Truckers on the CB

I beat this problem with my XM radio by installing a radio with an auxilery input on the face of the radio & plug the xm directly into the AM/FM radio. the new radio also has Bluetooth so I can use my cell phone hands free. got it at Walmart for $100.00. had it in a truck for over a year & no problems with the radio.

when I was younger I would listen to low band AM and pick up some truckers, also highway patrol in the usa, and I was in a small highland scottish village, when the skip was high signals would bounce everywhere...amazing huh.

@nevadagunslinger iam having the same problem as that driver with his Modulator signals coming in but all static. Actually get a better reception running barefoot. Do you think it could be a bad amp

if your on a uhf radio and in australia the most action is on the repeater ch 40 aka highway and truck channel is like mostly dead but u do hear shit on it some times

Yeah Your probably right Fist off it's a radio shack CB I have one that's almost the exact same one my mike fits on his radio and my mike works perfectly.Thank You for the information I'm trying to find another mike that will fit my radio then I'll give him my mike.

Breaker 19 How 'bout that Nevada Gunslinger out there This is Chicago Kid Hollering at ya Do you know what would make a CB change the channel when you let off the mike in other words when you talk to somebody and then you quit the radio changes to the next lower channel I think it's the mike The radio belongs to a friend of mine but when I hooked up my mike to his radio it worked perfectly Could the mike just be dirty?

@cbnut81 First what kind of radio is it? RCI makes one that has a channel changer in the mic. If it's not that model then my guess would be that there is some transient voltage jumpig to the channel changing switch from probably a bad ground in the mic plug. First thing I'd do is put a different mic on it and see what happens.

This is what I do a lot at the end of my break (I drive at night). I like to listen to what people are saying, you can learn a lot. I only have two years experience and am sort of the new crowd I guess but I'm 36 and have worked in auto factories for many years and ran a cleaning business (believe it or not much better money than trucking but big companies took over all my contracts).

I'm actually all done with it now too. I'm starting college in January, seems to be going good for my wife. You can get grants and low interest loans if you aren't making a lot of money.

I can't direct connect; I ain't got no plug-ins in my truck for that. At least I don't think I do. Finding a station in Chicago is not easy. I usually listen to the CB there.
