take curves easily... awesome car

  • both drivers are awesome and GT3 is a serious car...i love it....greetings...

  • Haha! Gt3 loses to BMW...

  • haha lol noob, cause the stupid driver in the bmw is blocking the porsche all the time.

  • cars are better in corners, because they have more gripp. But, in straight line, the bike is the GOD.

  • except when you get above 100mph when the cars again take over due to aerodynamics

  • not true. Maybe above 200mph, but 100? no way man!

  • would you like to back that up? there is a reason bmw windows roll up at 100mph. aerodynamics become a major factor anywhere over 85mph. typical cessna planes weighing thousands of pounds begin flying at lower speeds than 100mph. you still want to tell me aerodynamics don't factor in at 100mph? how bout this, attach a big metal wing to your helmet and try to stay on your bike at 100mph, if you live we can argue aerodynamics.

  • you are right about aerodynamics, but bikes have such a good power to weight ratio that midrange power is better in a bike than car, and the speed of this power is as low as 35mph untill about 155mph after this speed most bikes slow down in acceletration, then aerodynamics come into it (for speed) but it won't be long untill the bike designers find away around this ;-)(then their will be trouble!!). as for the windows coming up on the bmw it is for fuel consumption.

  • again not true. the 0-190mph time of a GSXR1000 is quicker than that of a McLaren F1.

  • love how the gt3 couldnt pass either the e36 m3 or the m shoe. porsche=crapstar

  • No, that was a Opel/Vauxhall Corsa, old model. Looks like it had been tuned, inside and out.

  • the car in minute 3 - 4 was a micra?¿

  • goin there soon woop!!!

tht guy on the bike was awesome

so was the car driver tho

  • all motobikes are stubit mechines ,

thats porsche 911 gt just feel the power

  • cars suck every one can drive cars, riding a bike on track is a lot more difficult and more fun

  • bike's driver is fearful

  • Cars always corner better than bikes.

    No surprises here then

  • out of intrest. fastest road cars vs fastest road bikes

    Monza 2007

    fastest LM GT1 qualifying time: Stephane Otrelli - Saleen S7R - 1:45.443

fastest WSB qualifying time: Noryuki Haga - Yamaha YZF-R1 - 1'44.941

  • Was that Helmut Dahne on the bike or something :^o

    Awesome!

  • Great video! the guy on the bike is just amazing!!

  • Who cares. Why would you argue what is faster? None of you are involved in the race. Furthermore they're two different types of vehicles. Two totally different classes of things, and two totally diferent driving/riding experiences. Arguing petty bullshit like that is childish.

  • But fair play to this guy for even botherin to take a litre bike round this dodgey camber track in 3 degrees! the car dribers got his heater, i bet this guy cant even feel his hands

  • Donkeys fly south for the winter!

  • Would love to know what was in the Black 3 series that he couldnt seem to catch.

  • Fahren beide echt spitze!!

Trotzdem Hut ab vor dem Motorrad fahrer!!!

    Hät ich nicht gedacht!!!

NORDSCHLEIFE,GERMANY THE BEST TRACK FROM THE WORLD

  • lol

Velentino Rossi on the R1 and Michael shumacher in the gt3 .. rossi would smoke him so badly.

for those of you that actually think that cars are faster than bikes you should consider that riding a bike fast is MUCH harder than driving a car fast ...

incidently: they raced a turbo charged radical (driven by a touring car racer) and a cresent gsxr1000 suzuki (ridden by a journalist on two tracks in UK (silverstone being one of them).. bike beat the car (just) both times (lap times)

  • The ring times for a 911 GT3 and a Yamaha R-1 around the ring are comparable at around 7:40. The guy riding the bike had a vast number of laps at the ring, unfortunately he is also now dead he came off at the ring and hit the Armco hard.

For me a car will always be quicker around the ring because I would never take my bike there.

  • well... my point is this.. an R1 ridden at 100% of its ability on a nice warm day would be faster than a gt3 driven at 100%. Problem is it is that much harder to get to 100% on a bike than it is on a car. and tbh the risk reward isnt worth it. at races where people have something to win ie gt and superbike races. The times for bikes are better(even when they throw in extra chicanes :P)

  • well put i drive and ride and i couldnt have put it better myself, it skill to drift properly in a car, but its so much easier to take a car to its limit, and people that have both and say they can take corners quicker in their car usually havent got the skill to get full lean out the bike. You put it nicely my friend :P

  • Yeah awesome video but the real question is a Clubman porche 911 GT3 what about £110,000 and a standard yamaha R1 £9000 and it kept it in it's sights all round the track for £100,000 less I'd want the bike and buy a house with the change

  • Cars have bette grip than bikes, cars have 4 wheels whit a mucth larger grip flat.

  • Increases power-to-weight ratio of Bike = Car left behind in the dirt...Alot of Noobs including me once upon a time used to think Cars were superior...not anymore..It's time you racers started studying Physics and racing curves more properly then you will realise that the Biker could have owned that car at any moment...just like at the end of the video...heck the Biker was just cruising too

  • Power to weight ratio isn't all that goes into good lap times. The bike could beat just about anything acceleration-wise in a straight line, but cars still take the cake with corners.

  • Look at 9:10 the Bike leaves the red car for dust...and that was on the corner. To take a corner you must slow down..comprende? Then to exit a corner you must accelerate....everyone agree?? Ok cool. Now then we will understand the increased acceleration on a Bike leaves us in no surprise why it left that car on the turn. Please think or drive an actual race like this before you comment

  • The car's the clear winner in this match and it is a fact that sports cars in general are quicker around tracks to their bike equivalents. In any case though, one would prefer the bike because its far more challenging to master than any car. Still, I'm a 4-wheels person :)

  • Great video: both guys looks pretty tasty around there. I wouldn't wanna come up against either of them..

  • True the car record is quicker, but that record is held by a full blown purpose built race car. The record holding bike however was a modified street bike.

Cars need to be taken to race car levels to compete with street bikes. Not to mention that you could buy 10 R1's for the price of that porche

  • NURBURGRING

Bike record 7:49 (Helmut Daehne '93/94 Honda RC 30)

Car record 7:15 (Edo Porsche 996 GT2 RS Patrick Simons)

Bikes can accelerate faster on straight line, but they can't go around a corner or brake as good as a car and everybody knows it. Cars beat bikes at any track at any time.

  • Thats only an official record. So far, the time i've seen is a 7:30 by a Gixxer 1k

  • NURBURGRING

  • the hayabusa doesnt count. thier crap track bikes. look like fucking whales. liter bikes r way better flickers.

  • Yeah a Killer whale, on the open road the Busa is magic, on a twisty road it's the devil it self

  • bikes are crap. they are quick off the mark but can't go round corners (abit like american cars actually!!)

the r1 is/was the fastest production bike- the porsche gt3 is not even close to being the fastest production car. point made.

  • R1 is not the fastest production bike. the 2000(or 2001, forgot which) hayabusa is, since it was created before the agreed speed cap of 185 mph max speed, and at the same time it outdid all other production bikes. the subsequent models had the speed cap implemented. the old bike can reach max speeds of over 195mph.

  • Quite clearly the R1 could have had the Porsche at any time. So he proved near the end. Great video with sound.

  • must be a rooooookie rider

  • great race, porsche would have completely burned if not for traffic,i mean seriously, 4 tires 350HP, VS 2 tires 150HP,its a give-in for the GT3, but to b honest i was pullin for the R-1
